Lots to lose accountability (no WLI)

HNY!

Weighed today and I'm 20 stone 10. I have been chipping away at this and there's nearly 2 stone gone over the last few months but I've been completely half arsing it and still make excuses like they're going out of fashion, and I just need to get bloody grip and get some semblance of a routine. Anyone want to join an accountability thread who has a good chunk to shift and isn't wanting to do WLI?

I think I'm going to aim for pre pregnancy weight which means I've got ~7 stone to get rid of but I'm going to break it down in chunks so it's not too overwhelming, and I'm more focussed on FEELING better rather than a number this time. I have lost 10+ stone before so I CAN do it, but this was pre mum life when I actually had an abundance of time, money and sleep.

My targets along the way will be:

• get under 20 stone
• get to the weight I was at full term (low 17s)
• get into the 15 stone bracket
• get to mid 14 stone and reassess how I'm feeling and how much further I want to go with it

Hoping that the majority will be off for Christmas 2025 🙏🏻

I'll weigh each Wednesday and post on here but no pressure for anyone to do so. We can do this (she says for the 100th time) 🥳

@NessaSmith I find if I change things round I don't get bored eating them, when I get bored I end up nibbling!

WellThatsNice · 08/01/2025 13:53

Hello! Late to the party but really need a kick in the pants- currently about 16 ish, backslid over Christmas but really need to lose a chunk fairly quickly as my blood pressure has been running high and I don’t want to take meds, am only 48! 😭

WellThatsNice · 08/01/2025 13:54

Ooops- meant to say am planning on doing fast800 for a few weeks to get the ball rolling fairly quickly.

herewegoagain2025 · 08/01/2025 20:14

@DivaRainbow fantastic, well done you!! 🥳

@TryingToShine sounds like a plan, we've got this 💪🏻 Hope your day off was nice and DD's swimming went well 🥰

@TwilightAb @WellThatsNice of course, welcome! We've got a lovely little group going on so here for whatever you need, no pressure for posting either x

I saw this little video on Facebook of a cat losing weight with some motivational speech in the background - thought it was apt!

I went 135 over my calories yesterday after a bit of a binge, disappointed in myself, so will try and go 100 under today! Good luck everyone.

MrsSethGecko · 09/01/2025 11:12

@NessaSmith don't be disappointed, 135 is a very little blip!

PlantDoctor · 09/01/2025 14:14

I'm doing 16:8 intermittent fasting at the moment. Generally granola and yoghurt for lunch, fruit snack, salad for dinner, plus my normal lashings of coffee throughout the day (calories counted as a cup of milk a day, no sugar). Little losses each day which is nice to see!

MrsSethGecko · 09/01/2025 20:16

It's so cold that all I want to do is eat! I've fought it though and am in bed with my electric blanket. I used to be a party animal, honest.

I made rice with kidney beans, spinach, garlic and lemon for dinner and it was fabulous. Just made a pan of soup for lunches- celery and peanut butter. Sounds bizarre but it's delicious.

PlantDoctor · 10/01/2025 00:32

Noticed my swimsuit was getting a bit worn out (the fabric is starting to perish!) so got a new one. Tested it out this evening and hopefully noone was looking as definitely flashed myself launching from the edge! 😳Not suitable for proper swimming it seems! Can anyone recommend a swimsuit for larger sizes?

MrsSethGecko · 10/01/2025 07:38

@PlantDoctor I got mine from Marks and Spencer, it's got the tummy control panel and I think they went up to a 22. Comfy and doesn't move when it shouldn't!

Weighed myself this morning and I'm 15 stone 12, BMI 32 down from 36. Happy with that!!

NessaSmith · 10/01/2025 09:29

@PlantDoctor I got mine from Shein (sorry, I know it's awful, but I couldn't find a decent size 24 one anywhere). Got a couple to try and they were all ok, kept one with a little skirt as I hate my shaving my nunny lol.

It's not this one, but it's similar: costume

I've been wearing it twice a week for 6 months now and it's still brilliant, only thing is it's loose on my boobs now after the weight loss (why does it leave my boobs and not my bum)

TryingToShine · 10/01/2025 14:49

@PlantDoctor Another vote for M&S. I have quite a sporty costume from there and usually swim twice a week. I want to get a nicer one for when I take DD swimming but I'll wait until I'm hopefully buying a smaller size.

@MrsSethGecko Well done on the BMI decrease. I dread to think what mine is and quite honestly I don't think I want to know yet.

Good luck for the weekend everyone, it's definitely when I tend to fall off track.

PlantDoctor · 10/01/2025 15:02

Thanks all! It was an m and s one but I should have guessed a 'plunge' style wouldn't work well! Just ordered another, so hopefully back in the pool soon!

MrsSethGecko · 12/01/2025 09:00

Morning, how's everyone doing? How's the snow where you are?

iwentjasonwaterfalls · 12/01/2025 09:24

Morning! No snow here. Proud of myself, got up early, 3000 step workout video and 2 cups of water already 💪🏼

MrsSethGecko · 12/01/2025 10:12

Excellent! I bet you feel amazing now!

iwentjasonwaterfalls · 12/01/2025 11:19

Slightly disappointed as I was sure I'd be a ✨skinny queen✨ after that but sadly no, still my starting weight, but we move 😅

MrsSethGecko · 12/01/2025 14:40

I'm the same. One day on a diet and I'm not 10 stone immediately?! What is this nonsense Grin

NessaSmith · 12/01/2025 20:00

Ha! I know that why-aren't-I-slim-yet feeling.

I lost 3lb this week- back in the game! Really happy as now lost the 3lb I gained over christmas and back to where I was a month ago. I've had a HEAVY food weekend- went out for the day for my birthday yesterday and had Dishoom for lunch, Krispy Kreme's for a treat, and popcorn and chocolate at the cinema. And today I've logged a thousand calories over.

BUT it was a fantastic weekend so no regrets! I'll have a strict week and try to pull it back. If I can stay the same on Sunday I'll be overjoyed.

Cinderellahasletherselfgo · 12/01/2025 23:44

No progress here yet Sad I find it really hard trying to be active when DP is so bloody sedentary! He can (and will if at all possible) spend hours - seven today - sitting on the sofa watching TV/ playing Xbox. He spent his time before Christmas saying how much stuff he was going to get done round the home over the holidays, there's lots of maintenance which needs doing which I can't do (plus I do all the cleaning anyway!)... he has done maybe 10% of it. One of my aims for this year is to work smarter and give myself more free time somehow, then find activities I can do out of the house away from him...!

iwentjasonwaterfalls · 13/01/2025 00:08

I bit the bullet and found a walking pad suitable for chonky people, it's arriving on Tuesday 🤩

PlantDoctor · 13/01/2025 08:55

Lost 1.8 kg this week! Nice start to the year. I really want to get this weight off this year. When I do, I'll treat myself to the zip line over the Eden Project. Currently far too heavy but mum did it once and she wants to go again!

SW 136kg (BMI 46.2)
CW 134.2kg (BMI 45.6)

MrsSethGecko · 13/01/2025 09:45

@PlantDoctor well done!

I had a calorie shock this morning, like a twit I haven't been counting milk in drinks in my calories and I added it up, came to over a pint! Eek. 358 extra calories a day that I hadn't been factoring in Blush

So I've cut it down to 1/2 pint and started counting it.

PlantDoctor · 13/01/2025 11:22

Thanks @MrsSethGecko. I count my coffees as a cup of milk a day so similar to you. I figure anything over is cancelled by the fact that I don't count any calories for dog walks and the school run etc. I'm not fat because of milk in coffee. I'm fat because of the crap I was eating!
