Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Optimistic October & 12 Week Countdown to Christmas⭐️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Clocks have now gone back and the nights are drawing in, Halloween is done and dusted and Bonfire Night is in a few days 😮. Meaning one thing! Christmas and all its festivities are arriving next month 😮🎄🥳

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

I’m mainly maintaining but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞(I briefly dipped into the 8’s last month but the scale showed 9st 4lb yesterday)

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

PS - This thread will take us up to the New Year 2026 & the thread will be January 2026🥳

@PersistentRain
I hope you feel much better very soon and your gym session goes well and kick starts you again. X

Marshmellowbunny · 23/11/2025 07:49

@FridayNighFeeling& @PersistentRain I hope you're feeling better.

@Fellsbells well done for going out running! I always stop in Winter because of the rain. I'm such a baby. I really need to try and get out this week! You're inspiring me.

Well done @Emmadaily - 2 stone. Impressive.

Read through all of the old posts and it seems as though a few of us are struggling with illness this week. Like you @readyforsunshine I've been eating more carbs too. Had crazy cravings for them!

Scales this morning are back up to 9.9.
Really want to be at 9.5 by the 19th December but we will see what happens. It's TOM atm so I'm hoping that has something to do with it! Otherwise it's 4 lbs in 4 weeks...which sounds manageable in theory, but we are eating December and I've got lots of hot chocolate/chocolates and stuff already! So we will see.

NSV though I put on some jeans that wouldn't zip up before and I really want to wear in December and they went up 🥳 I think if I lost just a couple more lbs they would definitely be more comfortable! So here goes.

Hope you're all having a fab weekend and I hope your Sunday is good.

Sorry that ended up way longer than I intended. We can do this guys 💪🏻

Fellsbells · 23/11/2025 08:00

@Marshmellowbunny hope you get out there running. At least it’s cold enough to keep layers on for the whole run now.

Went out for dinner last night and haven’t gained this morning. Averaged 9st5 this week which is a smidge above where I want to be.

CinnamonSweet73 · 23/11/2025 09:18

Hope you are all having a good weekend and anyone unwell is starting to feel better!

You are all doing so well. This is such a lovely group!

Agree I love the cold bright mornings and just been out for a lovely walk, back now for porridge and coffee.

It's been a good week, got to the gym 3 times and eating well, scales not really budging but I'll persist!

@Marshmellowbunny spin was great Wednesday, a new teacher with some fun music! Great news with the jeans zipping up, I love that feeling!

Have a lovely Sunday all!

Marshmellowbunny · 23/11/2025 09:29

@Fellsbells true! I have had to ditch the shorts. They did have a handy pocket for my phone so I could listen to podcasts and that kept me entertained. I wonder if that's part of the reason that I haven't been out as well. Hmm. I need to find some leggings with a handy pocket. Hmm.

@CinnamonSweet73 maybe I need to find somewhere to try it and see what it's all about! & Thank you. Yeah, it's a good feeling. I was trying to explain to my partner why it made me feel good, but I ended up rambling about the fact that it's on a par with taking your socks off under the blankets in bed and he just looked at me like I was crazy 🤣🙈
I'm glad you get it!

biscuitcat · 23/11/2025 09:40

@Marshmellowbunny the M&S Goodmove leggings have a handy phone pocket! My commitment to couch to 5k has not stood up to family life sadly! Littlest DS starts nursery in January and I’m not back to work until March so my plan is to actually start it properly then when for at least two runs a week childcare is sorted and not kick myself about it until then.

FridayNighFeeling · 23/11/2025 10:04

NSV - my wedding and engagement rings fit again
Scales are a whole 1.5kg/3lbs down from Monday Shock - total loss at 23lbs/10.6kg

LemonDrizzle23 · 23/11/2025 11:51

I’m going to join the ill crowd - woke up with a stinking cold this morning! Grr. Not really a surprise as DS has had a croaky voice this week. Hopefully it’ll only be a few days out of normal routine. So annoying!

Excellent NSV @FridayNighFeeling

Oo thank you. I'll check them out! I finished the couch to 5k and I was doing the extra runs. Maybe that's another reason that I stopped. I need the structure.

It's so hard to fit them in as well isn't it? But yeah, it's a good idea to not beat yourself up until then. I might do similar and start again in January! I'll try and get out for a couple of runs in December, but same as you I won't kick myself if I don't do it regularly 💕

PersistentRain · 23/11/2025 13:52

Weight up this morning, did a light session at the gym and I am shattered! Least I went.

LegoTherapy · 23/11/2025 18:34

I‘m finally coming out of my burn out evidenced by having cooked 3 homemade meals from scratch in the past 10 days. We had macaroni cheese and cauliflower and broccoli cheese tonight. Small potion of macaroni but ate quite a lot of the cauliflower and broccoli and enjoyed it. I’ve not been cooking properly for months now except a homemade pizza perhaps, or soups. I’ve been exhausted and couldn’t be bothered to even try things the dc probably wouldn’t eat.

FridayNighFeeling · 23/11/2025 20:07

I think the deciding what to eat/trying to please everyone is such a daunting thing @LegoTherapy especially when times are tough.

Sighthoundsforever · 23/11/2025 20:56

Am with the sick club too. Hope you all get better very soon. I have a terrible toothache. Got emergency treatment yesterday but hasn’t worked. Might have to get root canal. Only silver lining but not worth it - is it’s too sore to eat. 🤣. All I can manage is yogurts. 4lbs down over past 3 weeks. Hoping for 4 more by Christmas 🎅🏾. Best of luck everyone and hope you get better very soon

socks1107 · 23/11/2025 21:38

Just checking in, I’ve been unwell last week and then a weekend away but lots of walking so I may have balanced it out. Will see in the morning.
ill have a good catch up now now

Emmadaily · 23/11/2025 22:18

@Marshmellowbunny @FridayNighFeeling
Well done ☺
Also everyone else to
Yes alot of not so well people here 😔
Hopefully alot better very soon

My fella not good either cough cough cough . I hope I don't get it to as won't be able see my mum in her nursing home 😔

Get better soon everyone xx

CatPawprints · 24/11/2025 08:31

Sending get well soon wishes to all fighting off winter bugs.

Been off the thread last few days. Not managed to make much of an effort except for holding back a bit from snacks. Also after a lot of stodgy winter warmer food I'm really craving a salad today - something fresh and crunchy.

Hope you all have a great Monday!

TheWayTheLightFalls · 24/11/2025 09:34

Signing in for my OMAD day. Will be an omelette and homemade hash browns shortly, and then just coffee etc from there. I've also got a pot of a low-calorie veggie soup on the hob so that tomorrow/Wednesday is easy for meals, I often battle to eat something decent after I finish work.

Weekend was broadly fine but I was invited out for pizza, twice! Both in circumstances where it would have been rude not to eat something. Broadly fine I think, tried to factor it in to my calories for the day.

biscuitcat · 24/11/2025 10:00

Oooh homemade hash browns sound delicious @TheWayTheLightFalls!

I’m having carrot soup with some bread for lunch and French onion mac and cheese for dinner today - very much looking forward to both. Now that the weather has turned I’m after warming comfort food so I need to make sure I’m not always choosing ones full of cheese and butter!!

TheRealHousewife · 24/11/2025 10:46

Good Morning Everyone

Ive been laid up with a trapped nerve in my back which on top of everything else has been a bit tough. Nonetheless I’m doing what I can and moving when able 👍

No change in weight, effectively maintaining. Only problem is I’m maintaining at 9st 2lb rather than 8st 10lb 😅. I’m not going any lower in cals (1000-1200) and formal exercise is difficult so it is what it is.

How I see it is if I didn’t remain mindful and track macros/cals I’d be a lot heavier which at 5ft (on a good day) isn’t good as extra weight lowers my health markers. Before I lost weight (nearly 4stone) I’d been gaining month on month.

Menu
Meal 1 - Chicken, Vegetable & Mixed Bean soup. GF crackers.
Meal 2 - Cod, butter beans, leeks, peas & broccoli. Greek yoghurt.
Drinks - Tea, black coffee & water.

Will be catching up on the thread this afternoon.

PS - Remember there won’t be a separate December thread and we will start 2026 with a brand new sparkly January thread 🥰

Hi @TheRealHousewife
Very sorry to hear that you have not been well and it's restricted your mobility .
I hope you get better very soon and the nerve trapped will release itself very soon
Takes time I know

You are still eating really healthy and I'm sure you will continue this and once you are better you are certain to get up and running
Take good care of yourself and i look forward to the new year brand new shiney sparkly thread xx

FridayNighFeeling · 24/11/2025 14:22

Ah I'm sorry to hear about germs, coughs, toothache and especially a trapped nerve @TheRealHousewife

What a dull and dreary day - did see the sun briefly this morning. Yes, comfort food is the key now which makes it harder to keep to calories

WearyAuldWumman · 24/11/2025 18:49

Weight is sticking. Scuppered right knee a wee bit with stand-in trainer on Saturday. My own fault. Should have stopped.

At the moment, mainly doing pilates.

PersistentRain · 25/11/2025 09:13

My weights is definitely up after illness. So annoyed. Going to the gym today though.

Gingercar · 25/11/2025 11:18

Have you taken measurements as well? It can really lift you on a bad week. This week I seem to have put a lb on for the first time in six months. If anything, I’ve not eaten enough and have grabbed a bag of (low fat) crisps twice when rushing instead of a meal.
But it’s six months this week since I started and I’m 3.5 stones down. I got the book I’ve been writing my measurements in, and I added up the losses, Im absolutely lifted by the results, instead of focusing on the lb on.
1.5” off my upper arms
1.5” off my neck
5” off my huge bust
9.5” off my upper middle (roll of back fat!)
7” off my waist
8” off my hips
4” off my thighs
2” off my calves
1” off my ankles
2 dress sizes down

Emmadaily · 25/11/2025 11:25

@Gingercar
Wel.done 👏
That is absolutely fantastic
You sure must feel so much better
Keep up your excellent work
As CRAIG would say off Strictly come dancing
