2 Stones Off By Easter- a thread for those with lots to lose in 2024.

The 2 Stones off by Christmas thread was pretty successful.
Hopefully this one will be just as useful.
The idea is that losing 2 stones is just the start. If you have a lot to lose then it can seem daunting so... small targets.

That said, to get 2 stones off by Easter then we need to lose a bit over
2 lbs per week so a bit of dedication is needed.
Start Date- January 1st but join when you can.

Weigh In Day - usually Monday but it's up to you.

For those that are coming from the original thread I think for the new thread we need to add an extra element. Self care! Anything you can add to help you feel a bit better. Skin care? Body Lotion? Flossing your teeth?
Just a little something in addition to watching what you eat.

Hi all, well done on the great losses. I've been following occasionally but haven't posted in a while.

I wanted to come on and have a little boast to tell you all I'm into a lower number but its not to be unfortunately. Last Thurs (weigh in day) I lost 1 stone but this week stayed the same. 2 stone for Easter was too ambitious for me but I am hoping for a 1lb weekly loss average, or 4 a month so that means Easter goal of 12st 10lbs. I just never want to see number 13 on a scale again.

SW 2/1/24-16 stones

CW 7/3/ 24-15 stones 5 lb

9 lb loss since starting this.

BMI now 29

EW-14 stones

0.8 loss this last week.

Very slow but going in the right direction.

WhatIsThisCough · 08/03/2024 20:49

Evening everyone,

Hope you’re all keeping going! Just another quick update from me. It’s exactly 2 months to the day since I started and I’m now 2 stone 5 down- yay!

SW 8th Jan: 16st 2.25lbs
CW 8th March: 13st 11.25lbs

With another 5.5 weeks to go until my next diabetes check, I plan to keep going and see if it makes a difference and keeps me off meds. A really good thing is I’m exactly 1 stone down today since I was last weighed by my diabetic nurse so that’s great too! Please keep everything crossed for me and my blood results!

I’m still 3 stone above my healthy BMI but will see how it goes after I’ve got to 13 stone or so I think.

Onwards and downwards! 👇

bfsham · 08/03/2024 21:15

Bloody hell @WhatIsThisCough that's good going. Well done !! 👏

@WhatIsThisCough you are a champion! And that must be having a really good effect on your diabetes. Go you!!!

TeenDivided · 09/03/2024 09:19

I went to M&S yesterday.
In Jan I bought new jeans down a size from previously.
Yesterday I fitted the next size down again. Smile
I can also cut my toenails more easily.

bfsham · 09/03/2024 10:12

Well done @TeenDivided.
Yes, it does feel easier cutting my toenails too 😀

Spaceracers · 09/03/2024 11:34

Love this @TeenDivided!

I have lost a stone (assuming 1lb goes this week) and nobody has noticed but I feel my pjs are fitting better - a very small victory.

TeenDivided · 09/03/2024 11:36

It took about 3-4 stone before anyone commented for me.
tbh I have trouble seeing it myself, but I can see secondary signs like clothes getting too big.

Henowner · 10/03/2024 16:39

Happy Mother's Day to all celebrating 🎉
I'm posting today, I don't have a specific weigh in day but I try and do it once a week.

SW: 77kg
CW: 70.5g
GW: 60kg

So I've lost a stone so far which I'm really pleased about 😊

1clavdivs · 10/03/2024 20:12

This thread has been my inspiration. Started on WW 1st Jan to take advantage of a good discount and feeling determined to finally lose this weight before menopause makes it even harder. What's keeping me going is all you lot sharing the unexpected benefits. I, too, long to cut my toenails again one day.

I won't make 2 stone by Easter but I did reach a personal goal so I'm well happy. Just swapped my size 18 jeans for size 16 this week too. Onwards and downwards!

Morning all this weigh day Monday
It's a stay the same for me this week - holding at 14st 5lbs.
I'm not at all surprised given that I weighed in two days late last week due to being on holiday and it was my birthday on Friday and of course Mother's Day yesterday. With two family meals out on Friday and Saturday along with the big roast beef dinner yesterday with the best will in the world I couldn't really have expected a loss.
Hope everyone's O.K. and that @RedDoughnut you're still strolling alongside us. We're going to need a new thread before the new Easter one I think as this one's nearly full!

Spaceracers · 11/03/2024 08:15

I have reached a stone off now!

SW: 12st 4
CW: 11st 3.5
TW: 8st 9 - 9st

I lost a llb and a half approximately this week. I am going to start regularly exercising now although might struggle to find the time this week as DH is away with work so will have work and DC to factor in!

Really delighted to see this milestone. I won't reach 2stone by Easter but would like to see a 10st on the scales by Easter Monday which seems achievable... unless I give into all the Easter eggs and hot cross buns!

ToddlerMumma · 11/03/2024 08:55

Static this week but have had a number of lovely meals and haven't exercised as much as I'd have liked

SW - 200lbs
CW - 191lbs
TW - 139lbs

I will persevere and carry on! Still hoping for a full stone off by Easter so I need to pick it up in the next 2.5 weeks!

GiantPigeon · 11/03/2024 09:33

01/01: Unknown/Faulty scales
08/01: 13st 4.29lbs
15/01: 12st 13.9lbs
22/01: 13st 0.98lbs
29/01: 12st 13.6lbs
05/02: 12st 13.8lbs
12/02: 12st 13.1lbs
18/02: 12st 13.4lbs
26/02: 12st 12.7lbs
04/03: 12st 11.2lbs
11/03: 12st 13.4lbs

Putting my weight here to "show up" as such.

Had just over 2lb weight gain from my weigh in last week, I've just started my period today so hoping that has something to do with it.

We had a tough week last week and when that happens we end up using convenience food more than normal. Bit of a blur but I think we had 2 pizza dinners and a couple McDonalds thrown in, I can't actually remember now! Plus some soul soothing cups of tea with a cake or biscuit to take the edge off trying times!

I'm still here and that's an achievement in itself.

Best of luck everyone.

Apprenante · 11/03/2024 13:38

Starting weight 14st 6.5lb
Current weight 12st 13lb
Loss 0.5lb this week
Total loss 21.5lbs

Not a brilliant loss but at least I'm still on a very slight downwards trajectory.

There is no way I'll have lost 2 stone by Easter. Confused Can we possibly change the date a bit? Greek orthodox Easter is at the beginning of May this year .... then I'd be in with a chance of success.

needtoshrink · 11/03/2024 13:49

SW 15 stone
CW 14 stone 1lb
TW 13 stone

Weight loss very much slowed but still going down. Feel tantalisingly close to being under 14 for the first time in a long time which is quite motivating. Not going to get to 13 by Easter but if I can at least be solidly in the 13s by then it will feel like progress. With a lot to lose the mini goals feel important- a succession of short sprints to add up to the ultimate marathon!

suneetime · 11/03/2024 14:19

I’ve stayed the same this week. Despite being 1lb down when I did a cheeky additional weigh in last Thursday. Going to stick with my Monday weights though and fingers crossed it’s just due to a couple of excesses over the weekend. I’ll certainly be on the new thread. My weight loss is sloooow!

Fluffygoon · 11/03/2024 16:52

Hello losers 😃
I’ve lost a stone 11 st 6 lbs. Slow but steady, want to get to 10 stone.
I read everyone’s posts and you’re keeping me focused - thank you x

WinterStar1 · 11/03/2024 19:41

0.7kg loss for me this week. Still hoping for that 2 stone loss for Easter.

Current Loss: 0.7 kg
Total Loss: 11.5 kg
Target Loss: 12.7 kg

wallpapercurious · 12/03/2024 08:18

Another 0.6kg loss this week, taking total loss to just under 4kg. I've had an awful week diet wise and completely given up the last couple of days, so I'm pleased to have lost anything at all, but I don't think I'm going to manage the extra 4kg by Easter! Progress is progress though, regardless of how slow...

SW: 82.9kg
CW: 79kg
Easter goal: 75kg
Revised Easter goal: 77kg (even this is a bit ambitious!)

RedDoughnut · 12/03/2024 10:56

Morning all

I over did it while watching the Oscars. I booked the day off work and made a day of it.
It was lovely but I feel very bloated now.
I much prefer being ( a bit ) thinner. I'm sad a regained some of the weight after Xmas.
I feel more unwieldy when I'm fatter which I hadn't noticed until I lost the weight.

We have just over 2 weeks to go!
And we will need another thread.

What is on your menu today?

I had porridge and a banana for breakfast

No idea about lunch.

Omlette planned for dinner

I put on a pound which I'm really pissed off about. I had one meal out for my birthday and it ends up in a gain (I'm not even drinking).

chalkyc2 · 12/03/2024 12:40

@kirinm Oh me too apart from I see your pound and raise it to a kilo.

Pretty scary how hard it is even to maintain never mind lose!
