Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Optimistic October & 12 Week Countdown to Christmas⭐️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Clocks have now gone back and the nights are drawing in, Halloween is done and dusted and Bonfire Night is in a few days 😮. Meaning one thing! Christmas and all its festivities are arriving next month 😮🎄🥳

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs.

I’m mainly maintaining but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞(I briefly dipped into the 8’s last month but the scale showed 9st 4lb yesterday)

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

PS - This thread will take us up to the New Year 2026 & the thread will be January 2026🥳

Another slight loss today. We are having a roast dinner today and although it will only be the vegetables and stuffing I eat I imagine I’ll see a gain tomorrow.

Fellsbells · 16/11/2025 15:16

A tale of two halves as usual. Yesterday I ate way too much. Today I ran 10km. We’ll see how it all looks on the scales tomorrow!

B- shot
L- roast dinner (no Yorkshire pudding) brownie and ice cream.
D- salmon pesto pasta

LemonDrizzle23 · 16/11/2025 17:44

Well we have had a delightful weekend full of friends and family. Yesterday involved impromptu cake and today involved an impromptu roast lunch 😂 so I imagine the scale will be a bit unfriendly tomorrow morning! Worth it though. Great weekend.

I have a caponata slowly cooking on the stove. Not massively hungry, so that and some bread and butter will be perfect I think.

Back to real life tomorrow. Weather looks vaguely reasonable next week, so I shall be clocking up the steps.

Emmadaily · 16/11/2025 18:40

@LemonDrizzle23
Sounds a fab weekend and yes all worth it and you will soon put things right 😊@Fellsbells good luck tomorrow you might surprise yourself
@LegoTherapy you might find all is ok and maintained
Good luck everyone and have a great week xx

socks1107 · 16/11/2025 19:22

@biscuitcat I'm also heading for the three stone mark by Xmas. I’ve 2.5lbs to go.
a long weekend away next week that may skew that but I am hopeful. We can absolutely do this and if not we’ve lost a serious amount of weight regardless of the few extra pounds

FridayNighFeeling · 16/11/2025 20:05

Hi oldies Wink and newbies!

Had a lovely weekend, will see what the scales make of things Mon-Fri

Find it really hard to keep all the plates spinning eg exercise, nutrition & planning alongside real life, but will keep going as best as possible.

Well done @Emmadaily in particular

LegoTherapy · 16/11/2025 21:10

I’ve had two slices of homemade lemon drizzle today made by my lovely godmother. Dinner was lovely and I was stuffed. I did have two slices of Quorn roast to be festive with the children. I don’t know how people can eat a starter, a big roast and then pudding. I had the cake 3 hours after the meal. For supper 😁 and one earlier for lunch. So today has comprised of pate on toast for breakfast, cake for lunch, roast potatoes, mushy peas, garden peas, cauliflower, broccoli, honey roast carrots and parsnips, stuffing and cranberry sauce for dinner. And cake for supper. No snacks.
Tomorrow I should get my blood results and see if eating any better day to day has improved my sugar levels.
Here’s to a great week ahead for us all!

TheWayTheLightFalls · 17/11/2025 07:07

Morning, signing in for my OMAD day. Lots of good family meals on the weekend but - I started taking magnesium for a sudden sleep issue and it gave me terrible stomach cramps (and then the inevitable) so I’m not feeling great. So as a small public service announcement - if you want to try magnesium to improve sleep, you need magnesium glycinate, not magnesium chloride. Will try soldier on.

CatPawprints · 17/11/2025 08:43

Hope you feel better soon @TheWayTheLightFalls I never knew there were different types of magnesium supplements. I bet that catches loads of people out.

I've managed to maintain over the weekend at 10st8, despite period starting, wine and ice cream. Had to have small portions elsewhere to make up for it.

Plan for today is get as many steps in as I can over lunch and half an hour on rowing machine tonight. Fishcakes and asparagus for tea.

Happy Monday everyone!

LemonDrizzle23 · 17/11/2025 10:47

Woke up to another low weight today, so obviously didn’t do too much damage over the weekend! A good lesson in why not to throw the towel in after just a couple of days off track.

Non scale victory, today I hit a BMI of 31, down from 36 when I started. So close to only being overweight instead of obese. Genuinely thrilled.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 17/11/2025 20:34

One meal this morning and just coffee etc since. Plus a lot of herbal tea this evening, suddenly freezing here! Hope everyone else has had a good day.

FridayNighFeeling · 17/11/2025 20:48

It's bloomin' baltic! I do know about different types of Magnesium and the right one definitely helps with sleep. Hope it works for you @TheWayTheLightFalls

No it really doesn't @LemonDrizzle23

Scales this morning said back to lowest weight - 20lbs down. Period seems to be here so holding steady for now.

Have a good week all

mamauplift · 17/11/2025 21:15

Thank you for everyone’s positive messages. I weighed this morning at 16 stone 4. My first goal will be to reach 15 stone ‘something’. I have eaten the following today:
B: seeded bagel, philadelphia and strawberries
L: chicken salad baguette (using a part baked baguette that was delicious)
S: cheese, wholewheat crackers and grapes
D: asian salmon meal from Tesco (the whole lot as 1 portion looked tiny!)
S: blueberry muffin that I had leftover from last week. Alcohol free g&t.

I didn’t count calories as I went along, but have just put them into nutracheck (some estimations) and I have eaten 2001 calories, and 107g protein. For my size, I am really happy with that. I am going to continue like I have today until I feel ready to weigh and measure. Oh, and today is day 15 without alcohol.

Fellsbells · 17/11/2025 22:58

Average day.
L- sourdough & tomatoes
D- salmon, pesto spaghetti and green beans. Strawberries and ice cream.
S- a mars bar that I regret!

FridayNighFeeling · 18/11/2025 08:26

You should never regret chocolate @Fellsbells but I guess our bodies get used to a certain way of eating and then a little thing can feel too much.

Well done @mamauplift - sounds like lots of positive changes. Just tracking initially can be really helpful before you try to implement any new regimes.

Well blow me down, I'm down nearly a lb on yesterday, so will keep checking in without worrying too much. If I can get another 1lb I will be half way.

Gingercar · 18/11/2025 09:21

Another 1lb off for me. I’m probably not going to hit the next stone off mark for Xmas or new year target at this rate, but I won’t be too far off and at least they keep coming off (touch wood!).

CatPawprints · 18/11/2025 09:23

Well did not manage any exercise last night, but also didn't snack after tea. I'm working late tonight and will be running around sorting stuff so that will have to count as today's exercise.

If I can lose 2 more pounds this month I'll have lost half a stone on November. I know that will have me feeling a lot happier in myself at the start of December. Hoping this will give me the push to stay focused next couple of weeks

Alwayslearning25 · 18/11/2025 09:43

Just popping in to say in keeping my weight below 75kg

PersistentRain · 18/11/2025 10:18

Weight dropped slightly (and back up a bit now) but I am sick as a dog with a head cold. So no gym and I am craving sugar like mad.
at least if I’m sick I shouldn’t be hungry, not fair

Alwayslearning25 · 18/11/2025 12:54

@PersistentRain same with the cold Which is man flu for the males in my family. I just want to eat all the biscuits once 3 year old is down for his nap

PersistentRain · 18/11/2025 14:40

@Alwayslearning25DH has had it for 5 days (and haven’t we known about it!!) really thought I had swerved it.

biscuitcat · 18/11/2025 16:24

@Alwayslearning25 @PersistentRain I’ve made it a policy that if DH won’t take paracetamol for what ails him then he is entitled to no sympathy or mollycoddling whatsoever 😂 and @Alwayslearning25 I’m so envious that your 3 year old naps, my 2.5 year old dropped his before he was 2, the little so and so…

I’ve not had too bad a day today so far, despite being knackered and parenting solo, which I’ll take as a small victory. The cold weather meant I had porridge instead of yoghurt for breakfast (with a spoon of my homemade mincemeat - getting into the festive spirit early!), and annoyingly that’s a fair amount more calories which impacts the rest of the day.

Alwayslearning25 · 18/11/2025 20:58

@biscuitcat he is just turned 3, and my eldest stopped by 2.5 so I am very happy about it. But he didn't do more than cat nap (20 minutes max) until he was 18 months so he's making up for it and holding on to it. He is a very early riser though but definitely needs his nap. Esspecaly when Ill...

Fellsbells · 18/11/2025 22:20

Just had a closer look at my nutracheck data. I tend to focus on calories and ignore everything else. I’m always far too low on protein so I’m going to focus on increasing that. My saturated fat is also far too high, nearly double what it should be. I’m surprised because I thought I are reasonably well, but apparently not.

I was over calories today despite a 5km run. Aim for tomorrow is eat protein and veg and not mini magnums.

mamauplift · 18/11/2025 22:51

I’m loving reading everyone’s posts, they’re so positive.

I’m happy with my day again today. I did the same as yesterday and tracked at the end of the day.

B: seeded bagel, cream cheese and strawberries
S: almonds
L: chicken salad baguette
D: chicken and pancetta bake with a steam fresh veg bag
S: grapes and 2 squares of dark chocolate.
Drink: sparkling water, and alcohol free g&t

My calories today are 1,890 and I’ve had 98g protein.

I did jump on the scales this morning but I know the first few days may be up and down like a yoyo whilst my body adjusts. It showed that I was down 1.8lbs from yesterday which is obviously great, but I know that won’t be fat quite yet!
