Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! March 2026. Reset for Radiance⭐️

How was March’s Reset for Radiance for you? Not so radiant here what with an injured shoulder and a stinking virus to contend with 😅 Fingers crossed that April brings more than showers for us all!❤️

To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!
Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.

  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.

  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.

  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.

  5. Stay hydrated! 💧

  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.

  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩

  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.

  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!

  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on.

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone.

After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 3lbs.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

Good Morning All x

Welcome to the thread@pinkpip100 Sorry to hear you’re struggling. What is your diet like generally. One way to help knock snacking and over eating in general is to keep blood sugars balanced aka - a lower carb, sugar and upf diet and focus on fibre, protein and healthy fats as well as keeping hydrated. 👍

Hi @10kstepsaday Great to have you join us! Congratulations on your 3lbs off👌

@thenewaveragebear1983 We've all had days like that when we knowingly have more of the naughty stuff than planned. Resetting your intentions and planning your meals will soon see you back on track. Those are fabulous fitness goals with your marathons 🏃‍♀️👍👏

Menu
Meal 1 - Avo on lentil roll. Sprouted bean sprouts and sauerkraut.
Meal 2 - Halloumi stir fry. Greek yogurt & nuts.
Drinks - Tea, black coffee, hibiscus tea & water.

I hope you’ve got the sun where you are! Glorious here ☀️

Thanks @GreenMarigold- that rebound routine sounds manageable, and as though it’s making a difference!

Also thanks @TheRealHousewifefor the welcome. I’ve actually given up refined sugar for lent, and that has helped with the evening cravings for ‘something sweet’, but has not made a difference to the weight creeping on. I definitely snack too much in the day, particularly late afternoon, and I think my portion sizes are probably too big, although I think the meals themselves are pretty healthy. I’m vegetarian, so possibly a bit carb-heavy & protein-low overall. I’ve restarted the ‘my fitness pal’ app so hoping that will help me track all of that a bit better.

Exercise is so inconsistent - I have a very stressful but very sedentary job, plus 4 children/teens/young adults, so time is an issue, but also menopause related tiredness and generally hating anything that makes me feel hot & sweaty (again, menopause related).

Anyway, enough moaning - good to meet you all and hopefully you’ll all inspire me to do more!!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 02/04/2026 17:10

Sun has been out here but it’s still quite cold. We are going to Snowdonia tomorrow and the forecast is for strong winds for storm Dave.
I did do a run today but my headphones ran out of battery within ten minutes and while I don’t mind a bit of silent running, I didn’t fancy a full hour. I switched my route to one that took me through town to keep me interested, and cut the overall distance to 7km. I did also do an arms workout with my barbell while watching tv.

I’m due on and it’s making me hungry although I have noticed it is a lot less intense than previous months. Last month I was like a possessed animal for a full week before, nothing could satiate me. This week I have definitely noticed I am struggling to stick to my calorie deficit without feeling hungry/wanty it’s not real hunger but it can be incredibly powerful and hard to resist for a whole week.

The weekend will be interesting . We’re away with my family although we have our own self catering accommodation and there’s a lot of dietary requirements in the group with vegans, dairy and soy allergies, and gluten free, plus general weight loss dieters, so it will be completely possible to stay on plan as everyone will get eating their own thing. My plan is to try to keep to my 3 meals but avoid snacks and evening nibbles. There will be wine. Aiming for a maintain 🤞

FridayNighFeeling · 02/04/2026 20:14

Up 1 1/2lbs as expected. Will check in again on Saturday and probably Monday to see if that comes out in the wash because I've waited ages for the scales to go from STS to down a bit. Probably doesn't help that I'm on day 71 of my cycle now Shock WTF??? Hormones are the worst
Have a lovely Easter weekend all. Hope the weather isn't as awful as forecast @thenewaveragebear1983

10kstepsaday · 02/04/2026 20:47

20 min Yoga With Adrienne completed this morning, after a long day of driving yesterday I needed to stretch!

Breakfast was a homemade carrot granola muffin, with 2 boiled eggs.
For lunch I made pea and mint soup from scratch and it was very refreshing!
Dinner was chicken and salad.

Lots of baking with the DC today so have also had a big slice of chocolate cake!

Pasta4Dinner · 02/04/2026 21:57

Checking in. No real weight loss this year, but I am smaller and getting my weights up in the gym.

LemonDrizzle23 · 03/04/2026 10:23

@thenewaveragebear1983 headphones running out of battery is always so disappointing! I never realise how rubbish, muffled and tinny sounding the music in our gym is until I’m forced to listen to it!

@FridayNighFeeling hormones are the worst - the female body feels badly designed a lot of the time.

No real plans here this weekend apart from Easter Sunday. We’re not religious, but DM always did a big lamb roast at Easter, so in her absence we have now taken over that role.

Have been very sensible with the Easter eggs this year. I am not letting another month pass me by!

Fellsbells · 03/04/2026 10:26

Checking in for strength and support as we enter the hardest weekend of the year for many of us. 😂 Chocolate at every meal, chicks, eggs and bunnies all looking delicious. And now the shops have made life even harder with all the flavours and variations of eggs that all need eating.

I’m only half joking. Chocolate is my addiction. Food and alcohol have got nothing on it’s chocolatey goodness. Spring is always the start of a seasonal weight gain for me that starts with Easter and takes me at least three months to start to turn around.

Plan is to stick to calories as much as possible and to NOT snack on the DC’s small eggs when they’re at school.

TheRealHousewife · 03/04/2026 18:19

Happy Easter Weekend Everyone!

As I’ve got older I’ve really gone meat … anyone else? I already have developed the habit of tracking food so I generally keep an eye on protein intake.

On another note on reading around anti-inflammatory foods etc I came across ‘oxalates’. I can’t say I’ve come across them before. In short oxalates are natural compounds found in many plant foods. They bind to minerals such as calcium, magnesium and iron which affects how well you absorb them. They can be particularly problematic if you suffer from autoimmune diseases such as being celiac and hashimotos thyroid disease (I have both conditions). Spinach is particularly high in oxalates so people who suffer from autoimmune diseases should avoid. I’ve been eating a portion of raw spinach most days for a few months which also correlates with the increased joint pain I’ve had. For most healthy people they do not cause a problem but people with poor gut health such as me should avoid. In the recent past I did a Zoe gut test and I was shocked to find I scored 395/1000 😮 I’d considered my whole food, low upf, low carb, low sugar, no booze diet healthy. I dread to think how it would affect my health if didn’t eat the way I eat.

Menu
Meal 1 - Vegetable & bean soup. Lentil roll.
Meal 2 - Vegetable & butterbean medley with feta crumbled in. Greek yoghurt & drizzle of honey.
Drinks - Tea, black coffee, hibiscus tea & water.

Checking in for the day. No exercise but did do about 2 hours of retail therapy, got my steps in 😅

Breakfast was yoghurt, granola and a banana
Lunch was accidentally skipped due to aforementioned shopping trip, I did have a bit of DC cookie.
Dinner was homemade carbonara

So not a very healthy day really.

I am just fascinated by this @TheRealHousewife how even healthy foods can cause issues for some people. It really can be a minefield!!

TheRealHousewife · 03/04/2026 22:34

It really can @10kstepsaday . I’ve also recently learnt that I should not have soya either as I have medicated hashimotos. When diagnosed I was given a prescription but no dietary advice 🤷‍♀️ You really have to advocate for yourself and get educated.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 03/04/2026 22:42

@LemonDrizzle23 it really is isn’t it? The right music is the defining factor to me enjoying a run or hating every second of it. However, it’s actually really good for endurance training to go without so I do actually try to do an occasional no phones run. One day I may even do a no Garmin run (lie - I will never ever be able to do this 🤣)

i weighed this morning at 10.13 which is the lightest I have been in over a year and it’s a very very long time since i have seen a 10 on the scales. Today I probably regained a couple as we are now away for the weekend 🤷‍♀️

TealSloth · 04/04/2026 06:11

Its the weekend I need to make sure i dont have too many calorie intake. I need to watch what am eating. Plus workout at home.
2025 has been tough and hard. This year I am doing ok.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 04/04/2026 10:36

Phew, found you all!

LemonDrizzle23 · 05/04/2026 19:00

Happy Easter all! I hope everyone has managed to survive storm Dave and do something nice today.

We had friends and family over and ate too much lamb and chocolate! Will be aiming for a very plain dinner and back to normal eating tomorrow.

HowDidThatHappenSoSoon · 05/04/2026 19:13

Room for another poster here? I’d love to have some accountability and support.

I’m feeling so overfed after the long, rainy winter. I’d love to feel more comfortable in my clothes as the spring is finally here.

Fellsbells · 05/04/2026 20:56

Happy Easter everyone.

Slightly over calories today, but nothing too bad.

IcyShark · 06/04/2026 09:21

Oh my god I need this. Married in October gained just over a stone since. The weather also makes me feel unmotivated to be active outside.

socks1107 · 06/04/2026 09:34

Morning all! Back to it now, I’ve gained 4lbs in two weeks holiday and off plan and loved every mouthful 😂. It’s very clear I was in metabolic adaptation in the month before I went away so I’m very keen to avoid that and get the last 10lbs off ( they are clinging on!)

hapoy easter Monday all

TheWayTheLightFalls · 06/04/2026 09:45

Oops, posted in March -

It’s OMAD here. Anyone’s guess how it’ll go!

FridayNighFeeling · 06/04/2026 12:48

Hi all and hopefully there's some sun where you are - we've got a few lovely days forecast.

Cycle day 75 Hmm but scales have settled after being away at just about -26lbs. Still hurting from Saturday's exercise class - so pleased that I'd not had breakfast beforehand as I may have puked if I had! Doing another tomorrow, hopefully it won't be quite so intense.

I'm sure you can do it @TheWayTheLightFalls though not the end of the world if not.

Welcome back @socks1107 a well deserved break. Most of the 4lbs will be water weight....

thenewaveragebear1983 · 06/04/2026 17:17

Hope everyone has had a lovely Easter weekend. It’s been one of two halves for me. I’ve done loads of exercise, multiple hilly walks and a 10km run while in Snowdonia, then a short one with dh when we go home. Some of my meals have been good. However some have been very much off plan! I didn’t dare step on the scales this morning, calling it a maintain for last week for my Monday weigh in.

its 7 weeks til my next holiday and I really want to have lost 7lbs by then, from my pre Easter weight. I was really enjoying the blood sugar diet and I am going to go back to that for a few weeks, I was getting good results and sticking to 1200-1500 cals. I am now officially training for a marathon in 6 months so I could do with getting a few pounds off because nobody ever loses weight training for a marathon in my experience 🤷‍♀️

my shopping order comes tonight and I have some nice meals planned, I am going to stick to my 3 square meals and no snacks. Lots of water. Stick to my training schedule. I’m feeling very determined
