2 Stones Off By Easter- a thread for those with lots to lose in 2024.

RedDoughnut · 30/12/2023 20:42

The 2 Stones off by Christmas thread was pretty successful.
Hopefully this one will be just as useful.
The idea is that losing 2 stones is just the start. If you have a lot to lose then it can seem daunting so... small targets.

That said, to get 2 stones off by Easter then we need to lose a bit over
2 lbs per week so a bit of dedication is needed.
Start Date- January 1st but join when you can.

Weigh In Day - usually Monday but it's up to you.

For those that are coming from the original thread I think for the new thread we need to add an extra element. Self care! Anything you can add to help you feel a bit better. Skin care? Body Lotion? Flossing your teeth?
Just a little something in addition to watching what you eat.

Evening all. I’m rejoining. I’ve fallen off the thread in Feb but really need to get back on track so I’m going to make a big effort from now until Easter. 5 weeks to go and I’d love to lose another 8lbs by then which will be a stone in total. Then I’ll have 2 more to go!

recklessgran · 26/02/2024 22:38

Hey @RedDoughnut you're back! I'm so sorry for your loss but SO happy you're back with us. Gentle hugs boss. Be kind to yourself and just stroll alongside us until you feel like joining in. We're just off on holiday to Gran Canaria so a gain for me this coming week will be inevitable I'm sure even with the best will in the world! Never mind - I'll report the damage next Wednesday morning. Keep going everyone.

Seaitoverthere · 27/02/2024 07:14

Good to see you @RedDoughnut .

I seem to have stalled and be slightly putting on a pound or so the last few weeks despite being in calorie deficit. I would think a plateau but it coincides with being back on a medication that the rheumatology nurse swore would t affect my weight but I found a thread online that suggests it does for a few people.

RedDoughnut · 27/02/2024 09:19

Morning all

I feel ready to tackle today without overeating. I can feel a difference in my mindset.
I think in the right frame of mind dieting becomes so much easier.

Does anyone else feel the same?

@RedDoughnut for sure! You need to be in the right place mentally to commit to it. Glad you're feeling better.

I am also back on the wagon today after 10 days off. Only gained half a kilo or so which I'm pleased about, but need to focus if I'm going to lose another 5kg by Easter as planned!

SW on 26 Jan: 82.9kg
CW: 80.1kg
Easter goal: 75kg

Satincat · 27/02/2024 16:04

2lb on for me this last week. Going in the wrong direction...

It's no surprise though. A recent series of health tests and appointments, family visitors staying, and half term off with the kids along with home baking and treats, has had my normal routines and healthy eating plans all out of the window. I don't have the discipline when I'm feeling anxious, and out of orderly fashion.

However. I'm still sticking with the process, still being accountable to myself, as I still believe I can keep going, and at least I'm still well down from where I started. My new goal - 11st by Easter. That would be a good achievement for me.

Well done to everyone who has made good progress! Keep up the amazing work Flowers

falgelednl · 27/02/2024 18:01

I missed posting yesterday and can see this has been a tricky week for some people.
I was wondering why we put ourselves through this dieting and am hopeful that I’ll be able to feel and/or see the improvement soon (which is what my sim is - I want to feel happier in my own body).

SW 88.9kg
CW 82.2kg

total loss:6.7kg (14.77lb)

LolaJ87 · 27/02/2024 21:13

Another kilo down this week! That’s 4 in total.

I’m aiming for 11st by Easter too, on 28th December I was 11st 12.5 and today I’m 11st 5.5 so I’ve only managed 7lbs in two months! I train 4 times a week and walk a lot, my daily calorie goal is 1400 (bmr 1202) this time last year I was just over 10 stone - so depressing!

Definitely reddoughnut, the more healthily I eat the more healthy I want to be and the less crap I eat. A good nights sleep helps too. I've started having herbal sleepy tea before I go to bed and it really helps me to stop waking up in the night.

Managing to get back on track now. Yesterday's weigh in:

SW: 77kg
CW: 71.6kg
GW: 60kg

kirinm · 28/02/2024 07:49

Last weigh in for February.

SW: 15.10
CW: 14.13

I'd really like to get down to 14.6 by Easter so a loss of 1.5 stone total but I'll take whatever I can if the number keeps going down.

KinderToMyFutureSelf · 29/02/2024 06:12

Morning everyone- quick weigh in this morning - a pound off ...

SW 16:7
CW 15:4
GW 13:0

bfsham · 29/02/2024 12:30

SW 2/1/24-16 stones

CW 29/2/24-15 stones 5.8 lb
BMI now 29.1

EW-14 stones

0.7pound loss this week. Still slow
Still slogging away on C25K week 6 started.
Unlikely to be 2 stones off by Easter, more like 1 off if I'm very lucky as just under 8lb loss in 9 weeks 🥲

LolaJ87 · 29/02/2024 12:35

@bfsham you know what they say though - averaging a pound a week totals 4 stone in a year. You're doing amazingly well.

Well done. I'm half way through week 7.

Seaitoverthere · 01/03/2024 07:46

0.5lb on this week. Am just under a pound up from 3 weeks ago despite 14800 cal deficit which has coincided exactly with restarting medication.

bfsham · 01/03/2024 10:25

Thanks @kirinm @LolaJ87
Was feeling a bit despondent but that helps me to keep on track. Well done to you both too xx

BeachedOff · 01/03/2024 12:23

Lots of amazing results here!

I started at 13st 7 and I'm currently at 12st 10 so I don't think I'm going to achieve 2 stone off by Easter. Having a bit of a tricky week with it.

needtoshrink · 01/03/2024 16:38

I went up slightly this week then didn't post because I was too depressed! But I am a daily weigher and I can see it fluctuating quite a bit over time. I'm trying to learn patience with it- took me a long time to get to this weight and it isn't going to melt off overnight! Also that while first week/fortnight enthusiasm is great I need to find a way to stay in a solid calorie deficit for a long time. Doesn't help that I'm due on now and I want all the food in the world! I'm weighing my food now to make sure I'm not massively underestimating what I eat and trying to take it a day at a time.

Great to see some big losses on here and solidarity to the others who are struggling to move much!

CurlsnSunshinetime4tea · 01/03/2024 17:09

i'm excited to start the month at 151.8
i was 151.4 on wednesday but i'm still seeing my fair share of 152's iykwim
feb was an okay month with a solid 4 lb loss.
i hope i can do a bit better in march, but 1 lb a week is not dreadful.
this leaves me with 10.8 lbs to go till my goal weight of 141.
and honestly by 145 i start feeling great and have difficulty getting rid of the last 4. but i'll worry about that when i reach 145.
okay off to eat my oats and visualize 149 and hoping to never see the 50's again.

Hi again all. Some great losses on here! I’ve been doing OMAD aince 8th Jan and since I had a T2 diabetes diagnosis at the end of Jan I’ve been mega determined to try to lose the weight and stay off meds. I’m a daily dieter and today have him the 2 stone loss mark. I’m really pleased, although I have a wedding to go to tomorrow so need to be as careful as I can! 😬

Keep up the good work everyone! We’ve got this!

SW 8th Jan: 16 stone 2.25
CW 14st 2.25
First target: 13 stone

Congratulations @WhatIsThisCough! I've not read all the posts so apologies if anyone else has also reached the "2 Stones off for Easter". This is absolutely brilliant and such an achievement! StarStar

chalkyc2 · 04/03/2024 08:07

Tough week over here. Appear to have put on a kilo despite decent food and exercise. Bit gutted!! Started the week with a 6am peloton session - need to slightly rethink things!

Apprenante · 04/03/2024 08:39

Starting weight 14st 6.5lbs
Current weight 12st 13.5lbs
Loss so far 21lbs
Loss this week 2.5lbs

I am ridiculously pleased to see 12 stone something on the scales - even if it is very nearly still 13 stone. My BMI is 33 so nothing to celebrate really.

Well done @WhatIsThisCough . You must be so pleased. Have you reduced your Hb1ac level much? I'm pre diabetic and it's a great incentive to lose weight but I can't imagine coping on OMAD. I take my hat off to you.🌟🌟🌟

Walkingbkwrm · 04/03/2024 09:10

Congratulations @WhatIsThisCough ! No chance of making 2 stone by Easter here but after a rough couple of weeks where I put some back on I lost 0.9 kg this week. Happy I’m heading back in the right direction- just a bit depressing how easy it is to slip off course.
