Lots to lose accountability (no WLI)

HNY!

Weighed today and I'm 20 stone 10. I have been chipping away at this and there's nearly 2 stone gone over the last few months but I've been completely half arsing it and still make excuses like they're going out of fashion, and I just need to get bloody grip and get some semblance of a routine. Anyone want to join an accountability thread who has a good chunk to shift and isn't wanting to do WLI?

I think I'm going to aim for pre pregnancy weight which means I've got ~7 stone to get rid of but I'm going to break it down in chunks so it's not too overwhelming, and I'm more focussed on FEELING better rather than a number this time. I have lost 10+ stone before so I CAN do it, but this was pre mum life when I actually had an abundance of time, money and sleep.

My targets along the way will be:

• get under 20 stone
• get to the weight I was at full term (low 17s)
• get into the 15 stone bracket
• get to mid 14 stone and reassess how I'm feeling and how much further I want to go with it

Hoping that the majority will be off for Christmas 2025 🙏🏻

I'll weigh each Wednesday and post on here but no pressure for anyone to do so. We can do this (she says for the 100th time) 🥳

Well done @PlantDoctor ! My daughter and DH fancy the zip line at Eden Project. I did a zip line into a lake when I was in school and as amazing as it was, I'm not sure I could ever be brave enough to do it again 😅

DivaRainbow · 14/01/2025 10:57

Hey! How's everyone doing?

I haven't been on in a few days, but I feel I have been doing well.

I currently work night shifts, and I usually snack a lot on these shifts. This weekend, however, I felt I did really well.

I took a protein yogurt and some low-calorie snacks and 1.5 litre of water bottle with me

I was so happy with myself.

MrsSethGecko · 14/01/2025 20:21

Evening! @DivaRainbow well done, night shifts are a killer!

I've been sticking to it, a bit dull at times but I feel a lot better for it.

No progress here yet Sad I find it really hard trying to be active when DP is so bloody sedentary! He can (and will if at all possible) spend hours - seven today - sitting on the sofa watching TV/ playing Xbox. He spent his time before Christmas saying how much stuff he was going to get done round the home over the holidays, there's lots of maintenance which needs doing which I can't do (plus I do all the cleaning anyway!)... he has done maybe 10% of it. One of my aims for this year is to work smarter and give myself more free time somehow, then find activities I can do out of the house away from him...!

How're you today lovely? I feel you on the DH Xbox obsession, honestlyyyy it drives me mad. Here if you need us x

Finally saw the scales move again today after a few days eating healthily and not seeing a change. I weigh every day so I can stay motivated as a week feels like forever to me!

herewegoagain2025 · 15/01/2025 08:53

Morning gang! Sorry for being MIA, I'm starting a new job in a couple of weeks so handovers have sent me a bit west. Some fab updates, everyone is doing amazing!!

@DivaRainbow that is fantastic!! I don't know how you do nights, I would be permanently face down in snacks.

@MrsSethGecko what a fab BMI decrease! Bet you're over the moon

@iwentjasonwaterfalls how is the walking pad? Excited for mine! It'll be here this Saturday (I was getting ready to kick off with Amazon when it wasn't delivered this weekend but luckily checked my order email first that showed it had always said 18th, oops).

@NessaSmith brill loss, well done you 🌟

@PlantDoctor I've just googled the zip line, that looks incredible and what a bloody lovely goal to work towards too!

@TryingToShine how're you love?

20st 7 today so 2lbs off but I'm really happy with that as had an unexpected day off track on Sunday 🥳 going to go to the gym this morning AND I actually meal prepped, who even am I?! We've got a new joiner on the team (that I'm leaving...) so they're being taken out to lunch tomorrow so will be picking the most sensible option. Hope everyone has a good week x

@iwentjasonwaterfalls I think the walking pad is fab. I’ve managed to get outside for lots of walks recently but having it there as a back up on dark evenings is great and means I have no excuses!

@NessaSmith Well done on the 3lb loss.

@DivaRainbow Glad you’re feeling positive 😊 it really helps keep you on track.

@Cinderellahasletherselfgo Do you have a pool near you/do you enjoy swimming? It’s a good way to escape out of the house for an hour or so and a gentle exercise.

@PlantDoctor That’s good! A week does feel like a long time, I sometimes have a sneaky peak at the weekend to see how I’m doing and whether I can justify having a treat!

@herewegoagain2025 Good luck with the new job!
Well done on the 2lb loss, we’re twinning again, I also lost 2lbs!

Again, haven’t felt too restricted this week, just eating less of what I’d usually eat and making some changes like a piece of fruit instead of a packet of crisps!

Hope everyone is doing ok 🦋🌸

DivaRainbow · 15/01/2025 09:24

Happy Wednesday!

So I have lost 1kg this week
SW 84KG
CW 82.1KG
GW 70KG

Going slow but I don't mind. Planning to go out for a Chinese tomorrow night so I'll be extra mindful today

NessaSmith · 15/01/2025 09:29

I've been 500-1000 over every day since Saturday. What is wrong with me! I'm such a self sabotager. I'm logging every mouthful though so even though I'm going over I'm still being accountable to myself.

Today I am 100% determined to stay within my calories, and moving forwards. Except tomorrow because it's my birthday and I'm going out for lunch and dinner!

MrsSethGecko · 15/01/2025 16:10

@NessaSmith don't beat yourself up, it's hard. Could you maybe do maintenance calories for a few days to take the pressure off?

I've got my bloody period today and I'm trying so hard to avoid crisps!!

Wehaditsogood · 15/01/2025 16:33

Hello,
May I join you, please?

My starting weight was 98.8kg in September.
Yesterday I was 86.4kg.
Long way to go.

I try to keep to the NHS recommendation of eating about 600 calories fewer than what I need. I have porridge, fruit and oatcakes during the day. I still have a full dinner. DH cooks very healthy meals.
I have been naturally more active since I started losing weight.

DM was shocked that we both lost weight over Christmas just by not eating all the time as per usual.

What is the walking pad like? I like the sound of that.

PlantDoctor · 16/01/2025 08:47

Hi @Wehaditsogood , sounds like you've done really well so far! Welcome :)

Wehaditsogood · 16/01/2025 09:08

Thanj you. It is easier and more visible in the very beginning. Then comes the slog.

My motivation is that every month I lose weight I save over £100 on WLI. I am so tight with money 🤣

TryingToShine · 16/01/2025 14:56

@Wehaditsogood Well done on your loss since September.
I'm really pleased that I got a walking pad, I still try and walk outside as my first option but it's nice to have there as backup on cold, wet days. Just a smaller version of a treadmill really which you control with a remote control. I put mine upright against the wall in my hallway when not in use and barely notice it's there.

Cinderellahasletherselfgo · 16/01/2025 23:59

@PlantDoctor and @iwentjasonwaterfalls DP really wants to do this <a class="break-all" href="//@www.zipworld.co.uk/adventures/velocity" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">zipline in Wales but (understandably!) they have a strict weight limit, and he's well above it!

@DivaRainbow I found night shifts an absolute killer Confused brilliant news on the snacking!

@Wehaditsogood I can't believe how expensive the WLI are, well out of my budget even if I wanted to try them...

@herewegoagain2025 unfortunately the only pool near me is the ex-council sports centre, who are clearly on a tight budget as the water is always freezing. I quite like swimming but not the faff of drying my hair afterwards! DP spent three hours on the Xbox last night but only (ahem) two last night - it's just his perception of it being 'my job' to do kids bedtimes, cleaning up, packed lunch prep etc whilst he gets all this gaming time. He finds more and more excuses for doing less and less whilst moaning that he wants to lose weight Confused

MrsSethGecko · 17/01/2025 07:49

Morning all, how's everyone? It seemed a lot lighter when we took the dog out this morning. I can't wait for spring.

15 stone 10 this morning!

kalokagathos · 17/01/2025 08:49

I had an amazing success with Zoe app. I had to mentally recalibrate how I think of food. Some things I got rid of and the weight fell off very quick (what I actually thought was healthy- home made sourdough rye bread was sending my sugar levels sky high, I had no idea until I had a glucose monitor for 2 weeks!). Check their YouTube channel out: I_

Loads of great stuff on this channel including diet and (peri)menopause.

For me, I got to my target weight since September with nearly no exercise (before 3 x bootcamp and my carbs meant I could not break through to target weight). Losing weight 90% is diet first. Exercise is toning and Speedo g metabolism a little. Be data driven and know what's good for YOU (we all have different blood sugar and fat control) because that is knowledge for life, your body is your temple, your enterprise and you are its manager. That's the only vehicle you have, let's look after it. Proactively!

I would like to join!

I’m down to 15st2 which is great but my aim is 10st. (I’m only just over 5ft so that just gets me to a healthy bmi)

I have lost 2lbs this week but I’m feeling a bit down and daunted at the idea of how far I have to go.

I am struggling with negative feelings about myself but I know that isn’t helping me! If anything it makes me more likely to reach for the sugar.

Christmasbargainhunter · 18/01/2025 20:17

Hello,

I would like to join too please. I have joined so many threads, diet clubs and fads. I'm currently 17st 6lb. I can't believe I've done this to myself but I need to change.

I too am struggling with negative feelings about myself but I'm so uncomfortable all the time I need to force myself not to snack.

Welcome 😊 I am an evening snacker, so doing things like intermittent fasting (11 to 7 ish) helps me. Or snacking on grapes/protein. What will you try?

I'm definitely a stress eater too :( Exercise is meant to release the happy hormones, so I like to go for walks/swim to help a bit.

Yes! I have noticed when I run in the morning I make better food choices during the day.

PlantDoctor · 20/01/2025 08:02

Down another 1.8 kg this week! Very happy with that :) I'm very proud of myself, as had an awfully stressful weekend. That would normally turn me to eat all the chocolate I could find, but I decided I didn't want to do that anymore. Long may this resolve last (not entirely sure where it's coming from!)

SW: 136kg
CW: 132.4 kg

Total loss: 3.6kg

NessaSmith · 20/01/2025 11:47

Gained a pound last week (unsurprising) so feel more committed this week. I'm already feeling hungry but I need to learn to live with that feeling
