Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Optimistic October & 12 Week Countdown to Christmas⭐️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Clocks have now gone back and the nights are drawing in, Halloween is done and dusted and Bonfire Night is in a few days 😮. Meaning one thing! Christmas and all its festivities are arriving next month 😮🎄🥳

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

I’m mainly maintaining but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞(I briefly dipped into the 8’s last month but the scale showed 9st 4lb yesterday)

I was looking back through my Happy Scale app and was gutted to see that I weighed 53.15kg on Christmas Day last year so I’ve not improved this year because I’m still about the same. I did put on a few kilos after that then lost them again but even so. I said to myself I must try harder. But first there’s a Victoria sponge cake with lots of cream, strawberry jam and strawberries to eat first. A slice today and a slice tomorrow. It’s DD’s birthday.

Well we had another Christmassy / foodie weekend 😬 Burgers last night and roast duck tonight. I have looked back at my week through my Apple Watch and it has thankfully been very active. That and avoiding too many sweet treats I hope will be my saviour 😂

I have a healthy looking meal plan up until the 23rd and will carry on with my walking.

Today wasn’t going too badly to be fair, until we opened a bottle of wine and had a totally unnecessary dessert but safe to say I’m not expecting a loss this week!! No events on before WOW though, so hopefully a couple of days of sensible eating will limit this weekend’s impact.

Same for me, the last four days have been heavy and now, so am I. Hoping it’s mostly water weight because of all the salt and carbs.

I’m hitting it hard this week to get back to where I was. Plenty of water, exercise and protein. I haven’t put all this effort in to feel bloated on Christmas day.

Well after my Christmassy weekend, I have bizarrely woken up with a loss and back at my pre-illness weight of 13 st 9.8. Just a shade off my two stone loss again. Not sure how, but not going to question it too much 😁

You must be very petite @LegoTherapy because the lightest I ever weighed as an adult was 58kg and I was very thin at that point (early 20s) but at least you haven't gone in the wrong direction, so hold that as a positive.

Also an indulgent weekend here, but somehow the scales have gone down, so obviously not as bad as I thought... not quite making the 2 stone mark for the end of the year I don't think but at 25 1/4lbs this morning.

Checking in - I haven’t been calorie counting the last week and I don’t think I will now until after Christmas, just trying to not go crazily overboard with indulgence and aiming to just not gain now and start the New Year from a good place! So I’ve been sticking to just two meals a day, and my lunches have mainly been light still, dinners not too out there, but I have snacked more, mince pies of course and I’ve had a bit more alcohol than I have been doing - the Baileys is open - but stilL doing okay and deffo not as much Baileys and cheese as at this point last year 😂🙈 we haven’t even had a cheeseboard dinner yet so that’s a plus and will make the cheeseboard on Christmas Eve/Day/Boxing even better 👌😊💜

My kids have watched the Spidey Hanukkah special a million times the past couple of weeks, which centres around the baddie stealing latkes 😂 (can hardly blame them, that’s the type of baddie I’d be too!).

Today’s menu:

L - eggs and bacon with a very restrained one slice of toast
D - sausages with agrodolce sauce, croquettes and spinach

I need to get some sort of other fruit and veg in there too as there really aren’t enough there!

I need to watch that! I haven’t made latkes yet this year, need to do it. We have them with applesauce usually for even more calories .

Had my one meal plus doughnut Grin at around 10am. Between more medical nonsense and work I’ve been fine since, just coffee etc now I think.

@FridayNighFeelingI’m 5ft 3in and apart from being short, I’m not really petite. I have wide knees and elbows, a belly, batwings, chunky calves from all the walking and my arms and thoughts are quite chunky too with decent muscle but could be much better. I have skinny feet, ankles wrists, and fingers but that’s it. I’d love to be a fine-boned, graceful woman who looks great in anything but the reality is I’m genetically good peasant stock and would make a great potato dressed in burlap 😁 I’ve said on previous threads that I resemble Fairy Mary from Tinkerbell. I tried that 360 me app and Fairy Mary was the result.

Came on here to confess to just kinda throwing in the towel for Xmas and it seems we're all in the same boat 🤣🙈

There's so many lovely Christmas treats about. It's so hard! Thinking of you all. Congrats if you've managed to avoid it so far. Haha. Oh dear.

I’m quite glad I gave up chocolate until Christmas Eve. I’m amazed I’ve not missed it much except this last week I’ve fancied some. I’ve got a thing for banana yazoo though lately. I enjoyed breadsticks and hummus for lunch and had a toasted muffin for breakfast and have had a large slice of Victoria sponge. I’m so sleepy today that I can’t be bothered making any dinner. Cooking the roast yesterday was enough cooling for a while.

The gym proper re-opened today, so that might help. There's so much new equipment that I've to ask for another induction, apparently.

Tried out one of the new exercise bikes for a few minutes and then the adductor machine.

Then: "Oh, this is easy, but I'll be sensible and I'll not go above 26lbs."

Now: "Bugger! Forgot it was KILOS. Ouch!" [First weight is 5; thereafter, it goes up in increments of 7.]

ETA Also had my 45 minute Pilates class, so I'm obviously sore and stretchy - bendy arms and walking like John Wayne.

Today has been ok. I’m within calories, but nutrition has taken a hit.

25 minute work out and I’m in bed for 10pm so it’s been ok. Hopefully some of the weekend water weight will be gone by tomorrow.

I’m holding the line for not throwing in the towel!

My weight is on its way back up! I really should go out for a run, but my foot hurts 😥 it's the bit between the toes and the actual foot bit. It seems to always happen when I wear my docs. Hmmm.

Going go fast until 5oclock today anyway! I'm still below, but definitely not making 9'5

I’ve just had a fried potato butty for lunch and it really hit the spot. I’m about to do some Christmas wrapping.

I found the 360 me thingy that I took at the beginning of the year. @FridayNighFeelingI think I’ve been too hard on myself but do think there’s a Fairy Mary resemblance 🤣 I probably need to dress better but I can’t muster the energy. Why do some of us have such poor body image when actually there’s not a lot wrong with us? Sure, I STILL need to tone up but time and energy isn’t on my side.
