Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Optimistic October & 12 Week Countdown to Christmas⭐️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Clocks have now gone back and the nights are drawing in, Halloween is done and dusted and Bonfire Night is in a few days 😮. Meaning one thing! Christmas and all its festivities are arriving next month 😮🎄🥳

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

I’m mainly maintaining but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞(I briefly dipped into the 8’s last month but the scale showed 9st 4lb yesterday)

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

PS - This thread will take us up to the New Year 2026 & the thread will be January 2026🥳

I weigh every day and use the Happy Scale app which tracks the trends of your changes.

Thank you, I'll have a look at that app

Sukiesue12 · 20/11/2025 12:08

Well done to all losing! I have been stuck at my beginning weight for a week which has been annoying as my exercise has gone up massively so I feel the pain. However finally made it below 85 this morning (84.7kg). I am not eating as well as I need to to be looking at number beginning with 7 by the new year. Today is a day of not eating amazingly with cake so have done a good session at the gym to offset some of it

Marshmellowbunny · 20/11/2025 12:40

Well done @Fellsbells and @LemonDrizzle23

@CinnamonSweet73 hope spin class was good. It sounds so exciting but it's just regular exercise isn't it? 🤣

@Fellsbells we also saw a person with snow on the car and pointed! Hmmm. Wonder where it came from?

@mamauplift I've started weighing every day and use the fancy renpho app that came with the scales we got to see progress. I used to just go off how my clothes fit, but that didn't work so here we are! I don't have an iPhone so I can't get HappyScale.

Well done everyone for checking in yesterday 🩷 weather here is blue skies which definitely makes it more appealing to go out and walk! It's very cold though. Brrr. I keep drinking too many cups of tea. I'm up to 4 already today 🤣🙈

Hope you all have a good day! I've just read through all of the posts, sorry if I've missed responding to any good news!

Alwayslearning25 · 20/11/2025 14:13

I ate unhealthy yesterday, fortunately the scales this morning, I'm still under 75kg...I am home with a sick child. Only having lunch now, havent been hungry this morning my breakfast of porridge with ground seed and nut mix and peanut butter filled me up. Lunch is homemade butternut squash soup. I added a bit too much chilli, so have tried adding Kefir to my bowl and would recommend. Instead of bread I've added some seeds on the top '3 seed mix'. Trying to up my protein with seeds, I'm not veggie but seeds and nuts are and easy addition.

I'm not counting calories, having got time or inclination at the moment, maybe soon...

FridayNighFeeling · 20/11/2025 18:19

Sounds delicous @Alwayslearning25 I made a big vat of minestrone yesterday to have with some rye.

I don't weigh daily @mamauplift but probably 4 weekdays out of 5...

Today has been maintenance calories or a bit over, but that's OK. Pain level better than yesterday, but no magic cure.

Fellsbells · 20/11/2025 21:48

Average day for me. 1lb up from yesterday.

B- pastry
L- sour dough bread and chicken. Carrot cake.
D- pasta bolognaise. Dark chocolate.
S- some sweets and jaffa cakes.

bit sugary now I’ve written it all down. Fortunately I’ve done a 6.5km run tonight so I don’t feel bad about it.

I don’t think I can ever give running up now because I don’t want to give up all the extra calories it gives me on Nutracheck. Lovely yummy calories.

mamauplift · 20/11/2025 23:39

I have downloaded the happy scale app. I like the idea that it works out your average from the ups and downs. Today has been another good day, though I was really craving something sweet earlier. I had peaches and dark chocolate (thankfully there wasn't much else sweet in the house, and it's very white outside so driving isn't advisable.

Today I have had:
B: bagel, cream cheese and peaches
S: cashew nuts
L: chicken, cheese, crackers and salad
D: thai curry and rice
S: 2 squares dark chocolate, grapes and peaches
0% peroni

Calories: 1855, protein: 94.4g

biscuitcat · 21/11/2025 11:07

My day yesterday was dreadful - way above maintenance calories even I think! Was just so tired and run down, and annoyingly none of the snacking even hit the spot as I was after crisps and we didn’t have any in the house. But luckily the scale today hasn’t punished me, so I’ll chalk it up to a bad day and move on.

Feeling very domestic today, I have a beef bourgignon cooking away to go in the freezer, as I needed to use up a bottle of utterly undrinkable red wine we opened the other day.

Today’s menu:

B - yoghurt with blueberries
L - cheese, cucumber and marmite sandwich
D - biscuits and gravy (American style!), with green veg of some kind

LemonDrizzle23 · 21/11/2025 12:38

Another happy scale fan here. Given how much weight can fluctuate on a daily basis, it’s really nice to still see the overall trend going down.

Went on quite a risky, slippery walk this morning 😂 It’s still absolutely freezing here, but was nice getting some morning sun. After a very quiet month, the socialising will start to ramp up now, starting with lunch out tomorrow. Going to keep up my walking and make sure I’m not eating too much junk inbetween meals out.

What are people up to this weekend? We’re out for sushi tomorrow and then the two Christmas fair is on Sunday, which feels a bit early! But should be fun.

ChillWith · 21/11/2025 23:10

12st 12 after a week of stress and illness but fully expect to be back above 13st next week!

Fellsbells · 21/11/2025 23:11

Good day for me.

B-pancake
L-sourdough and chicken
D-curry and rice
S-dark chocolate

30mins pilates.

NSV put on a cropped sports top and leggings and actually liked the way I looked.

FridayNighFeeling · 22/11/2025 07:52

Hibernating @LemonDrizzle23 Grin and trying to stay in deficit which has been a challenge all week

Have a good one all!

readyforsunshine · 22/11/2025 08:50

Morning! Have been ill this week & although eating has not been awful I have had more carbs. Missed the weds weigh in but am up 2 lbs this morning so need to be 3lbs down by Weds weigh in to stay on track🥴
off to read back posts for some inspiration!

readyforsunshine · 22/11/2025 09:19

Have caught up & love how positive & sensible this group is! Well done to all those losing but also those maintaining/having dips but sticking at it. I have my daughter back home just now which has also affected me eating more carbs & I do find I get more hungry soon after meals.
We will all be eating out a bit more in the coming weeks, I plan on trying to select the lighter options as much as possible & embrace the change. My go to’s are often the rich, creamy mash, cheesy, slow cooked type options so it will be good to shake things up.

Captainladder · 22/11/2025 09:22

Hello all, just checking as for some reason updates to this tread are not popping up in my gmail any more and then I forget! Had a Quick Look at what's going on - seems lots of bugs about - I've also been hit by the lurgy! Have been plodding along with the loss .... am down to 94.8 kgs but weightloss seems to be slowing a bit now.
Have a lovely weekend all - I think mine is going to be staying inside as much as possible and resting!!!

LegoTherapy · 22/11/2025 09:49

Well done on the losses! Get well soon to those unwell.

I got my blood results back yesterday and am
no longer pre-diabetic!! My levels dropped by 6 points. I’ve not changed much in my diet so I’m still thinking it was some kind of anomaly. My means are pretty much the same, I still eat loads of carbs and have a lot of sugar on my porridge yet it’s dropped massively. I’ve asked the GP if I can now come off the stupid course they put me on. It’s a good course for those who are overweight and don’t exercise but for me it’s been a waste of time and it told me to lose weight even though I’m already on the small side so it just annoyed me. I am no longer going to feel guilty when I eat things I love.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 22/11/2025 10:16

That’s brilliant @LegoTherapy , what a relief.

All ok here, weight down again despite an unremarkable day yesterday. Last week or so looks like:

73.5 - 14 November
72.9 - 15 November
72.9 - 16 November
73.7 - 17 November
73.2 - 18 November
73.2 - 19 November
72.9 - 20 November
72.9 - 21 November
72.3 - 22 November

Lots of big swings. No rhyme or reason. This is why I weigh daily! Grin Would lose my mind otherwise.

You can drop off the course whenever you like. Over 60%!have dropped out of mine since June. I’ve quite enjoyed it, but I do have weight to lose and I like that it keeps me on track knowing I’m going to be weighed!

LegoTherapy · 22/11/2025 11:40

@Gingercarthere’s about 3 or 4 people in my group now. The GP I saw previously a few months ago was impressed I was a risky doing it because most people don’t bother.

Fellsbells · 22/11/2025 15:05

Happy Saturday.

I love this group being called sensible and positive.

zero food variety for me, I’m just eating the same every day.

5.5km run/walk despite yesterday’s pilates making me ache so much today! I’m not sure I’ll manage tomorrow’s run. I feel like Sara Cox <dramatic->

biscuitcat · 22/11/2025 17:50

Amazing news @LegoTherapy!

We’ve had a nice wholesome day with the kids making Christmas cards and decorating gingerbread men (while sheltering from the rain!!).

Today’s food:

B - banana and a cappuccino
L - cheese, marmite and cucumber sandwich
D - chicken Katsu curry

LemonDrizzle23 · 22/11/2025 18:23

Glad to hear it @LegoTherapy it always seemed vaguely unnecessary given your measurements and activity levels!

Well us popping out for lunch turned into a 4hr round trip sat in traffic in the pouring rain! I think there was a lot of Black Friday sales shopping going on. DH and DS still reckon it was worth it. I’m mostly glad to be home and in dry socks 😂

Emmadaily · 22/11/2025 20:43

Hi everyone

Hope you are all ok
Well done everyone on the losses and even if not l a loss its great you are trying . Get better soon to all who are not well yes it's the time of the year again 😔
I went to my weekly weigh in this morning at Slimming world
I'm now 8 stone 12 after a 2 pound loss which again surprised me .
My slimming consultant advised me to eat more as i have gone 4 pounds under target.
If pùt a pound on for next I won't be penalised by having to pay the fee
So yes ate more today though not alot more still no bread though
I'm hoping to maintain after this week and as a few events are coming up I think it will be ok.
2 stones less now I feel so much better and intend to start the new year a much more healthier me.
Have a great weekend everyone and good luck on the WOW xx

PersistentRain · 22/11/2025 20:51

Being unwell has thrown me and I’ve gotten a real taste for sugar/snacking again. Back to the gym tomorrow after a week for an easy session. I don’t want to go either and usually I’m desperate, you can see how easily these things can fall away.
weight has been up and down, but lots of salt and treats.
