Lots to lose accountability (no WLI)

HNY!

Weighed today and I'm 20 stone 10. I have been chipping away at this and there's nearly 2 stone gone over the last few months but I've been completely half arsing it and still make excuses like they're going out of fashion, and I just need to get bloody grip and get some semblance of a routine. Anyone want to join an accountability thread who has a good chunk to shift and isn't wanting to do WLI?

I think I'm going to aim for pre pregnancy weight which means I've got ~7 stone to get rid of but I'm going to break it down in chunks so it's not too overwhelming, and I'm more focussed on FEELING better rather than a number this time. I have lost 10+ stone before so I CAN do it, but this was pre mum life when I actually had an abundance of time, money and sleep.

My targets along the way will be:

• get under 20 stone
• get to the weight I was at full term (low 17s)
• get into the 15 stone bracket
• get to mid 14 stone and reassess how I'm feeling and how much further I want to go with it

Hoping that the majority will be off for Christmas 2025 🙏🏻

I'll weigh each Wednesday and post on here but no pressure for anyone to do so. We can do this (she says for the 100th time) 🥳

Hey, HNY!
I’m going to join this thread as I too have a lot to loose.
Currently 18.12, my aim is a 3stone loss by 1st September and then another 2stone by early 2026.
We’re taking our daughter to Disney in March 2026 and I’m so worried about not being able to go on the rides. Booking the trip has given me the push to (finally) do something about my weight. Although like you, I lost 5+ stone in the past, put it all back on, was actually my lightest during and after pregnancy but soon gained it again.
I can exercise all day long, was in the pool yesterday at 8am and recently bought a walking pad to ensure I am getting my steps in when I can’t get outside due to the weather but my problem is that I LOVE food, especially chocolate!

I’m also weighing on a Wednesday so good luck for the week ahead, let’s hope for some good results next week! x

Well done, that’s great. Do you mind me asking how you lost the 2st 8? Any tips apart from not being so greedy 🤣

Im joining please

Goal weight 55kg

Namerequired · 01/01/2025 16:17

Can I join please. Started last January/February at 18st, got down to 14st by August but am now back up to 16st 7!! I’m only 5ft 1 so loads to lose.

Cinderellahasletherselfgo · 01/01/2025 20:08

Me too please - and Happy New Year to all!

I'll be weighing in on Monday when DP has finally gone back to work and stopped slobbing round the house with a face like thunder that we all have the audacity to, you know, move between his seat on the sofa and the TV occasionally. Yes, it's been a great holiday season here...

herewegoagain2025 · 01/01/2025 20:40

Hey everyone! Wasn't expecting any replies 👋🏻

@TryingToShine I think that timeline sounds super realistic and really doable, how exciting about Disney too! I could've written your pregnancy bit myself - I was super fit and managed to lose some during early PP but then PND kicked in full force and bam, chucked a load back on again. I'm not at my heaviest but I know if I don't do something soon it'll be here in no time and I want to be able to join in my DD's activities and not feel like I'm going to keel over/feel like I've a million eyes on me. Can I ask where you got your walking pad from please? Also chocolate is LIFE so totally get you on that front too. We WILL have a good first week (and the weeks that follow) 💪🏻 x

@NessaSmith love the username! That's incredible going in 3 months, you're amazing! Are you following a particular plan? I think I'm going to do a calorie deficit and move more (walking and workout wise)

@littlepurplerose hello! You can do this ☺️

@Namerequired huge well done for last year, that is brilliant. It's such a shame that it's a lot of work to get it off but can come back so quickly, we'll get there together definitely 🙌🏻 you got this though, you've done it last year and we will do it again this year and keep it off ☺️

@Cinderellahasletherselfgo another fabulous username. Sorry about the hubs, I really hope you've managed to have some nice festive bits over the last couple of weeks? Roll on Monday!!

I've definitely gone over calories today but I feel like it wasn't horrendous and I can definitely pull it back in from tomorrow onwards (thankfully hosting today has meant that pretty much all the Christmas goodies have either been dished out or sent to a new home) so I should be ready to go properly tomorrow. I've got a couple of hours of work to do in the morning and I'll see if I can convince hubs to take DD out somewhere so I can sneak off to the gym as well but we'll see how miserable the weather is (and how agreeable DD is feeling!). Hope everyone is okay 🥰

Happy New Year! I'll join too please?

I'm currently 16 stone 2. I lost 2 stone between August and Christmas last year, I want to go down to 12 stone this year if I can. I'm 5 feet 10 and size 18 at the moment.

I get plenty of walking as I'm on my feet at work and I try to walk everywhere in general, I don't have time for the gym (I would if I had childcare, but that's a different story!).

I've let myself run free over Christmas, as it were, food-wise, but I haven't overdone it massively. Home tomorrow and I'll get back on the diet.

Hi @TryingToShine thank you. I was wrong, it took me 4 months not 3 as I started on Sep 1st. I have NEVER lost weight before so I am really, really proud of myself, and it generally hasn't even been that hard! Although I have had my wobbles.

I calorie count.

I use nutracheck, on the weeks I've been 100% on it I've had great losses. Every single mouthful goes on there. At first it is time consuming as you do weigh everything but then as you tend to eat the same things, you stop having to do that as you know what it is, and you can save meals so you don't have to input them every time.

I stick to my limit and try not to go over, if I do I aim to go under the following day.

It's just making me make better choices! I check the calories of everything (it has a scanner which is great) and pick the snack with the least options.

Good luck.

NessaSmith · 02/01/2025 09:58

Oh and if anyone wants a month's free trial for Nutracheck just PM me your email address, think I've got 4 left. I don't get anything out of it 😊(except a competition entry or something)

I think I pay £30 for the year.

herewegoagain2025 · 02/01/2025 10:38

@MrsSethGecko hello! Well done on your loss so far, sounds like a plan this year 🥰 I definitely need to up my steps as I'm very laptop based for work so can easily sit for hours without realising time has passed. Safe journey home, catch up soon ☺️

I got this one from eBay. it’s quite nosy but once I’ve got my headphones in I’m not bothered. Did a short 1.5 mile walk last night once DD was in bed to start off the New Year, was only 30mins but at least it was 30mins that I wasn’t sat on the sofa watching TV.

MrsSethGecko · 02/01/2025 14:10

Nutracheck is fab! I find it much better than MFP.

herewegoagain2025 · 03/01/2025 07:58

@TryingToShine half an hour is bloody brill! Thanks so much for the link, I think I'm too heavy for that one (and don't want to be humbled going through it). I've found a couple on Amazon with a larger weight limit so just need to convince DH that I WILL use it and it won't take up too much space 😇

I'm considering a walking pad too but I read on here they cause some people travel sickness which puts me off as I am susceptible to it!

Ooh that's interesting - I didn't know that! Do the travel sickness bracelets help? I definitely need something to help with steps because trying to fit it in around work where I'm sat on a laptop all day (I compress my hours to free a day in the week for childcare) and then general life is an absolute mare; I'm totally wiped after I've done bedtime. Our kitchen island is high enough for me to type upright but I think stepping on the spot would get very old very quickly vs a pad where I could do a couple of half hour stints quite easily (she says...)

OP posts:
TryingToShine · 03/01/2025 13:25

Ah @herewegoagain2025 that's maybe why mine is so noisy - i'm a bit too heavy for it. Managed to get outside for a walk today on my lunch break.

@NessaSmith It's definitely a strange feeling for a few minutes once you get off the walking pad but the whole time I'm on it I feel ok, I listen to a podcast so I'm concentrating on that which I think might help.

How's everyone getting on so far? I'm having a salad for lunch - boring! but i'm feeling positive. I think i'll struggle over the weekend with less of a routine and DH being around!

MrsSethGecko · 03/01/2025 16:30

Trying to get back into a routine today, I'm back to work on Monday and I want to be organised!
Had yoghurt, hazelnuts and a few oats for breakfast.
Mushroom, pepper and onion omelette for lunch, and an apple. Three Ryvita. I don't really like Ryvita. I don't know why I bought them.
Dinner will be tuna and mussels in tomato sauce and a little jacket potato.

My downfall is I don't feel like I've had a meal if there isn't a pudding! Blush

I was 16 stone 1 this morning.

herewegoagain2025 · 03/01/2025 21:44

@TryingToShine not boring in the slightest, and the main thing is how you're feeling so the fact that you're in a positive headspace is EVERYTHING.

@MrsSethGecko do you want to come and cook for me? 😇 I'm one of those if I don't have something I'll be absolutely fine but once the floodgates are open there is absolutely no stopping me. Fab news about 1lb down already, that's brilliant going 👏🏻

I've not made it to the gym so far but we have been on quite a few walks, and I've been tracking on MFP and kept to my deficit yesterday and today, mainly focusing on cals rather than macros just while I get back into it. I'm also making a push to get at least 2l of water a day which I think is making the deficit easier to stick to. I'm back at work on Monday so will see what state things are in (massive comfort/stress eater so hoping it's not too bad!)

Hope you all have a lovely evening x

Afternoon! How's everyone? I'm feeling very virtuous because I had olives for a snack after our walk instead of hot chocolate.

It's not at all the same though dammit.

My hero 😍😍

We had a film night at ours last night with some friends where we all brought different food so it was a bit hard to track but I'd been on top of breakfast and lunch so had some spare cals (and worst case scenario I ate at maintenance level because I'm 500 under my BMR). Trying to remember that there are 21 meals in the week and 1 or 2 off track won't shake the 19 that are on point!

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday - we have got quite a bit of snow which I'm sure DD is going to lose her mind over when she wakes up! Xx

OP posts:
iwentjasonwaterfalls · 05/01/2025 10:21

I would like to join if that's ok please 🥹

Roughly 21 stone, my weight has yo-yo'd around like crazy because of different epilepsy medications, medical stuff going on and comfort eating for two years straight 😅 I'm going to weigh in at some point in the next few days.

I had my wisdom tooth removed two days ago which is good for weight loss in one way as all I'm eating is jelly and mashed potato, but equally I'm desperate to get back to normal food so trying to have self control is tricky. Any strenuous exercise makes my jaw hurt so I can't even get steps in.

I don't have a goal weight for 2025 so I'm breaking it down. First goal is to consistently get my 2 litres of water a day.

herewegoagain2025 · 05/01/2025 21:03

@iwentjasonwaterfalls of course, hello! Really hope you start to feel better with the wisdom tooth; totally feel you as I had all 4 out when I had mine and the pain was like nothing on earth - hope you're taking it easy! Here when you're ready 🥰

OP posts:
herewegoagain2025 · 05/01/2025 21:04

Sorry for double messaging @iwentjasonwaterfalls but completely agree with the breaking it down, I started with the water too so definitely think that's a really good way to go x

OP posts:
Cinderellahasletherselfgo · 05/01/2025 23:11

Good luck with the wisdom teeth recovery @iwentjasonwaterfalls - I had mine out about 20 years ago but still remember living off Ribena and Slim Fast for a couple of weeks as they were the only things I could force down Shock

Seriously thinking about rejoining Slimming World for some RL help but the groups near me seem to be really cagey about costs - I can find out what it costs to join online easily, but they don't have any details about any joining offers etc! Feel like I really need some group support and SW is the best option locally as far as I can see...
