Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! March 2026. Reset for Radiance⭐️

How was March’s Reset for Radiance for you? Not so radiant here what with an injured shoulder and a stinking virus to contend with 😅 Fingers crossed that April brings more than showers for us all!❤️

To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!
Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.

  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.

  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.

  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.

  5. Stay hydrated! 💧

  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.

  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩

  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.

  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!

  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on.

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone.

After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 3lbs.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

Hi all, also a bit of a blow out here today. Up 1 1/2lbs from Tuesday - completely undeserved I feel, but I should know better because it's probably water weight or whatever.

Just starting afresh tomorrow, lets all get back on track. Welcome @Bourneo

thenewaveragebear1983 · 11/04/2026 07:42

Right, I need to get my head back in the zone. I have had 2 weeks basically eating rubbish and I feel so unhealthy now! We had a takeaway last night, and wine. But that’s got to be it now, I’m not enjoying it anymore.

I’m going back to fast800, I was doing so well before Easter, and was feeling really good on it. I did a shopping order yesterday to come tomorrow, menu is planned and I’m planning a walk with my friends and a run this afternoon.

Fellsbells · 11/04/2026 08:23

Also checking in after eating too much. I’m really hungry at the moment. Probably a combination of poor sleep, hormones and too much sugar messing with my appetite.

Keeping things simple today by making sure I’m drinking plenty of water and getting lots of protein.

LegoTherapy · 11/04/2026 08:57

I was so hungry yesterday but Ds and I walked over 9 miles. I actually had 3 meals and none of them good: chocolate hazelnut spread on cheap white bread toast, M&S Wensleydale and carrot chutney sandwich, and a mcplant medium meal with a banana milkshake at McDonald’s although Ds ate half my fries. I had horrendous indigestion afterwards so never again on the McDonald’s! Two packets of scampi fries thanks to a thread on here that’s got me addicted to them. I had a piece of my Fortnum and Mason champagne chocolate bar, one of ds’s dairy box chocolates and 4 mini toblerones. I don’t know what came over me!

FridayNighFeeling · 11/04/2026 14:00

Out of the system now everyone and onwards and downwards Wink

LemonDrizzle23 · 11/04/2026 17:08

It seems Easter is a tricky food time for a lot of us! I was very clear with DH that I didn’t want a load of Easter chocolate and he did listen. But that means that now I have no Easter chocolate 😂 My past self saving my current self….

We had a great week away and made the best of the sunshine. There has been a lot of toast and sandwiches for packed lunches, so no idea what my weight will be on Wednesday! But good news is my ankle held up to our walking around, so I’m going to try and up my step count again now it’s lighter and sunnier.

Back to school on Tuesday here - cant believe Easter hols are basically over!

socks1107 · 12/04/2026 09:44

After a week loosely back on plan I lost a pound this week. Back in the 10s! Really am back to it tmrw. Seeing a friend today so won’t go mad but won’t restrict as I haven’t seen her for 11 years and I’m so looking forward to catching up in person

Bourneo · 12/04/2026 14:06

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing? I've survived a sleepover for my son with domino's, chocolate, crisps, cake. I was very disciplined and only had a jacket potato with cheese and 2 squares dark chocolate.

I've come to the realisation that I cannot even have a taste, as it'll derail me for months. Only just getting back on track after Christmas time. Id planned to eat 'treat' food for 2 weeks tops. But for me it just isn't a treat. It's a 3 month jail sentence! So I'm trying to accept that I just can't eat the junk at all.

Has anyone else tried this approach? How are you finding it?

ChunkyMonkey36 · 12/04/2026 15:35

@Bourneo Yeah I’m trying to avoid things I definitely shouldn’t have altogether, slippery slope. I’d rather get into the habit of not having things than try and dip between treats and salad 😂

My son passed me a tiny chunk of Wispa earlier with the words “share mummy?” (He’s autistic). It was equal parts adorable and terrifying, I out loud said “I’m not allowed that!” 😂

biscuitcat · 12/04/2026 15:47

Another one here struggling with the chocolate in the house!! DH and I decided that a fox might have got one of the kids’ Lindt bunnies yesterday 😳 but I think I’m finally starting to feel a bit more on it - we went to our usual beach cafe for lunch today and I went for the soup rather than something very beige, not because I was being especially virtuous but because it’s what I actually fancied.

I’ve also changed my Nutracheck settings to say I’m no longer breastfeeding - I am, about 3/4 times a day, but it’s so much less than a few months ago that I think my calorie requirements were probably being overestimated which will certainly have been contributing to my slow down (and actually I’ve known that for a while and been in denial so held off changing it as I wanted to eat the calories!).

Today’s menu:

B - a bit of leftover crumble (not my finest hour…)
L - potato and bacon soup with bread
D - burger, possibly with a bun depending on how hungry I’m feeling, avocado, corn on the cob

biscuitcat · 12/04/2026 15:59

@Bourneo I’m similar to you - have you read Ultra Processed People? (I’m a bit of a convert!). He talks in that about how for ultra processed foods, some people are able to just have a bit then pause, but others just can’t do that - the author being one of those - and so avoidance or eating it with the knowledge that you’re likely to have far more than initially planned is the way forward. I really struggle to moderate ultra processed foods, I’m very all or nothing, and while I don’t always succeed, knowing that about myself (and not judging myself when it does go tits up, as the companies literally design their foods to have that effect) has made a big difference.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 12/04/2026 19:42

I ran 10 miles today and walked the dog twice so I am on 26.5k steps today! I’m starting a new job tomorrow so I have to go into the office three days this week, so I spent a lovely few hours in the kitchen listening to Shrine of Duty podcast (if you’re a line of duty fan you must listen to it) and prepping my breakfasts and lunches for the week. Breakfasts will be skyr, chia and frozen fruit and lunches are big mixed bean and lentil salads with seasoned chicken and new potatoes added in- the salad should be good and filling with lots of veg added. I also cooked a roast beef dinner with cheesey mash and lots of veg 😋

tiredness and frazzled head will be my biggest problem over the next few days, starting a new role and travelling when I normally wfh, I won’t make it to my gym classes or have time for a run before work. My plan is to just do what I can, get my food right and drink lots of water and if I can exercise I will.

moondip · 12/04/2026 20:28

Hey guys. I’ve kept up the rubbishy eating since I was ill on Thursday - am really hoping tomorrow is the fresh start I need. I’m the same with junk food @biscuitcat- I can’t just have a little bit. And because I know it’s “bad” it’s like I justify going absolutely crazy/finishing the bag of choc or whatever so as to get it out of the house. But then I’m just more likely to go and get a new bag the next day. That’s what happened this weekend 😬 So I really do need to avoid it entirely.

Bourneo · 12/04/2026 22:59

@ChunkyMonkey36this is what I'm like. So I've decided it's easier not to have it at all!

@biscuitcatyes I've read most of it, need to dig it back out. Thanks for the reminder. I'm currently listening to the obesity code by Dr Jason Fung. That's an eye opening read/ listen. He talks about how a calorie isn't just a calorie and how certain foods react in the body.

For me sugar is definitely addictive, so I think I have to accept it can't have most sugary things at all. I can stop after 2 squares if 70% dark chocolate, but not galaxy or anything similar. That's like a switch has flipped. I don't just have a bad day, it'll be a bad month or 2!

With the dark chocolate I'm like, that was nice, and 2 squares is enough.

I'm also trying to limit my carbs, which i find works well for me. I feel much better if I only have carbs at tea time. Good luck everyone!

We've got this! 💪

Bourneo · 12/04/2026 23:03

@biscuitcatvery good point about not judging ourselves. The food industry spend billions making us crave this stuff. So i need to be kinder to myself when I fail ❤️

TheWayTheLightFalls · 13/04/2026 08:25

Morning, signing in for OMAD with nary a plan in sight! Argh.

FridayNighFeeling · 13/04/2026 13:46

Hi all, start of term, Monday and period has arrived after a 81 day cycle WTF?! A new record even for me. But does explain the weight climbing and the compulsion to eat everything.

Good luck to you all and yes negative self talk - you'd never say the things you say to yourself to a friend or family member would you???

LemonDrizzle23 · 13/04/2026 16:34

@Bourneo I’ve spent the last year listening to the Zoe / Tim Spector podcasts and have found them genuinely life changing. I’d never considered food as a profit making industry before, but of course they’re trying to make it tastier so you’ll eat more and therefore buy more, so they make more money! It makes so much sense! But it had literally never occurred to me….

@FridayNighFeeling81 days is brutal 😬

We’re still on Easter holidays here, so not back to routine yet. Tomorrow, tomorrow…

Bourneo · 13/04/2026 18:37

@LemonDrizzle23I'll check them out thank you! Yeah they're the worst! Only care about the money. Have you seen Joe Wicks protein bar programme, it highlights how companies only care about money and how loose the guidelines are. Scary stuff

TheWayTheLightFalls · 13/04/2026 21:37

81 days @FridayNighFeeling , urgh urgh urgh

All ok here. Healthy ready meal at 10am, caramel wafer, yoghurt, apple, done.

LemonDrizzle23 · 14/04/2026 13:21

School started up again today and it was a bit of a shock to the system! Getting straight back into our regular routine though. No more piles of sandwiches every lunch time 😂

Have stocked the fridge with good foods and did a Pilates session. Might give myself a week to get back into things before I weigh in 😬

biscuitcat · 14/04/2026 14:20

@LemonDrizzle23 are there any particular episodes of the Zoe podcasts you’d recommend? I’ve listened to one before and found it really interesting.

I really love when school starts back up, I have to say - the routine really helps me! I also work from home much more in the holidays and I find being out and about, as I am much more in term time, better too.

Today’s menu is:

B - Greek yoghurt, strawberries, seeds, honey
L - goats cheese and spinach omelette with some chips
D - chicken with spinach and croquettes

DH is away at work which is always tricky for me, so I’m hoping that the thoughts of tomorrow morning’s scales will keep me on the straight and narrow!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 14/04/2026 18:35

We are now done with school in our house! It’s technically still Easter hols here, but study leave commences straight afterwards so DS only needs to go in for his exams. I’ve ironed my last school shirt!

On weight loss, it has been a good week - over the course of wed-Tue I’ve only gone over my calorie allowance by a handful of calories without taking into consideration exercise calories. Not as much exercise as I’d like, but I’m still trying builders back up. Fingers crossed the scales are at least a pound down tomorrow!

FridayNighFeeling · 14/04/2026 18:59

Thanks for the sympathy. I'm pleased at least it's not a lot of bleeding and while I'm so ready to be done with periods (like most every woman I imagine) I don't want to reach menopause yet... only mid 40s!

Good luck for all weighing tomorrow, I won't bother!

ChunkyMonkey36 · 14/04/2026 19:10

I’ve had a good week this week food wise, really been trying to actually listen to my body and eat when I’m hungry not just because it’s 12pm, or it’s Tuesday, or the sun came out briefly.

I’ve also had a walking pad delivered and been trying to get my steps up to at least somewhat cover the “move more” bit.

If tomorrow doesn’t bring me any thanks for that, I’m going back to bed 😂. I won’t, obviously, I’ll just try again next week.

Also - thanks to those who responded to my wobble last week. It’d been a rough couple of days and I think it all fell in on itself. Feeling more optimistic, but was really grateful for that support.
