Lots to lose accountability (no WLI)

HNY!

Weighed today and I'm 20 stone 10. I have been chipping away at this and there's nearly 2 stone gone over the last few months but I've been completely half arsing it and still make excuses like they're going out of fashion, and I just need to get bloody grip and get some semblance of a routine. Anyone want to join an accountability thread who has a good chunk to shift and isn't wanting to do WLI?

I think I'm going to aim for pre pregnancy weight which means I've got ~7 stone to get rid of but I'm going to break it down in chunks so it's not too overwhelming, and I'm more focussed on FEELING better rather than a number this time. I have lost 10+ stone before so I CAN do it, but this was pre mum life when I actually had an abundance of time, money and sleep.

My targets along the way will be:

• get under 20 stone
• get to the weight I was at full term (low 17s)
• get into the 15 stone bracket
• get to mid 14 stone and reassess how I'm feeling and how much further I want to go with it

Hoping that the majority will be off for Christmas 2025 🙏🏻

I'll weigh each Wednesday and post on here but no pressure for anyone to do so. We can do this (she says for the 100th time) 🥳

@NessaSmith That is the hardest part. 😫 I always think I got used to feeling hungry, but no.

As a habitual snacker, I had to completely give up chocolate. I do not eat bread either. Surprisingly I can live without chocolate, because I am so hungry for proper food.

Sending hugs to people who feel bad about themselves.

NessaSmith · 20/01/2025 19:19

Thanks! I wish I could give up bread but I have a sandwich every day for lunch and can't imagine not!

I've gone 200 over today which I think is good enough.

I definitely shrunk my stomach Sep-Dec while I was 100% dieting and lost more than 2.5 stone. Because the first few weeks I was starving but then once I got in a rhythm I was having a coffee and a yogurt and granola pot for breakfast every day and not even thinking about lunch til lunchtime, and not snacking between lunch and dinner. Whereas now, after a month 'off' (although I stayed the same) I'm starving. I wanted to eat my arm by midday today, and then again around 4pm.

Cinderellahasletherselfgo · 20/01/2025 23:40

@Christmasbargainhunter I do empathise with the diet clubs... the first time I joined WW (25 years ago Blush) I found it brilliant. My last visits to WW and SW have been less than inspiring Sad

+1lb this week which was expected, had too many social events late last week and over the weekend where I made the wrong choices. So easy to put on but so hard to get off! Thankfully this weekend is looking to be a quiet one.

Haven’t caught up on everyone’s comments yet, will try and do that tomorrow.

PlantDoctor · 22/01/2025 09:49

Well done keeping going everyone! January seems to go on forever and it can get a bit depressing, but I know if I stick to it I'll be forever grateful I did.

I've had a couple of days where I think I've eaten roughly maintenance. DH wanted fish and chips on Monday! I have not weighed myself but will do so tomorrow, as don't want the increased water weight to throw off my motivation! I was quite good yesterday (did eat the last few Christmas chocs!) and definitely back to it today :)

Sandwiches are just so easy! :) My usual 'good' day is to have coffee in the morning, then granola and yoghurt or a sandwich for lunch (usually with fruit), then a healthy dinner with the family later, so similar to you I think.

One thing I have to watch is that granola is surprisingly high in cals, so very important to weigh it even if you have a different amount to the portion on the packet.

Hey gang, sorry for radio silence (again!) - work has been hectic but getting ready for new job and feeling really positive. I used my walking pad for the first time Monday and I absolutely love it so aiming for 5 miles a day on it on my WFH days; I'm actually just about to jump on it. I haven't had chance to catch up with everyone's messages yet but will do a proper reply this evening. Really hope you're all okay ♥️

20st 6 this morning so another 1 gone (did get a little peep at 20st 5 but again need to wait for the 19s to get 1/2lbs showing). I'm due on so I want to eat EVERYTHING and the bloat is real (which I think is impressive given the size of my belly already 🤣) so aiming low this week and just listening to what my body is telling me.

Speak tonight! Xx

Also want to say how much I appreciate this thread - I don't talk to anyone about weight loss irl because I'm quite frankly ashamed at ending up 20+ again but just knowing you lot are here if needed is beyond helpful 🥰

Me too <3 thanks for making it! And well done on your -1.

@PlantDoctor I'm very strict with myself about weighing everything! But for breakfast every day I have a yogurt and granola pot from Aldi. 200 calories and filling and yum. For financial reasons I should probably switch to making it at home, I might give it a go next week when I run out of my current stash. But it's just so convenient to grab one, and I've literally eaten them since Sep every day!

MrsSethGecko · 24/01/2025 07:05

Morning! How's everyone getting on?

I am 15 stone 9 this morning, very pleased.

PlantDoctor · 24/01/2025 09:37

@NessaSmith they sound really good! Might have to see if I can pick some up!

@MrsSethGecko well done! I've had a bit of a slack couple days but still shrinking which is good. Stocked up on healthy food now too, so just have to avoid DH's biscuits!

Wehaditsogood · 24/01/2025 13:26

I was 86kg on Tuesday. I can feel my period coming on, so I will not make any progress this week.

Cinderellahasletherselfgo · 26/01/2025 10:26

@herewegoagain2025 5 miles a day is an impressive target!! I hope you continue to enjoy it!

When I read The Amazing Adventures of Dietgirl - which is a great book, by the way - Shauna tells of how she used to exercise at night, just shuffling round the block, as she was so heavy that she was ashamed to let anyone see her. That really struck a chord with me Blush

MrsSethGecko · 26/01/2025 11:07

I bought a new coat yesterday and it's size 18! My last one was a 24! Very pleased with myself.

Christmasbargainhunter · 26/01/2025 19:50

@MrsSethGecko that is an amazing achievement, well done.

I honestly don't know where to start. I've lost nothing this week but I've not tried either. I'm not sure what to do or where to start. I'm so tempted by injections but don't want to spend the money and have extreme side effects fear.

No real point in this other than it's a new week again tomorrow and I'm not any lighter.

Sorry for bringing the tone down. I find this so hard.

Wehaditsogood · 26/01/2025 22:29

@Christmasbargainhunter It is very hard. I totally agree. We can be honest amongst ourselves.
I was reading the WLI threads for a while and it is hard for a lot of people even with the injections.

@MrsSethGecko Wow! What an achievement!

Christmasbargainhunter · 27/01/2025 06:58

Reading back, that maybe came across as though I think taking WLI would be a quick fix. Sorry, I didn't mean that. It will still be very difficult people.
If I could guarantee I wouldn't have side effects and it would stop the food noise I think I would do it. As those are not a certainty, I'm too scared. I have health anxiety.

I'm going to try very hard to get put of this pity party, accept change is very tough and invest in making my body healthier.

The first thing I need to tackle, is quit snacking and picking.

This is a new week. Have a good day everyone.

herewegoagain2025 · 27/01/2025 07:45

Hi everyone! Sorry this is best past of a week late, best laid plans eh.

@NessaSmith how're you getting on lovely? Honestly going over by a couple of hundred cals is just SO easily done and before you know it it's like it all the time isn't it, I've done that dance so many times before.

@MrsSethGecko ahhh that is amazing!! (The CW and the coat!!!). Def my inspo as I'm currently sat on the tram in my size 24 coat (which in fairness I can zip up but I'm a long way off a smaller size yet). Keep smashing it 👏🏻

@TryingToShine how're things this week my love? You doing ok? I feel you on the social plans, I'm yet to have a proper free weekend yet and I've got 2 close family birthdays this weekend too! I've managed to get them to come round to ours on Sunday and I've said I'll do the food so there's an element of control for me there I suppose.

@Cinderellahasletherselfgo thinking of you, hope you're getting on alright!

Bugger, pressed send too soon and I'm on the app so I can't edit. What I was trying to say was...

@PlantDoctor you are doing amazingggg!! Also whilst biscuits are good, there's nothing better than DH's biscuits in my opinion, far too tempting. Well done on still shrinking through it!

@Wehaditsogood welcome (about 2 weeks late, sorry!). That's fantastic re Christmas progress, massive well done! Absolutely love my walking pad and would recommend it to anyone and everyone tbh. I'm also with you on chocolate; if I have none I don't miss it in the slightest. Bread on the other hand... (@NessaSmith don't give up your butties!!!)

@Puttingoutfireswithgasoline hello! Completely resonate with the negative feelings, we're all in the same boat here so please let us know if there's any support you need. Well done on your loss so far

@Christmasbargainhunter hi! Nice username btw. Snacking is THE worst for me, I can do really well with main meals and as soon as I've done bedtime I could easily inhale another 500 cals on idk what. You never have to apologise either so please don't think you're bringing the tone down ever, it's what we're here for. I won't lie that WLI have crossed my mind and still do regularly as I think the massive thing for me is 'food noise', but I know deep down that it'd just be a patch job and no doubt I'd end up swinging back the other way once I came off them (and then I'd be fat and skint(er)). It didn't come across as you thinking it'd be a quick fix; I certainly didn't read it like that ☺️. It is incredibly tough but please know you're not alone in this at all, hopefully we can all get something out of this even if it's not weight loss every week but little bits of positive mental stuff too.

It was someone trying to advertise Zoe I think? Although I'm not sure what that is!

Very tired today and just want to fill myself with chocolate.
