Lots to lose accountability (no WLI)

HNY!

Weighed today and I'm 20 stone 10. I have been chipping away at this and there's nearly 2 stone gone over the last few months but I've been completely half arsing it and still make excuses like they're going out of fashion, and I just need to get bloody grip and get some semblance of a routine. Anyone want to join an accountability thread who has a good chunk to shift and isn't wanting to do WLI?

I think I'm going to aim for pre pregnancy weight which means I've got ~7 stone to get rid of but I'm going to break it down in chunks so it's not too overwhelming, and I'm more focussed on FEELING better rather than a number this time. I have lost 10+ stone before so I CAN do it, but this was pre mum life when I actually had an abundance of time, money and sleep.

My targets along the way will be:

• get under 20 stone
• get to the weight I was at full term (low 17s)
• get into the 15 stone bracket
• get to mid 14 stone and reassess how I'm feeling and how much further I want to go with it

Hoping that the majority will be off for Christmas 2025 🙏🏻

I'll weigh each Wednesday and post on here but no pressure for anyone to do so. We can do this (she says for the 100th time) 🥳

@iwentjasonwaterfalls wisdom teeth are awful, hope you're better soon.

I went a bit rogue last night and got into the cream crackers and butter, but didn't go over maintenance calories so no harm done.

Not sure I'll be at work today (work in a school and waiting to hear if it's closed with snow) but I've made my lunches for the week anyway.

herewegoagain2025 · 06/01/2025 08:47

@Cinderellahasletherselfgo gave me actual shudders reminiscing about post wisdom tooth 🤣😫

I contemplated the same thing about SW too - I did this the first time I attempted losing weight and lost around 5 stone, I found the group setting invaluable tbh. None of the classes near me have suitable times which is why I started this thread! From recollection it's usually a nominal £5 joining fee plus £5.95 weekly fee but I'm sure they used to do 6 and 12 week offers, PITA they're not displayed clearly! Have any of your groups got a contact number that you can text and check? X

Took the plunge last night and ordered a walking pad (at half 3 - cheers DD for that wake up), it should be here at the weekend 🚶🏻‍♀️

SW is usually about £10 to join I think, but there are often free or half price offers. Message one of the consultants and they will probably let you know when one is coming up. Also, locally in Cornwall you can get a 12 week SW membership for free if you are over a certain weight threshold, so likely similar programmes elsewhere.

I wish I got on with SW, but I can't abide all the waiting around at the start and then listening to Barbara go on and on about how she ate a bagel so she's sure that's why she's gained 3 pounds...

Or Sue who had 50 takeaways and lost 10lb 🤣 the group I went to weren't tooooo bad for this tbf but I had to go to a different group one week and...wow, some characters!

Thank you all for the good wisdom tooth vibes ❤️ recovery is so far so good, I'm keen to get past the dry socket danger zone as that's basically all I've thought about since Friday 😅

Weighed myself this morning for a baseline, 21st 5lbs. It's the same as I was in November, which is a nice surprise given Christmas etc but still the biggest I've ever been 😭

Ugh that made me shudder hahaha, you got this - you'll feel so much better soon and dry socket will be banished ❌

Honestly, well done for weighing because when I'm dreading it I'll put it off forever and a day and then in that time put extra on so you've done the hard bit now I promise ♥️. Try and reframe it if it's helpful, whilst yes it's the biggest you've been tell yourself it's the biggest you'll BE if that makes sense? Helped me with some damage limitation and when there were smaller losses/maintains along the way I could say to myself at least I was moving away from the biggest (I was pushing 25.5 stone at my heaviest).

Don't let it detract from your plan - get that 2l in and we'll take each day at a time. You CAN do this x

Hey everyone!
Do yous mind if I join in?

I have gained alot of weight after my 3 babies and just eating whatever I want.

I want to be more mindful, as I'm not the best at calorie counting but want to try.
I also want to try and get my water intake up and intermittent fasting

My Sw:84kg
GW: 70kg

MrsSethGecko · 06/01/2025 15:21

@DivaRainbow hi! I love Nutracheck for calorie counting.

No work today and child wanted to go sledging and all I want to do is hibernate and eat bread. Oh well.

Cinderellahasletherselfgo · 07/01/2025 00:07

Ooof. Weighed myself today and am officially the heaviest I've ever been (apart from when pregnant with twins Blush) - I have 5st to lose. I was 10st for years so am half as heavy again as I was, how depressing!

@PlantDoctor and @herewegoagain2025 you've reminded me why I never stuck around for the talks at SW groups Grin I actually contacted SW today to ask if they did a free trial of the online service and found out that because I've been a member before, I can rejoin for a much cheaper fee! Why they don't advertise this I don't know, but I checked and it's correct, so I'm considering that...

PlantDoctor · 07/01/2025 00:34

@Cinderellahasletherselfgo I'm at my heaviest too as of today (although I did spend Christmas eating everything!). At least it's an easy calculation to see what you've lost from highest weight!

MrsSethGecko · 07/01/2025 15:41

Well I wrote yesterday off completely, ate half a packet of cream crackers with butter and went to bed early.

Back at work today and into my usual routine. Took soup for lunch (Louise Parker broccoli and pistachio) and home made brown bread, an orange, some trail mix.
Dinner is vegetable hotpot and sprouts and a bit of black pudding.

Going to weigh-in every Friday I think.

NessaSmith · 07/01/2025 16:53

Feeling much better today as I got through yesterday which I was counting as day 1 back on my plan. I find the first day the hardest and usually binge, it's a mental block, I don't know why I do it!

Welcome to the newcomers to the thread. We've all been a weight we never ever want to see again.

I started at 22.3 and am now 19.11. I never, ever, EVER will let myself see a number 20 on a scale again. NEVER. That keeps me determined.

DivaRainbow · 07/01/2025 20:45

Day 2!
Probably wasn't the best of day.

B- 2 boiled eggs and toast along with tea
L- ham salad wrap with tea
D- baked potato with bolognese
Snacks were, A square bar, those teddy bar crisps.
Also a skinny hazelnut latte

I did snack on some of my daughters sweets ( Those little gummy ones), before bed.

I did hit 1.5 litres and zero exercise as i have had one of those days where I barely got time to breath

herewegoagain2025 · 07/01/2025 21:46

Hey @DivaRainbow - of course! 👋🏻 I think there's a few of us trying to tackle water first as well. FWIW your day 2 looks really good and it's getting back into the swing of things that's the hardest (for me anyway), brill water wise as well 👏🏻.

@MrsSethGecko totally feel you about the hibernation bread scenario, I genuinely could eat a full loaf at any point in the day. I know you think yesterday was a write off buuut it was half a pack and not a full one? I would definitely be counting that as a win, plus your food today sounded banging!

@Cinderellahasletherselfgo ahh I do the old half thing as well! Or pick up DD and think hmm I need to lose 5 of you 🤣😭. Your start weight is one of my later goals if it's any consolation ♥️ have you gotten any further with online SW?

@NessaSmith WELL DONE!!!! I am exactly the same, first couple of days are always the rockiest and I am an absolute sod for bingeing (can never have 1 of anything or leave 'some', it's all I think about until I've gone back and had it even if I don't want it!). You are doing bloody amazing and I absolutely love the not seeing the 20s again, hoping to join you there in the next few weeks 🙏🏻

Sounds like everyone is feeling motivated - we’ve got this!

I weighed in this morning, just a 1lb loss but I’ll take it. I know I need to make a few more changes this week and I’m starting today, my DD is having a croissant for breakfast, I’d usually have one (or two!!) too but I’m having porridge instead.

@herewegoagain2025 are you weighing in today?

herewegoagain2025 · 08/01/2025 08:53

@TryingToShine WELL DONE! Also hi weight loss twin, scales flitted between 20st 8 and 20st 9 before settling on 20st 9 which I think is 1.5 off (scales don't show half lbs over 20st which I never thought I'd have to worry about again 🤡) but going to count it as 1lb off. I too have things I need to improve on (as in I think I managed 100 steps over the entire week, oops), but DD was back in childcare yesterday and her activities are starting up again so will be outside more and just generally more active 🤞🏻 what are you having for brekkie? Have a lovely day x

OP posts:
herewegoagain2025 · 08/01/2025 08:54

@TryingToShine ignore my brekkie q, as soon as my message posted porridge popped up 🤦🏻‍♀️ I'll wake up soon I promise! Hope she enjoyed her croissant x

I've made a salad for breakfast, and I'm taking lentil soup and homemade oat bread for lunch with an apple.
Picture of my salad cos I'm very pleased with it!

Lots to lose accountability (no WLI)

Salad for breakfast, I'm impressed!

I stick to coffee and yogurt with muesli for breakfast, it's a bit boring but does the job.

DivaRainbow · 08/01/2025 11:26

Just weighted in and down to 83.3kg, I know it's probably just water weight but I'm buzzing.

Good luck everyone today

Great news, it’s going in the right direction. Hopefully with a few tweaks we can double it to 2lbs next week 🙌🏻
It’s my non working day today that I spend with DD. Swimming lessons this morning and hopefully a little walk together later.
Have a lovely day too.

Well done, seeing the number go down makes you feel positive and really helps stay on track.

TwilightAb · 08/01/2025 12:06

Can I join please? I'm around 16 stone. I lost quite a bit over Christmas purely due to the fact that I was unwell and lost my appetite. It's now come back and so has the snacking! I have a holiday booked in may and would love to have lost at least 2 maybe 3 stone by then! Sugar is my downfall, along with the fact I wfh and have got very lazy!
I plan to:
Cut out alcohol (Drink about 1 bottle of wine at the weekend)
Go for walks everyday
Cut out chocolate
Drink more water
