Can I join? Except for take-away ban. Surely healthy takeaways like tandoori chicken would be ok.

I agree that Judith Wills' recipes are great but would be too embarrassed to have a book called fat girl slim on my shelf.

happymerryberries · 09/01/2005 08:40

I have lost 5 pound in a week on the GI diet. I'm well chuffed, about to have my diet allowed cooked breakfast!

emmaTooMuchGrub · 09/01/2005 08:47

Morning all.....yesterdays food was-

Brekky=

Me- cheerios with semi-skimmed milk.
Dh- sultana bran

Midmorning=

Me-Grapes, not mesured though, does that matter?
Dh-nothing

Lunch=

Me- 2 slices of lean carvery beef.No bread. 1 muller light yoghurt.
Dh- 2 WHITE FLUFFY SOFT BREAD ROLLS (!!!!!) with lean beef and mustard, 5 cherry tomatos.

Afternoon=

Me- 1 apple
Dh- Nothing

Dinner=

Both of us had chicken stir fry. Very little oil used (extra virgin olive oil).

Dh- 1 muller light yoghurt.

We both had some Go-head apple and raisins things again. Sorry cod, I was desparate for something sweet.

Only 1 cup of tea for me all day. 2-3 low calorie orange squash drinks. Hard no water...will try harder with that.

2 teas, 1 coffee for Dh. Water and a 1 squash drink. 2 Cans of draught smooth bitter.

emmaTooMuchGrub · 09/01/2005 08:50

Btw How much cereal are we allowed?

measured this morning thinking 4 oz but could fit all that in the bowl!

Had between 2.5 and 3 oz. Some of which Ds3 ate.

How much is too much do you all think?

lowcalCOD · 09/01/2005 08:57

thats fine emma
als long as it stops you snacking u modnring and isnt sugar laden I think its ok.

ImVHO the point of a diet like this is to remind you haow you should be eating day to day - i.e snacking on fruit, eating more veg and consuming less alcohol so any healthy food habit - even an extra apple or two is fine

lowcalCOD · 09/01/2005 08:58

thats shoudl say " SNACKING MID MORNING"

lowcalCOD · 09/01/2005 09:04

and no takeaways

sorry none of them are healthy

lowcalCOD · 09/01/2005 09:05

ps crab pasta was only 5 points

emmaTooMuchGrub · 09/01/2005 09:11

I really have noticed a difference, going from a high fat, lots of bread, unhealthy main meal diet to a low fat, lots of veg, NO BUTTER diet.

Won't go into details but I'm not clogged up IYKWIM.

weightwatchingwaterwitch · 09/01/2005 09:25

I think I've lost 2lbs in 4 days. That's good isn't it? I feel thinner somehow. Like the look of that book too nasa.

Blossomhill · 09/01/2005 09:53

So glad I can join in So no potatoes at all????? What am I going to eat instead?

weightwatchingwaterwitch · 09/01/2005 09:53

vegetables, blossomhill I'm afraid.

Hulababy · 09/01/2005 09:53

Looks like lots here are doing really well
Off to gym this monring to do my workout programme - eek! And then have parents cooking, so doing a big stew. Have some points saved up from the past week, so using that to have some nice crunchy bread and some red wine with it

romantick · 09/01/2005 09:57

so what is it with diets etc.you all need to know how to eat properley.most people think pasta is good but in fact it is good if you are going to run a marathon or do alot of excerise.
the secret is to have small amounts of food .
as in the french way.
how many large french people do you see.not many
so your small plate of food should be decorated so it looks more than what it is.
you can eat good food and not put the weight on.
have very small glasses of wine.with lots of water.

GreatBigFatHeiferEnid · 09/01/2005 11:09

11 2 this am.

Bowl porridge this morning
apple
banana

Lunch at MILs - irresistable roast beef I'm afraid although I'll try and lay off the potatoes.
PIL will think I am pg if I don't have any wine so will have a small glass.

She will have made pudding as she knows I love puddings but doesn't know I am dieting so I will have to have small pud too in the interest of family relations you understand.

Bet I'll be back to 11 3 tomorrow , still, thats still 3lbs lost.

marthamoo · 09/01/2005 11:10

Was doing very well til last night's booze-fest when I ended up eating pizza at 11pm. Sheeesh!

GreatBigFatHeiferEnid · 09/01/2005 11:10

romantik, I agree. Although you do see some old fat French women. And generally they are not as tall and healthy looking as us lot so its not all roses. But do agree with smaller portions.

a little pasta with tonnes of roasted veggies? I might have that actually. Btw the roast-in bags from Lakeland are good for roasting veggies as no oil needed.

LapsedGymJunkie · 09/01/2005 19:06

Bearless, you can hoover and type I am very very impressed.
