2 Stones Off By Easter- a thread for those with lots to lose in 2024.

RedDoughnut · 30/12/2023 20:42

The 2 Stones off by Christmas thread was pretty successful.
Hopefully this one will be just as useful.
The idea is that losing 2 stones is just the start. If you have a lot to lose then it can seem daunting so... small targets.

That said, to get 2 stones off by Easter then we need to lose a bit over
2 lbs per week so a bit of dedication is needed.
Start Date- January 1st but join when you can.

Weigh In Day - usually Monday but it's up to you.

For those that are coming from the original thread I think for the new thread we need to add an extra element. Self care! Anything you can add to help you feel a bit better. Skin care? Body Lotion? Flossing your teeth?
Just a little something in addition to watching what you eat.

I've disappeared off my own thread.

We had a death in the family. Comfort eating again.

I'll catch up on all the news now.

So sorry to hear your news. Take care.

falgelednl · 19/02/2024 23:22

Well done to everyone who is keeping going.
sorry to hear that some people have had tough times.

I think I am still moving (slowly) in the right direction.

SW 88.9kg
CW 83.2kg

Total loss 5.7kg (about 12.5lb)
I weigh throughout the week and I have gone down to 82.8kg and then back up. It has been half-term though and, as a teacher, I’ve had a bit more time on my hands this week which means more snacking!!

Hopefully this week will be better (although this evening hasn’t been as I’ve been cold so hungry!)

CurlsnSunshinetime4tea · 20/02/2024 00:52

sorry to hear @RedDoughnut
take your time, heal at your own pace.

So sorry to read this, i hope you’re doing ok, look after yourself. I did a 6 week shred straight after my mother passed, ended up making myself very unwell. Go easy on yourself.
Am comfort too at the moment, counting calories but not overly strict with myself really, trying to balance it out with exercise

Theresit · 20/02/2024 12:45

Hope you’re ok OP.

No loss again this week but I haven’t gained so I’m happy given what I’ve been eating….

cooroocoocoo · 20/02/2024 13:50

Sympathies OP. Hope you and family are okay.

Floppy12 · 20/02/2024 14:57

Sorry to hear about your bereavement.

STS again for me this week.
Have continued with walking pretty much daily now.Too soon to say if its helping my painful hip yet but its making me feel much better in myself.

Good luck everyone with the week ahead.

Walkingbkwrm · 20/02/2024 15:36

Sorry to hear your news @RedDoughnut . Lots of people seem to be struggling this week (including me). Fingers crossed we can all stick with it and get back on track. 🤞

Seaitoverthere · 20/02/2024 16:29

I’m so sorry to hear that @RedDoughnut 🌷

I’m struggling this week. Sticking to my calories but quality isn’t great.

imustbepatient · 20/02/2024 16:54

@RedDoughnut I'm so sorry to hear that. Sending strength to you and your family in this awful time.

I've been away on holiday last week, which was interesting from a dieting perspective. I went with the attitude of trying to make some good choices but not getting too caught up and just enjoying the food I did have, and the family time.

On the whole I feel like it went fairly well. Probably still indulged a bit too much on the food and alcohol, but certainly less than if I hadn't joined this thread and been eating well beforehand.

I haven't braved the scales yet, and have another weekend away with friends coming up (honestly it sounds like I have such an active social life / holiday schedule, but it has just worked out I have two events in quick succession then nothing on for ages!).

My plan is to weigh tomorrow and each day till I go away, and just try to be more mindful again over the weekend.

I was getting a bit despondent before last week's holiday as the scales were not playing nice at all. So my main aim is not to give up and just keep going. If I keep to my calories and eat healthy food the majority of the time, I will eventually get this sodding weight off!

Well done to all who have had such inspiring losses and kudos and solidarity to those are still plugging away. We'll all make it to our finish lines in the end.

SnowflakeSparkles · 20/02/2024 17:16

Very late but can I join again?

I joined the Christmas thread and it was such a strong motivator for me, especially as I usually write off the entirety of A/W in terms of weight loss!!

I fell off of the thread, but did end up losing close to 2 stone and only putting on a few lbs during my off the wagon time.

It's basically unprecedented for me to get back on the wagon before an almost complete regain (plus some extra too, usually).

I'd love to join and my goal will be 1 stone as I'm only just starting 😇

SnowflakeSparkles · 20/02/2024 17:19

So sorry @RedDoughnut ; that's such sad news Sad

LolaJ87 · 21/02/2024 11:34

Down another kilo this week. That's 3kg in the 4 weeks since I've joined this thread. It's unlikely I'll hit that 10kg target I set for easter but progress is progress and I am eating well which is great.

Sleeplessinseattle234 · 21/02/2024 13:04

Have not been here the last few weeks. Ben on a plateau really since Xmas. Nothing I did seemed to have worked. I even stopped weighing myself as it has been too depressing to see the same number.

but this week I seem to be catching up on what I have missed. So…

starting weight in August was -13.1
current weight is 10.4! So close to seeing a nine.

and weight ( still deciding really but ) 8.1/2 stone.
ploughing on to the nines! I appear to now be moving again. Fingers crossed.

Fluffygoon · 21/02/2024 17:29

@Sleeplessinseattle234
Amazing 👏wonder what pushed you off that plateau? I’m on one at the moment! and it’s a bit depressing …..

Apprenante · 21/02/2024 20:51

@Sleeplessinseattle234 that is brilliant!!! Having lost so much (and I guess being near to a properly healthy weight) slowing down a bit is probably inevitable. Obviously losing a bit more is wonderful but so long as you don't go up you should be so pleased with yourself. StarStarStar

WinterStar1 · 21/02/2024 21:04

So sorry to read your sad news @RedDoughnut. Take care of yourself 💐

Hank86 · 21/02/2024 23:00

Sorry to hear your sad news OP. Sending thoughts x

KinderToMyFutureSelf · 22/02/2024 06:20

Hello everyone, a pound off for me this week.

CW 15:6
SW 16:7
GW 13

needtoshrink · 22/02/2024 07:23

SW 15
CW 14 3lb
TW 13

Been off for a couple of weeks but weighed in and was pleased to have lost again after a bit of a plateau. New diet enthusiasm well and truly gone and slow acceptance that this is a marathon not a sprint is building! I'm loosely calorie counting, not drinking much and generally trying to make good choices. Most effective things are simplest (no snacks or booze in the house!). Feeling a bit more motivated by the thought that 3lb more will be a stone off and 4 will see me in the 13s for the first time in a long time. Onwards and downwards!

bfsham · 22/02/2024 16:07

SW 2/1/24-16 stones

CW 22/2/24-15 stones 6.5 pounds BMI now 29.3

EW-14 stones

Lost a further pound this week. C25 K week 5 now, also started on 2/1/24.
Total of 7.5 lbs lost since 2/1/2024-very slow 😥 I feel like I could regain it all just eating 2 big dinners.
💐for OP.

Henowner · 23/02/2024 13:45

So sorry to hear your sad news Red Doughnut 💐

GiantPigeon · 23/02/2024 16:35

A bit late making my post, I track weight on an app on my phone but not had a moment to myself all week, been so busy I've been falling asleep before 9pm most nights!

01/01: Unknown/Faulty scales
08/01: 13st 4.29lbs
15/01: 12st 13.9lbs
22/01: 13st 0.98lbs
29/01: 12st 13.6lbs
05/02: 12st 13.8lbs
12/02: 12st 13.1lbs
18/02: 12st 13.4lbs

Not much progress to report but want to "show up" on here as such.

I know I wont make any big losses by Easter but I'm doing well reporting back here and that's a start for me this year considering how much I've juggled in my personal life so far in 2024.

Best of luck everyone.
