Losing a couple of kg support thread

GetYourHandOut · 28/04/2024 15:36

I'm blaming the shite weather rather than the biscuits but I'm still in my winter phase and am at the top end of my usual weight range.

I'd like to lose a couple of kg to feel more comfortable and confident as summer (hopefully) approaches.

Does anyone want to join me for a support and accountability thread?

I will! I am aiming to tighten up a bit for summer, going away early July so that's my end date and I am starting tomorrow!!

notgettinganyyounger · 28/04/2024 20:01

And me. Need to lose about7lb. Terrible at dieting , so I'll be increasing my exercise, mainly walking.

GetYourHandOut · 28/04/2024 20:50

I'm very happy to have some company!

I'll post my starting weight tomorrow but don't feel under any pressure to do the same.

Great, I will do the same!

notgettinganyyounger · 28/04/2024 21:23

I don't want to weigh, as I like to lose weight by the feel of my clothes. I'm in a tight 12 but happy to stay a 12 but without the battle to get jeans on 🤣

CheapMustard · 28/04/2024 21:35

Me too! I’ll start and join tomorrow too. I’m def at the top of my top weight!

Yes please 👍 Son’s wedding in 12 weeks - would be happier at a couple of kilos less but don’t feel motivated which is a bit odd for me!!

everycowandagain · 29/04/2024 06:58

OK, I have fired the starting gun. I am 10 stone 4 this morning, I am aiming for around 9 1/2 stone. My plan is consistency not perfection. I am aiming to pre plan and pre log my food, stay as close to my calories as possible and hit my steps.

I weigh daily but I watch the trend over a couple of weeks to see what progress I am making so for the first couple of weeks I will log but not obsess about it and I will focus on the process not the outcome.

Looking forward to feeling a bit leaner for summer (if/when it arrives....)

Thighdentitycrisis · 29/04/2024 07:17

@Shortkiwi
snap!
Im a snug 10 and need to lose about 1/2 stone or 3-4,kg. For various reasons I don’t have a lot of exercise opportunities so need a lot of willpower!

OOlivePenderghast · 29/04/2024 07:36

I’d love to join! I woke up this morning feeling motivated. I’ve got about 8kg to lose. I think I’m going to start today trying to do the 75 soft so 75 days of healthy eating and daily 45 minutes of exercise. Good luck everyone 😊

Yayee, more joiners!

Welcome all, whether you want to weigh or not, whether you're following a particular plan or not.

I've weighed in at 66.3kg this morning. I'm aiming for bottom of 64kg.

I don't have a particular time period in mind but I'm going to a festival in July so I'd want to be feeling my best by then.

My meals are generally fine and I already exercise regularly........it's the snacking that does me in! So I need to step away from the work biscuit tin.

It's a sunny morning here, which helps with the mood and motivation ☀️

I’m going to put it in kilos as I can’t face seeing the number in st + lb.
81kg I want to get to 76kg.
Starting the day with Greek yog + banana + spinach + 30g protein. I’m an old veggie so struggle. then meal plan lunch + dinner.
Plus aim to do a long walk or gym class daily.
I don’t mind being chubby, but hate being fat!

ProfessionalTeaDrinker · 29/04/2024 07:57

I'm in! I've been trying to lose the same couple of kg for a few weeks now and it starts to drop a little then just comes back. It's being very stubborn! I don't really want to get into counting every little thing and being really strict, it doesn't do well for me and my attitude to food in the long term, so I'm trying to make healthier choices and stop snacking so much with increased exercises. Usually this is enough but it's taking longer to see results at the minute so need some extra motivation!

ManchesterBeatrice · 29/04/2024 08:04

I'll join, I'm 55.4kg now (down from 59 in early march) and determined to get to 52 by end of May 😱

Eviebeans · 29/04/2024 08:05

I’d like to join- not sure how much I’d like to lose but know that eating like I did yesterday can’t continue lol
I’m at the age where losing pounds off my bum has a negative impact on my face
good luck everyone

ManchesterBeatrice · 29/04/2024 08:06

Spinning 4 - 5 times a week and no more than 1200 cals.

Still allowing myself little treats thoguh, big thing has been stopping drinking in the week.

GetYourHandOut · 29/04/2024 08:09

@CheapMustard I find the numbers in kg much easier to deal with than stone and pounds. It doesn't seem to have the same "trigger" for my brain, if you know what I mean?

OP posts:
CheapMustard · 29/04/2024 08:43

@GetYourHandOut I definitely know what you mean… so will be sticking to kg’s until I hit a less triggering number! 😂

everycowandagain · 29/04/2024 09:12

@GetYourHandOut @CheapMustard I use both kilos and stones/pounds depending on which gives me the better feels. So I am aiming for under 10 stone to begin with and 59.9kg eventually!!

everycowandagain · 29/04/2024 09:25

And hi to all the joiners!!

Ha! I totally get this! Seeing a 9 at the start is a real buzz 😂
