Hi
I can't keep on putting down my extra stone to baby flab as youngest dd now 2!
Managed to lose weight without too much hassle after 1st 2 dd's but for some yukky reason I just can't seem to shift that last stone after dd3!
Desperately need to lose a stone by 14th June as am going to big posh 60th - I already have the outfit to wear but it's way too tight at the mo.

Is there any-one else out there who would like to chat for support when it gets tough? I'm not really going to follow any specific diet but any tips gratefully received. My main problem is white wine - it just slips down so easily & one glass is never enough! I then get the mega munchies!

Ooooh me! I've started doing daily workouts at the gym and am trying to be good food-wise.

Also struggle with wine so am totally cutting it out, alongside choc, sweets, puddings etc. Oh and trying (failing!) to drink 2 litres of water a day.

My Dad is getting married on June 27th and I don't want to look like a heffer.

Jo10Go · 10/05/2008 17:48

Hi MissingMyHeels - I've also joined the gym & try & go as often as poss, depending on when dh gets home from work.
Good for you in totally cutting out the wine - really wish I could! Am going to start by cutting it out during the week & see how that goes.

a stone by 14th june? count me in. Have been vey good in terms of not eating any junk in past week but for some reason haven't lost any weight. must get back to the pool/on the cross trainer.

bruhaha · 10/05/2008 18:10

i'll do it too. My ds is getting baptised on 22nd June and it's a big greek affair. I'll not know anyone as it's in London and we live in Glasgow so my family can't go (both parents disabled). It's all my dh side who didn't come to the wedding and i'll be meeting for the first time - so deffo don't want to look like a moomin

i've joined weightwatchers and curves - not doing great at ww but being going to curves religiously for 3 weeks and feel no different really.

Jo10Go · 10/05/2008 18:23

bruhaha what's curves?
Am off to a hot tub party soon where I know there will be lots of food & alcohol so am starting on straight & narrow tomorrow.

bruhaha · 10/05/2008 18:28

curves is a 30 min workout 3 times a week. they have them all over the place. It's like a mini gym

wannaBe · 10/05/2008 18:33

I have a cross trainer, a rower and a multi jim in my garage and I cannot get up the motivation to get on them. I know that once I have started it'll be fine but something just keeps coming up, had a cold/ds was ill and now I have some kind of thing in my ears that has thrown me off balance. but tomorrow I shall begin in ernest.

we are going to le manoir on the 13th of june (birthday present from my mum) so I want to buy a new outfit for then.

MissingMyHeels · 10/05/2008 19:32

Oooh bruhaha I used to be a member of curves - no longer have one near me unfortunately! Didn't feel like it was doing anything and then I was weighed and had lost 16lb in a month! Have you weighed yourself yet?

My gym has a creche so I find myself pretty motivated to go as with an 8 week old baby the time to myself is just lovely - even if it is exercise.

I am going to start being really good tomorrow as whilst I'm not going to a party - a hot tub party sounds fab, not a swingers party is it? ;) - I am treating myself to parma ham pizza!

bruhaha · 10/05/2008 20:01

mmh - i only lost 1/2lb at weightwatchers on tuesday but they said it was because i didn't eat enough points! flamin nora - told her it would not be a problem to eat more. Went 4 times last week as i am getting desperate. Had a cold this week but still managed to go this morning but will need to go tomorrow and monday.

If my place had a creche i'd be there everyday.

My exciting dinner is fish fingers - no alcohol though.

Jo10Go · 11/05/2008 09:20

Good morning!
Wow really wish my gym had a creche!
Hot tub party great (no swingers!!!)
Off to the beach today & feeling crap as just put shorts on YUK what a sight - has given me added motivation to get slim.
Am about to make huge salad for lunch now.

Hi, I want to do this too. I'm starting right now. I'd like to resurrect my "thin" (pre-pregnancy) wardrobe which is currently in storage.

quarkee · 11/05/2008 10:42

Hi - can I join in please? Want to lose about a stone in time for SIL wedding in July also its been a tough time recntly and I am a massive comfort eater so i need all the help I can get!!! Have just had a slice of golden syrup cake (oh dear) so you can see what I mean... think I will cut out wine in the week too and NOT SNACK!!

mrsflowerpot · 11/05/2008 10:43

Oh yes, me too - I'm going on a girlie reunion that weekend and I've clothes I really want to wear that I can't at the moment. I've lost a stone and a half since Christmas but I've totally stalled this last month - eating habits have slipped again and the lure of white wine in the garden is a killer in the warm weather. Think it's time to have a 'dry' month again.

I have been running lots, but again that's slipped a bit in the last few weeks so I need to kick myself back out of the door.

bruhaha · 11/05/2008 13:36

been to curves this morning - think it is helping my cold, sweating it out of me!

took 3 bags of pre pregnancy clothes from the loft yesterday and will get my dh to put all 3 back today! my fave jeans i wore before pg still don't fit

WilfSell · 11/05/2008 13:49

OK I'm up for it. I have lots more to lose but need to do it a stone at a time. Am probably having a party around then so would be happy to be in a size smaller.

But I'm afraid I can only start once I have drunk/eaten all the spare wine/cheese/crisps/pate left over from having friends over in the sun this weekend. Ooops...

I will commit to powerwalking 4 times a week though... and back on the WW points next week

Will we keep bumping the thread then/

Jo10Go · 11/05/2008 18:18

Welcome every-one - hope you've all had a good day in this brill sunshine - doesn't it make salads that much easier to like?
Well not been too bad today. Will weigh myself tomorrow morning to get a proper start weight. We will lose that stone

quarkee · 11/05/2008 18:37

On the scales tomoarrwo morning definately - BBQ tonight though - last drink of a dying woman and all that...

wessexgirl · 11/05/2008 18:40

Oh, I'm up for this. I lost a stone over Jan/Feb but it's been creeping back since Easter, and I'm going on holiday June 13th.

I'm going to cut down on wine, cut out junk and do half hour a day on my mini-stepper thing.

(Might have a glass or two tonight though...)

Elloeise · 11/05/2008 19:02

Hi i'd love to join, i did lose over a stone after christmas but unfortanlly ever since those easter egg came knocking on my door i've been lossing and gaining the same 3lb's every few weeks So now the sunshines here it's defentally time to get some motervation and do something about this weight! Before i spend another summer feeling uncomfrotable about the way i look

MissingMyHeels · 11/05/2008 19:29

How about we all "weigh in" tomorrow and then post daily of an evening (where possible) what we have eaten that day? Being as honest as possible!

Could possibly make us think more about what we are eating?

I went to a BBQ this afternoon, lots of lovely salad and chicken - you're so right about the weather making it easier to be healthy! Plus I declined the wine, hurrah.

DoubleBluff · 11/05/2008 19:37

I am goin gon a henweekend that weekend - and two of my friends are real gym bunniies so will feel enormous unless I loose some weight by then. Count me in!

Jo10Go · 11/05/2008 20:27

missingmyheels - yes a weigh in & then posting what we ate sounds a good plan! Well done for resisting the wine!
You do sound very motivated especially as your little one is only 8 weeks old!

OP posts:
bruhaha · 11/05/2008 20:38

do we put our weight on here - or just keep a mental note and say how much we lose next monday?

Jo10Go · 11/05/2008 20:55

Well I guess it should be up to the individual but hopefully in posting your weight it will make this slimming more meaningful! Am dreading my weigh in - not been on scales for a while1

OP posts:
wannaBe · 11/05/2008 21:13

well I was mostly good today! I got up and did 45 stomach crunches on the weights, 5 mins on the rower and 10 mins on the cross trainer, had only bran flakes for breakfast.
But we did have a bbq and I had sausage, steak and a kebab, and some pasta salad. I don't like wine though so that's one thing I'm not tempted by.

And then I repeated my morning exercise this evening!

I am doubly motivated as my mother pissed me off this afternoon by telling me I'm obese. I'm a size 12! and although I do know I am overweight I am fairly certain I am not obese. she on the other hand... .
