Hi
I can't keep on putting down my extra stone to baby flab as youngest dd now 2!
Managed to lose weight without too much hassle after 1st 2 dd's but for some yukky reason I just can't seem to shift that last stone after dd3!
Desperately need to lose a stone by 14th June as am going to big posh 60th - I already have the outfit to wear but it's way too tight at the mo.

Is there any-one else out there who would like to chat for support when it gets tough? I'm not really going to follow any specific diet but any tips gratefully received. My main problem is white wine - it just slips down so easily & one glass is never enough! I then get the mega munchies!

How daft of your mother, wannaBe .

I remember being a size 10 for about 5 minutes when I was 18 - my mum fretted that I was anorexic! She got the rhubarb crumbles and cheesecakes out every time I was home from university until I fattened up again. .

I was all excited about starting new regime tomorrow and then remembered - it's my wedding anniversary and I'm going out for dinner. Perhaps leave it just one more day...

LolaLadybird · 11/05/2008 21:19

Hi All - count me in too! DS is 5 months old and I've decided it's time to shift the baby weight. Have a ball to go to in July and then a wedding in August as added incentives but really just want to fit into pre-pg clothes and not feel huge all summer .

Starting ww at home tomorrow so was planning a starting weigh-in anyway - excellent timing!

hercules1 · 11/05/2008 21:21

Can I join? I have a stone to lose too and 14th June seems a good day to do so by. Will start with earnest tomorrow.

CJMommy · 11/05/2008 22:01

Think I would like to join too. Would like (need) to loose two stone so will weigh in tomorrow. planning to do WW at home. DH is on a diet and has lost 7lbs in 3 weeks so I have no excuse!

OneLieIn · 11/05/2008 22:06

Please please please can I join too??

I have lost 7lbs in 10 days, but need so much to lose a ton more (like 3 stone ton). June 14th would be a good target as it is our anniversary and I would like to wear a sexy frock....

So, weigh in tomorrow, great start to a Monday morning.

Jo10Go · 12/05/2008 08:09

OnelieIn 7lbs in 10 days is fantastic - how did you do it?
Am really pee'ed off after my weighin - thought I was under 11 stone but in fact am 11 3 1/2! OMG. Have got myself a note book to fill in with every thing I eat or drink so hope to see where I could be going wrong. I can't afford to do WW or SW so am just going to have to try & be sensible.

Morning everyone - I too am p o at my weigh in I appear to have put on a kilo without realising So am 71.4kg which is about 11 stone 4lbs - am depressed. I converted it using 16 lbs to a stone ant came out at just over 9 anda ahalf - was for a moment there!!!!

Good idea re note book jo - may try to do the same ....

bruhaha · 12/05/2008 08:43

bloody hell 13st 12oz - deffo a big gal

Needamassage · 12/05/2008 08:50

Can I join too? Am member of SW but seem to be putting on/losing the same 2 pounds over and over. I still have a stone to lose. Even the terror of being weighed in a class doesn't stop me troughing.

Maybe if I have to post my weight loss on here it will work!

BTW, did anyone see the 3 day detox diet in WOMAN magazine this week. Promises 7 pounds loss in three days. Not that strict either.

wannaBe · 12/05/2008 09:45

10 st 3 this morning.

Now what healthy things can I do with a chicken.

PrincessConsualaBananaHammock · 12/05/2008 09:59

Hi I have joined a gym as I need to lose weight for mid June. Trying really hard to stay away from those takeaway's but hopefully see a difference soon as I have been going for about 2 months now. Got to lose at least a stone and half!!!!!!

mistlethrush · 12/05/2008 09:59

Can I join too? But not going to post weight even though I've lost about 11 lbs in last 4 weeks.

Bruhaha - I've done WW and, when I use all my points I can quite happily put weight on - by WW leader looked at my diet sheets and portion sizes etc and agreed that I'm one of those unfortunate people that is REALLY efficient at processing food! The only way I could loose weight doing WW was to have around 15 points a day - and even then the weight loss was really slow (great in principle, but very frustrating!). My best 2 weeks of weight loss was when I was a bit depressed and spent most of my points on alcohol !

Trying different tack at the moment. Not eating cereals and trying to avoid potatoes, certainly not having anything processed (except low fat yog) - mainly fruit, veg and some pulses. Having said that, I don't think that a lot of people could function on this properly, so don't recommend it. Makes eating out a real pain too. Find myself buying a child's lunch box for myself and ds - sandwich, 2x apples, 1x jelly and 1x juice and a fruit salad - ds has sandwich, a bit of apple, jelly, juice and 'choice' bits of the fruit salad (eg grapes, strawberries) and I eat the apples and the rest of the fruit salad.

quarkee · 12/05/2008 10:16

Mistle hi!!![waves frantically]

Elloeise · 12/05/2008 10:17

Well iv'e been yo-yoing between 12st 7lb and 12st 3lb for the last mth or more but today it's deffently at the 12st 7lb mark
so im drawing a line
.............................................

And hear is my new start! Now i just need to make it last

quarkee · 12/05/2008 10:19

Am stuck at home with DS and his chicken pox - was good for b'fast but its so easy to snack when stuck in with ill child...will have to hit the fruit bowl. My plan is to eat healthy and not have sweeties or wine (at least not during the week) we are off on holiday for a long weekend this weekend though so while that will be good for avoiding boredom eating it will be rubbish for alcohol - i will be strict this week to try to balance it out....

stripeybumpsmum · 12/05/2008 10:23

Hello all

Can I join in too? Really gotta do something to shift post baby weight (DD 6mo tomorrow).

Just been horrified at how much money SW/RC/WW etc want off me to slim on line. Do you know how much wine I could buy with that membership fee???? Maybe that is the point

Bit of a newcomer to this diet thing, kinda had issues in the past so I am wary of getting too obsessed about it but like I say, got to get this sorted.

I am more of the total abstinence type - can't stop at one biscuit, one glass so will have to dig out my discipline, which is currently in storage!

So I would like to publicly state I have three goals:

Current weight 11 st 7
Target One 11 stone
Target Two 150 lbs, or 10st 10
Target three get to, and stay under 10st 4

Target three prob unrealistic by June 14 but will defnitely make a start on one and two.

Just to add a bit of stress, I start back to work next week, have nearly weaned DD off BF (slight delay due to her having severe chicken pox at the mo'). So I will definitely be needing that wine but will resist! Probably therefore need your support and words of wisdom (no pressure there then

WilfSell · 12/05/2008 10:25

Oh god. Am far too fat to post weight but needless to say definitely do need to lose that first stone.

So have had a decent breakfast of cereal and lots of tea. Am now trying to fend off hunger pangs till lunchtime - who has tips for doing so...?

MissingMyHeels · 12/05/2008 11:09

13st 2oz Why did I think I could eat so much whilst pregnant??

So far today had a bowl of special k red berries and been for a 40min walk (15 of which power walking/jogging as was late for DD's hosp appointment!).

Trying to remind myself to drink lots of water! Having a fake tan this afternoon as a trial run for the wedding to check I like the colour - salon is 3 miles away and am going to walk there as such a lovely day

My goal: 12stone by end of June

CJMommy · 12/05/2008 11:30

11st exactly! Ideal weight is around 9st so that's my goal for when I go back to work in September. Am going to do WW but not pay to go to meetings....I did it once before prior to getting married and lost 2 st then so I know it can be done! Good luck girls!

quarkee · 12/05/2008 12:49

Have had two cups of tea and a slice of toast with Philly (extra low fat variety) and a nibble of DS mini babybel - stripey the pox seems to be all around at the mo - hope you are doing OK - good news is that yuo will prob lose a bit when you finish bf, I did anyway

I did WW too a while ago and got c 3st off but a couple have crept back on again due to having DS and liking my biscuits too much [sigh, fantasising about hob nobs now]

CJMommy · 12/05/2008 13:02

Does anyone know anything about the Pink Patch or Pure Hoodia as a way to loose weight? I know I'm just dreaming of the 'quick fix' and to wake up one morning at my perfect weight but just wondered if anyone had tried these? What other 'quick fix' diets have people tried?

mistlethrush · 12/05/2008 13:20

CJM - have read a few reviews - the frank, not wanting to make money out of it ones suggest that its a bit of a con - but then, who knows, it might work for you!

Had yoghurt and stewed apple (sweetened with organic dried apricots) (frozen in the autumn) for breakfast. Lunch - 1 cos lettuce, 3" cucumber, about 12 cherry toms with balsamic vinegar. So I estimate that a max of 3 ww points so far (ie breakfast) Good thing I like salad really isn't it!

mutley1 · 12/05/2008 13:53

Hi
As its Monday and I have just stepped on the scales I definately have to loose a stone before the middle of June.Has anyone else heard of or better still tried the Pink Patch advertised on the net as magic 24hr weight loss. Obviously i'm tempted but would like to have recommendation before parting with the cash

Jo10Go · 12/05/2008 14:59

Not heard of the Pink Patch - how does it work? My real problem is that I just enjoy my food too much - I think about it all the time, love shopping for it & eating too much of it.
I find it fairly ok to control myself during the day am as so busy with 3 dd's but as soon as they're in bed food & wine are both my relaxation treat.

OP posts:
mistlethrush · 12/05/2008 15:02

The scientific reviews aren't that great I'm afraid, although they presumably work for some people.

I am really pleased to report that (after doing this for 4 wks) my appetite is definitely a lot smaller. However, still get cravings! Its just I'm managing to fob them off with relatively reasonable options at the moment!

I find the time alone with ds is the worst - as I have a tendency to finish off things and 'share' things with him.
