Hi
I can't keep on putting down my extra stone to baby flab as youngest dd now 2!
Managed to lose weight without too much hassle after 1st 2 dd's but for some yukky reason I just can't seem to shift that last stone after dd3!
Desperately need to lose a stone by 14th June as am going to big posh 60th - I already have the outfit to wear but it's way too tight at the mo.

Is there any-one else out there who would like to chat for support when it gets tough? I'm not really going to follow any specific diet but any tips gratefully received. My main problem is white wine - it just slips down so easily & one glass is never enough! I then get the mega munchies!

Weighed today at SW. Put on a pound! Started in December at 10st 5andhalf. This is totally ridiculous!

My lowest weight with SW has been 9st 13.

I am now 10st 1. It's costing me a fortune.

Good luck for this week everyone!

MissingMyHeels · 13/05/2008 20:14

Just back from the gym (30 mins cross trainer - almost killed me!). Today had bowl of special K, banana, ryvita minis, light coffee frappucino from Starbucks and having cod and peas for dinner and will probably sneak a couple of oven baked chips too!!

All in all not a bad day.

Sorry WW isn't going well for you bruhaha - at least you have an action plan for this week now though.

mistlethrush · 13/05/2008 20:53

Have slipped today - mind you, did have a reasonable excuse - test for paracetamol allergy - and the outcome is that I do have a reaction - so feeling crap and just had to eat various things. Luckily managed to avoid the packets on nuts and the unopened packet of hobnobs in the cupboard (otherwise I'd have got through the whole packet this afternoon ) so rather a day

wessexgirl · 13/05/2008 20:55

Wedding anniversary yesterday, so started properly today. Did 25 minutes on mini-stepper and have eaten 2 slices of bread with houmous, four crackers, spaghetti with pesto and one strawberry. Three coffees, two pints of water, one Ribena Light.

Craving a bowl of cereal now, but I'm resisting!

LolaLadybird · 13/05/2008 21:17

Sorry the weigh-in didn't go well Bruhaha - are you going to continue for another week? I think it does help to write everything down - forces you to be brutally honest about every point .

bruhaha · 13/05/2008 21:36

yes i'm going to keep going for another week, will write everything down.

is it true that after you stop breastfeeding you generally lose weight? I always thought the bf helped to lose weight but that's not worked for me.

i also ordered and received today the dress i was going to wear to my lo baptism and it is too small - i knew that before i ordered it as they didn't have the size i thought i might need - but it's still a bummer. It's also quite low over the boobs so that is not a good look for a greek church

Dalrymps · 13/05/2008 21:52

Right, got some digital scales today and i'm not quite as heavy as I thought but still too heavy. I'm 12st 3lb. Managed to not eat birthday cake but unfortunately had a birthday meal which consisted of chinese sweet and sour chicken and noodles and rice, also ate a twix and mini time out bar. hmmmm. Not a good day, today is another day, I think I can safely say today is a total write off!

PollyPentapeptide · 13/05/2008 21:52

Sorry to hijack thread. I am a SW member and have forgotten my password to login (well being a dozy so and so and didn't make a note of it when I went for weigh in this evening)

Anyway, have just bought a box of light choices cakes from tescos and have no way of working out the syns so can someone help?

I need to know whether I can have just one or whether its OK to scoff the wholebox

100g gives 280 kcals/60.1g carbs/2.2g fat

Im not sure if you need anything else. Actually looking at those carbs, they are probably deadly but apparently only 1 point on WW (not sure if that is good or not)

Anyway, please can someone help, they look delicious

thanks x

oh, and well done ladies with your weight loss (we are very clever)

LolaLadybird · 14/05/2008 09:35

Could tell you about WW points in the cakes but no idea about syns I'm afraid.

Bru - I think it is true about losing some weight when you finish breast feeding. My HV said that your body hangs onto certain fat reserves whilst bf which I guess makes sense. Having said that, didn't make much difference to me - probably because I carried on eating as if I was still bf!

Jo10Go · 14/05/2008 09:52

Must agree about after BF afraid - I didn't lose any weight either!

Just stopped bf but I've been gradually reducing it over last few weeks so don't expect to see any loss (although always hoping!). Good day so far, one Go Ahead Yorhurt Bar 2.5 point (WW)

MissingMyHeels · 14/05/2008 13:54

Today so far, bowl of cereal and packet of wotsits. Have decided to calorie count as I think it'll work best for me. Going for under 1000 per day so have used 201 and saving the rest for dinner!

No gym today as looking after my lil bro at my Mums house but will go on trampoline in a bit.

quarkee · 14/05/2008 14:22

Today has been OK so far - had a crumpet w marmite and a few shreddies for b-fast, spaghetti hoops and 2 slices toast with 4 anchovies (LOVE them) and tomatoes and an Options hot choc to kerb my sweetie cravings. Still looking after spotty DS so went for a walk with him this morning and will do my Wii Fit again tonight - think i may be about to be hooked on that.

Re losing weight after BF I definately noticed some of it shifting but just not as much as i would have wanted!!!

CJMommy · 14/05/2008 16:13

I can highly recommend Skinny Cow Ice cream/lollies.....tasty, low in fat/points and certainly deal with the sweet cravings. Also particularly good for all this hot weather...long may it last!

quarkee · 14/05/2008 18:23

oh dear just had 4 of DS's meatballs for tea.....

wannaBe · 14/05/2008 18:26

reasonably good day today. usual serial for breakfast, then steak/potato salad for lunch and marmite sandwich for tea. had cups of tea today with sugar though, and haven't done any wxercise as didn't get up early enough and was in school this morning. Maybe I'll make it on to the rower/cross trainer tonight but not sure.

bluebellwood · 14/05/2008 19:48

Reasonably good three days. Have to make a determined effort not to weigh every day. Will weigh once a week.
Strengthened resolve everyone!

LolaLadybird · 14/05/2008 23:09

Fairly good 3 days so far. Currently 14 points under my quota - a good thing as I've got quite a lot of food/drink temptation coming up over next few days so definitely need some points in the bank.

Biggest hijacker of dieting once you have children has got to be the potential for hoovering up their leftovers esp when you're bloody starving - (too) much self discipline required!

Will be checking out the Skinny Cow lollies. I also find diet coke v good for curbing a sweet craving.

bruhaha · 14/05/2008 23:16

is it wrong to say i used to find ciggies great for curbing any type of craving

LolaLadybird · 14/05/2008 23:21

I'm sooo glad I never took up smoking. Given my track record with dieting, I'd have been smoking 30 a day for many years to come!

bruhaha · 14/05/2008 23:23

i used to smoke but haven't since pg etc. I'm not tempted to go back because of the weight loss or anything but had a very very bad day today and could have happily smoked a whole packet if didn't have ds

CJMommy · 14/05/2008 23:46

Gave up smoking (regularly) several years ago but always tended to have one when copious amounts of alcohol was involved!! Hoping not to go back down that route again but never have the opportunity for copious amounts of alcohol these days either! Shame I can't give up the food like I did the fags!!

stripeybumpsmum · 15/05/2008 13:13

Doing ok I think. But hen we are only on Day 3 so maybe speaking too soon. Looking after poxy DD is so boring though. I am using her infectiousness as an excuse to avoid the shops so can't be tempted.

Had a bit of stress at work but so far not given in to temptation to solve it with wine! Problem partly is the team stress is causing my boss to hit the self destruct button and serious loose control of her eating - I am guessing she must have BMI 40+. Just very sad for her but selfishly a good lesson for me to keep focused to stay in a healthy(ish) BMI range.

But a) missing my yummy mummy Starbucks fixes and b) already dreading trying to keep off/reduce intake of wine (and consequent nibbles) at the weekend.

I will be strong (determined emoticon)

You all sound like you are doing good!

wannaBe · 15/05/2008 13:42

Bru my mum put on about 4 stone when she gave up smoking when I was little and I don't think she's ever looked back despite having done numerous diets she just has no willpower and piles it back on within weeks.

Well.... I love my dh! Have been angling for a treadmill since we went to ILs at easter and I tried his and it was fab. but dh said he wouldn't buy one unless I started using the other kit in the garage (cross trainer/rower). Now I have started using it all, even made it out there last night and again this morning, but hadn't mentioned treadmill again as it's early days. But today dh calls and says "are you around on Tuesday?" to which I reply that I don't know and then he says "well you might want to be" "why" says I, "for the delivery of the treadmill." I love my dh! .

wessexgirl · 15/05/2008 13:47

Not doing too badly so far; apart from half a cold sausage, I haven't given in to any temptations. Didn't even have my usual 2 glasses of wine in front of 'The Apprentice' last night, wow.

Mushroom omelette with salad for dinner tonight.
