2 Stones Off By Easter- a thread for those with lots to lose in 2024.

RedDoughnut · 30/12/2023 20:42

The 2 Stones off by Christmas thread was pretty successful.
Hopefully this one will be just as useful.
The idea is that losing 2 stones is just the start. If you have a lot to lose then it can seem daunting so... small targets.

That said, to get 2 stones off by Easter then we need to lose a bit over
2 lbs per week so a bit of dedication is needed.
Start Date- January 1st but join when you can.

Weigh In Day - usually Monday but it's up to you.

For those that are coming from the original thread I think for the new thread we need to add an extra element. Self care! Anything you can add to help you feel a bit better. Skin care? Body Lotion? Flossing your teeth?
Just a little something in addition to watching what you eat.

Wow, some great progress - well done!

SW: 12st 4 on 14 Jan
CW: 11st 5
TW: 8st 10 (I am short)

I lost 3lbs this week which I am dead chuffed with. For the last 3 weeks or so I've been hovering around 11st 8 / 11 st 9, so just goes to show that sometimes takes a while for the scales to catch up.

I wont make 2 stone but I'd love to get under 11st by Easter. I also said I would start exercising after losing the first stone (didn't want to take on too much!) so need to start thinking about that!

kirinm · 04/03/2024 12:15

@WhatIsThisCough when do you eat? Did it take you a while to not feel hungry?

suneetime · 04/03/2024 12:42

2lbs off for me this week. Chuffed with that as I’ve been hopeless all through Feb but am aiming to have lost a stone in total by Easter. 6lbs to go so hoping I can keep on track.

GiantPigeon · 04/03/2024 16:28

01/01: Unknown/Faulty scales
08/01: 13st 4.29lbs
15/01: 12st 13.9lbs
22/01: 13st 0.98lbs
29/01: 12st 13.6lbs
05/02: 12st 13.8lbs
12/02: 12st 13.1lbs
18/02: 12st 13.4lbs
26/02: 12st 12.7lbs
04/03: 12st 11.2lbs

Putting my weight here to "show up" as such, I'm still chipping away towards weight loss goal, wont have lost the two stones by Easter but at least I'm still here on this thread!

Just over 7lbs loss in total since January, slow but something.

Best of luck everyone.

I cant seem to get back to the right frame of mind.
I'm going to head back to where I was in the summer of I don't find my willpower again.

5 weeks to go. I could lose a stone in that time as I'm bound to lose more in the first week.

Keep going @RedDoughnut , these threads you've made have been so motivating for people, I hope you can see that and use some of it for yourself Smile

I'm currently reading The Kindness Method, whose author lost a lot of weight herself and works in addiction recovery. The first step in the book is to write a letter to yourself, to remind yourself in hard time how much you want to reach your goals. You can do this!

@WhatIsThisCough when do you eat? Did it take you a while to not feel hungry?

I eat in the evening, around 6-6:30 when my partner’s home. I’m just very determined when I make my mind up about something so to be honest, just did it, and I honestly don’t remember feeling hungry at all. Even now I could take or leave my evening meal, which is a weird thing to say I know. At the beginning I just knew I was doing it come what may if that makes sense but now I find it really very easy. It’s not for everyone I know, but when I used to have a salad for lunch for example, I was absolutely ravenous when I came home at 4ish but genuinely not now at all. I’m not sure it it’s mindset or an actual difference because I’m not eating so I don’t need to eat if that makes sense.

Apprenante · 04/03/2024 08:39

Starting weight 14st 6.5lbs
Current weight 12st 13.5lbs
Loss so far 21lbs
Loss this week 2.5lbs

I am ridiculously pleased to see 12 stone something on the scales - even if it is very nearly still 13 stone. My BMI is 33 so nothing to celebrate really.

Well done @WhatIsThisCough . You must be so pleased. Have you reduced your Hb1ac level much? I'm pre diabetic and it's a great incentive to lose weight but I can't imagine coping on OMAD. I take my hat off to you.🌟🌟🌟

Thank you! I only had my blood test which finally diagnosed me at the end of Jan so won’t know about my latest HBA1C u til mid April. I’m hoping to see a difference though! 🤞 I know it’s not for everyone. I’m very ‘all or nothing’ though so it’s working for me for now. I must get this weight off for my health now and at the moment that’s keeping me going.

Sleeplessinseattle234 · 05/03/2024 09:52

Had a wonderful week in terms of weight loss. And was really happy when I stood on the scales today! I tend to struggle to loose weight and then have massive wooshes.

so here goes.
starting weight - 13.1 in August 2023
current weight - 10.1!!! Lost a good few pounds in two weeks.
goal weight is about 9 stone or 8.7. Depends on how I feel at 9.

I am now officially at a healthy weight. My bmi is good!!!!! Nearly at the 9’s

LolaJ87 · 05/03/2024 20:42

Another kilo down this week. That makes 5kg so far. I had set a goal of 10kg by Easter which was very ambitious and while it’s unlikely I’ll make that, I’m really proud of myself.

I was dreading weighing myself this week as I had takeaway on Friday and am due my period but the rest of my hard work pulled through!

wallpapercurious · 05/03/2024 21:35

0.5kg lost this week. I was hoping for more (again). It's going in the right direction but just really slowly! Tonight I went out for Thai food and overdid it a bit, not a great start to the week, but tomorrow is another day. Well done to everyone for sticking at it!

SW (26 Jan): 82.9kg
CW: 79.4kg
Easter goal: 75kg

TeenDivided · 06/03/2024 07:39

13lb lost since 9th Jan.
A total of 4st 4lb lost since start August 2023.
Initial target of 4st loss met.

Next target a further 2 stone so I'm already 4lb into that Smile.
If I can get there I would be down into 'overweight' on BMI.

recklessgran · 06/03/2024 08:43

Morning All.
Weighing in 2 days late but delighted to report that after a week's AI in Gran Canaria I have actually managed to stay the same! I am beyond delighted by this but slightly mystified given that I've probably eaten double my usual amount and also drank quite a lot of alcohol. I did however stick to my rules [low carb - no bread, pasta, desserts etc]
Start weight 15st 1lb
Today 14st 5lbs
Back on it today. I'm so determined to keep going despite the painfully slow progress. I'd love to get 4 pounds of by Easter - that will make a very hard one stone but the key is to keep trying and not give up yes?

Apprenante · 06/03/2024 11:00

@TeenDivided how wonderful to have overweight within sight! Well done on your determination, I know just how hard it is to keep on keeping on. StarStarStar

Apprenante · 06/03/2024 11:03

@recklessgran that is a result! I could quite easily avoid the alcohol but bread and pasta ....
StarStarStar to you

Thank you. I have 17lb to go to get down to just 'overweight'.
That would be precisely 5.5 stone down from where I started.

RedDoughnut · 06/03/2024 12:23

It's been a wobbly week for me more off the diet than on but I'm determined to be one stone down by Easter as two will be impossible for me.

One thing I can say since I gained back some of the weight back I lost before Xmas is that I can feel the difference. It's made me more miserable this time than in my history of being fat.

Those of us who have been in this thread or the last one may remember I suggested adding a bit of self care
Simple things we can neglect, hand cream, flossing teeth etc

I've been trying!

LolaJ87 · 06/03/2024 12:31

@RedDoughnut I'm going to be in this for the long-haul with you, so will many of the others on this thread! Thanks for setting it up. It has been so helpful to check in here (even though I joined late). I've been better about my skincare routine too.

Even though we won't be hitting our exact goals this time, we still kept going and are still here and still working hard for ourselves.

What will our next thread be? We'll need another milestone date to aim for!

RedDoughnut · 06/03/2024 16:15

@LolaJ87

My intention at the moment is to go from Easter to the start of the school holidays. I know Scotland tend to break up earlier than England and Wales. Not too sure on NI. ( sorry to anyone from there)
So if we can work on an average date?
Should be about 16 weeks so another 2 stones should be possible

2 Stones for the start of summer?

OP posts:
LolaJ87 · 06/03/2024 17:14

@RedDoughnut I’m in Ireland and it’s earlier again here! You could always pick 14 weeks from Easter? That gives people a nice number to pick a goal. 2lb a week is 2 stone, 1lb a week is a stone, .5lb a week is a half stone etc.

I've not been posting regularly on this thread, but this really resonates with me and I feel exactly the same.

I've never before in my history of yo-yo dieting got back on the wagon after only a few lbs of regain.

I've started The Last Diet and am finding it really helpful. I've not been properly back on track until recently, and am focusing more on behaviour tracking than weight tracking.

I've got a lovely journal and I have about 6 months worth of pages in it. My goal is to track my behaviours (delaying eating for my IF window, drinking 1 litre of water before beginning eating, and now walking) every single day until the journal is full. It's amazing how it has shifted my focus off of the scale.

WinterStar1 · 06/03/2024 18:37

Another loss this week, steadily coming down which I'm happy about. Not many weeks left to go so keeping my fingers crossed on that 2 stone for Easter.

Current Loss: 0.6 kg
Total Loss: 10.8 kg
Target Loss: 12.7 kg

recklessgran · 06/03/2024 18:51

@RedDoughnut don't worry, along with @LolaJ87 I'm going to be here with you all year - I'm also in it for the long haul. I'm hoping to lose 4lbs by Easter to make a very hard won stone but not holding my breath. It's a goal anyway!

ShakespeareInTurmoil · 06/03/2024 22:46

Delighted I found this thread!

I was a horrendous 14st 9lbs on 1st Jan.

Was 13st 10lbs on 1st February.

Was 1st March I was 13st 1lb.

I have a way to go as I’d like to be 10st by August but thus far pleased with my progress! I am doing a LOT of exercise but it’s good to see it paying it off.

I'll be here for a long while yet

My self care has been sorting out my teeth. I am shocked at how much dentists costs and wish I hadn't left it so long!
