2 Stones Off By Easter- a thread for those with lots to lose in 2024.

The 2 Stones off by Christmas thread was pretty successful.
Hopefully this one will be just as useful.
The idea is that losing 2 stones is just the start. If you have a lot to lose then it can seem daunting so... small targets.

That said, to get 2 stones off by Easter then we need to lose a bit over
2 lbs per week so a bit of dedication is needed.
Start Date- January 1st but join when you can.

Weigh In Day - usually Monday but it's up to you.

For those that are coming from the original thread I think for the new thread we need to add an extra element. Self care! Anything you can add to help you feel a bit better. Skin care? Body Lotion? Flossing your teeth?
Just a little something in addition to watching what you eat.

Sorry to those of you who haven’t seen the losses you deserve this week. Keep pushing on.

Just over a kilo for me this week but I’m rounding down. So 6 kilos down now. Almost a stone. Really hope I can keep this momentum going!

Spaceracers · 12/03/2024 20:27

@RedDoughnut we will all definitely need another thread!

I had chicken for lunch and dinners (salad and stir fry). Feeling very uninspired food wise!

If anyone eats anything particularly delicious and low calorie. Let me know!

Hank86 · 12/03/2024 20:34

Hi everyone! Checking in but I've well and truly fallen off the weight loss wagon - our poor dog had a freak accident and slipped a disc in her back which has left her with spinal damage, 2 days before DH flew to Australia for a 2 week trip. So currently flying solo and caring for a dog who can't walk plus our 2 year old and 4 year old. Nightmare timing and the diet has gone straight out the window!! I am determined to get back on it when DH returns and I have someone to share the load with. See you all on the next thread!

Hank86 · 12/03/2024 20:35

Oh and a massive well done to everyone who is still going!! Keep it up!!!

KinderToMyFutureSelf · 14/03/2024 06:22

Morning everyone, I think I need to shake things up a bit - no loss last week and just a pound this week ....

Seaitoverthere · 15/03/2024 08:16

2.2lb off for me this week as the scales finally going in right direction and I am finally lighter than 4 weeks ago which has been frustrating as been in calorie deficit the whole time.

I am however pretty much unable to walk and mid 50s so I suppose it was never going to be a quick progress. 2 stone loss since November and a stone exactly since the start of this year.

bfsham · 15/03/2024 09:38

SW 2/1/24-16 stones

CW 15/3/ 24-15 stones 4.7pounds

0.3 pound loss this week -better than nothing I suppose.

9.3 lb loss since starting this.

BMI now 29

EW-14 stones

Fallen off the wagon this week for the first time since the beginning of January. Not sure why; I think I was out of my usual routine, messed up a couple of times by mistake and then sort of gave up. I'll start again tomorrow and see if I can get re-motivated.

SW: 15st 0lb
CW: 13st 8lb
GW: 12st 5lb (to start with)

Sleeplessinseattle234 · 18/03/2024 06:23

I did it. !!!!!!! Seven months of dieting. And …. Drum roll …..

starting weight August 2023 - 13.1 stone
current weight March 2024 - 9.13!!!!
Goal weight - 9 stone.

I am in my last stone bracket. !!!! 13 pounds till I have to figure out how to maintain this.

suneetime · 18/03/2024 07:04

Well done @Sleeplessinseattle234 Excellent news. I’ve stayed the same this week. Better than a gain I suppose. I’ll keep going and just hope for better next week.

@RedDoughnut we’re going to need a new thread.

recklessgran · 18/03/2024 07:27

Morning all this weigh day Monday.
After a spectacular fall from the wagon due to a whole weekend of excess it's a stay the same for me. That in itself is a miracle after what I've been up to.
My confession - I was out for lunch with my grandson on Saturday [Mother's Day present], out for dinner with DH and friends on Saturday night and out for Sunday lunch yesterday with DD3 and her DH. I exercised no restraint whatsover, drank raspberry gin cocktails, and wine, ate desserts on top of dinner and generally had a great time,
I'm so cross with myself now though as on Friday I was online for a 2lb loss but due to a total lack of restraint I've lost another week on this journey!!! Arrrgh. Oh well, onwards and downwards at least I'm still here and with no more planned eating out until May12th I'm going to be super strict!
@Sleeplessinseattle234 you're awsome! Nearly there and now on the home straight. You must feel great!
@RedDoughnut hope you're O.K. - we need a new thread as this one's nearly full. Thanlks for keeping us all here despite your own troubles.

Fluffygoon · 18/03/2024 08:32

@Sleeplessinseattle234
Amazing- well done you and a reminder of what can be achieved.
Not sure I’m brave enough to get on the scales - birthdays and meals out this week so no restraint. Back on it this week.

Bigbus · 18/03/2024 09:38

I haven't posted for a while as I lost my way but weighed in today. I won't make 2 stone by Easter but with a bit of a push I might make it to 1 stone if I really get my head down, which will still be an achievement for me.

SW 14st 7lbs
CW 13st 12lbs
GW 12st

Well done everyone still sticking with it even through the ups and downs. Here's to more downs this week!

Apprenante · 18/03/2024 09:48

@Sleeplessinseattle234 that's wonderful! Good luck with the next stage. I'm in awe of you.

Starting weight 14 st 6.5 lbs
Current weight 12 stone 10.8 lbs
Loss this week 2.2lbs

Very happy with this but I will have a very significant birthday (70) on Wednesday. Meals out plus a few days in France, then more celebratory meals.

I like to think I can manage to avoid alcohol and huge amounts of extra food but . ... oh well. I guess a few weeks will deal with the inevitable increase. But I certainly won't have lost 2 stone by Easter. Sorry.

Spaceracers · 18/03/2024 09:55

Well done @Sleeplessinseattle234 - we have a similar amount to lose but you're much further ahead so it's very inspiring!

SW: 12st 4
GW: 8st 10
CW: 11st 1.8lbs (not rounding up!)

This week I lost 1.5lbs and pleased with that although it's getting harder. My goal is to be 10stone something by Easter Monday as I always weigh in on a Monday - which is doable.

I started mid Jan but even taken in this into account I still wouldn't have made the 2 stone target!

Looking forward to the next thread!

Oh and enjoy your birthday @Apprenante !

needtoshrink · 18/03/2024 11:19

SW 15 stone
CW 14 stone
TW 13 stone

Just over a pound off this week- not idea but pleased it's still going on the right direction. Would have really loved to be just under 14 this week but sadly not quite there yet! Just keep swimming.....
Some great losses on here - well done all.

RedDoughnut · 18/03/2024 12:52

I've just set up the new thread so we can keep going for the next couple of weeks.

I can't manage the MN clicky link though. I keep meaning to look up how to do it...

@WinterStar1
Thank you

I was trying to do the link where just the word highlights. It's something to do with adding square brackets or something?
I used to be able to do it but now I just use the App and I can't remember
