Hi all. Well I went to gym today but not to work out really. Took DD swimming. Once Dh joined us, after his workout I did do 8 lengths (which for a rubbish swimmer like me is quite good) and I do my workout tomorrow.

Food for today:

Milk allowance = 1
Apple = 0.5
WW toast, unbuttered = 1
Tinned tomatoes = 0
3 Veggie sausage = 3
Mash, no fat = 2
Vegetables = 0.5
Gravy = 0.5
WW dessert = 3
Half bottle of wine = 3.5 (still drinking!)

Total = 15

weightwatchingwaterwitch · 08/01/2005 18:21

I've been quite good (went to bed at 9.30 last night, also no wine) too but have just added up and it's 1000 cals! So a 500 cal supper for me and no booze again. Am feeling inspired again having re-read Fat Girl Slim, it's a great cookbook. You don't have to read below it's v boring but it helps me to write it down!

1 piece toast, scrape olive spread, marmite
2 small apples
1 sesame snap (other 2 from pack still in cupboard)
handful grapes
4 Caramel snack a jacks
half an avocado
100 cal worth of tiger prawns
small slice of roast beef
4 pistacio nuts (spelling, that doesn't look right)

Hulababy · 08/01/2005 18:24

Tomorrow I am planning on cooking a JO beef stew recipe for DH and my parents, and DD of course. But I don't eat meat - anyone know of a nice, veggie, low fat stew I can make for me?

weightwatchingwaterwitch · 08/01/2005 18:28

Hula, beefless bolognase recipe below. It's from the Carol Timperley baby veggie cookbook but is v nice. I usually make it with kidney beans though.

(Large quantities, makes 8 adult portions but freezes well)

60 ml/4 tablespoons olive oil
175 g/6 oz button mushrooms, quartered
1 large onion, chopped
30 ml/2 tablespoons tomato puree
2 cloves garlic, crushed
150 ml/5 fl oz red wine
1 tablespoon chopped basil
15 ml/1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
scant teaspoon dried oregano
salt and black pepper to taste
1 bay leaf
225 g/8 oz can chopped tomatoes
1 carrot, peeled and diced
2 x 400 g/l4 oz cans brown lentils, drained
1 stick celery, finely chopped
1 tablespoon chopped flat-leaf parsley
1 red pepper, seeded and chopped

Heat the oil, add the onion, garlic, basil, oregano and bay leaf and fry until the onions are transparent. Add the carrot, celery and red pepper, cook for a few minutes, then add the mushrooms. When the mushrooms begin to wilt, stir in the remaining ingredients, bring to the boil, cover and simmer for approximately 40 minutes. Allow to cool. Transfer to a food processor and blend coarsely (if you prefer a chunkier texture blend only half the mixture).
Before serving, reheat and check seasoning.

NB Last bit only applies if you're cooking it for babies of course!

weightwatchingwaterwitch · 08/01/2005 18:29

And you could easily use less olive oil, making it lower fat.

emmaTooMuchGrub · 08/01/2005 18:29

Dh had just informed me that he is actually only 5'6".

short ar$e!

will list grub later, once 3 small beasts are in bed and I can get some proper peace!

nasa!! oh the relief, honestly I was even thinking about you in sainsburys and when we walked the dog.....it's been really bugging me. I'll sleep well tonight

Hulababy · 08/01/2005 18:30

Cheers WWWW - I will have a scan through. Do you think it'd be okay on it's own though, just served with crusty bread?

weightwatchingwaterwitch · 08/01/2005 18:56

Hula, we had it on its own the other day, without bread even, as I'm trying to do lowish carbs and it was lovely imo. But with bread it would be even nicer. Or rice or on a jacket potato.

Kittypickle · 08/01/2005 19:03

I'm having a bad day with this, I am SO hungry that I've gone over my points and had some bread Was doing well until today and had lost 2 pounds. I'll have to try very hard tomorrow

Hulababy · 08/01/2005 19:18

Hmmm - will have a look through it then

DissLocated · 08/01/2005 19:27

WWW - someone else with Fat Girl Slim! Love that cook book but can't get hold of many of the Japanese seasonings she talks about. Have recently developed a fad on her noodly soupy things - yum!

Furball · 08/01/2005 19:30

hi di ho all you codettes!

I couldn't resist a jump on the scales and, hooray I've lost 3 lbs!

1 bowl of shreddies

2 x scrambled eggs, with a splodge of brown sauce.

very small portion of lasagne with greek salad and spinnach and a splodge of tzatsiki.

handful of grapes
banana
apple

GreatBigFatHeiferEnid · 08/01/2005 20:01

11 1 and a half this am - if thats right that means 4 and a half pounds since Tue - seems too much to me.

Spoke to my mum on the phone this morning and she is very cross that I am dieting when not well (recovering from tonsillitis) and ordered me to go and have big bowl porridge with honey and banana and then scrambled eggs with bacon. So I did .

Out for lunch, had small chicken salad and glass of fizzy water.

steak and salad tonight.

Had two glasses of wine last night and didn't really enjoy them!

Having two more tonight.

GreatBigFatHeiferEnid · 08/01/2005 20:04

Wish we could swop BH-my boobs are the first place I put weight on and my main reason to lose weight. I have a little mantra I chant to myself "lose weight or spend £6000 on breast reduction and endure lots of pain etc"
Concentrates my mind beautifully!
