Hi,

Just got back from holiday and thread was full. Couldn't see a new one 😞 let me know if there is one. Hope everyone is doing well.

Taken my first Mounjaro jab this morning and it was fine! I watched a good few videos on how to do it but it really was ok.
It feels like the first few weeks of Rybelsus so far, I have complete appetite suppression.
I got mine from Rightangled, and 2.5mg on their subscription service was £135, so I actually got a partial refund from them as they had already taken payment for the Rybelsus that they couldn't send!

Londonlady365 · 04/05/2024 17:11

Mine came today but decided to do it tomorrow so I don't have any immediate side effects over night

BangingOn · 04/05/2024 17:53

@SilkySuky I am so pleased you found it ok, I think the thought is definitely worse than the reality.

I am a tiny bit hungrier today, nothing massive and still less of an appetite than I had with Rybelsus by the end, but I think I will move up to 5mg.

I have spent a very productive day listing most of my wardrobe on Vinted as nothing fits anymore.

SilkySuky · 04/05/2024 21:11

I've just packed off a skirt I sold on vinted that I bought before Christmas and haven't had a chance to wear, and is now too big!

I'm the smallest I have been in 19 years, if not longer and there are some things that are taking some adjustment.

One example is I had a big bust, and found strapless bras and therefore clothes impossible due to the sheer weight of the girls dragging down clothing and making underwire very painful.

Now I am much smaller, the weight is more manageable, and I can wear strapless, or spaghetti straps much more easily, with no discomfort. I know it's only a little thing, but to me it's nothing short of amazing.

BangingOn · 04/05/2024 21:21

@SilkySuky thats fantastic, well done! You can have a lovely time choosing new summer clothes this year (assuming summer actually arrives!).

QueenOfHiraeth · 04/05/2024 23:48

@BangingOn Wow! What a weightloss! Well done
I have only started recently. I've taken it for about 5 weeks and have lost around half a stone which I'm pleased with as I felt no effects at all from the 3mg

Londonlady365 · 05/05/2024 11:06

@SilkySuky enjoy wearing the strappy tops it's a great feeling isn't it. I have just done my first injection. I don't mind the injection. But for me it seems so easy to get it wrong and waste a lot of money. Swallowing a pill is easy. My pen didn't feel very cold. It was delivered at 4pm on a sunny day. So that's another risk tablets don't have.

Londonlady365 · 05/05/2024 11:08

@Doggymummar How are you getting on?

BangingOn · 05/05/2024 18:52

@QueenOfHiraeth thank you! Well done on your loss too, that’s a great start. Are you finding the side effects ok?

QueenOfHiraeth · 05/05/2024 20:23

@BangingOn I've been fine on Rybelsus, just a bit of heartburn when taking it and a couple of vague episodes of nausea.
Not started Mounjaro yet, it will take a bit longer to come due to long weekend

BangingOn · 05/05/2024 20:35

@QueenOfHiraeth that’s great, hopefully you won’t get any new side effects on the injection.

QueenOfHiraeth · 05/05/2024 20:54

BangingOn · 05/05/2024 20:35

@QueenOfHiraeth that’s great, hopefully you won’t get any new side effects on the injection.

I confess I'm a bit worried about it, having read people talking about vomiting and diarrhoea on the other thread. Fingers crossed though

BangingOn · 05/05/2024 21:54

Rightangled said to me that it’s unusual to have symptoms on Mounjaro that you haven’t had on Rybelsus, so hopefully you will be fine.

Londonlady365 · 06/05/2024 11:32

24 hours after my first injection with 5mg. No side effects and slightly less appetite. The fridge thing is too restrictive for me so I will be using as a short boost before going back to maintain on rybelsus

Cjgdjkf · 07/05/2024 08:36

Guys well done! Everyone seems to be nailing the weight loss!

@RedRum27 I kinda of took it with a pinch of salt, these keyboard warriors definitely have no idea what it’s like to be overweight having tried everything and every diet! I get that we all don’t know the long term risks but as adults I’m
sure we can make decisions for ourselves:)

So I had a weird experience today, I’ve been happily on 7mg and a half but yesterday I had really bad like reflux which I haven’t had since last year when I started 3mg and then today it happened this morning about an hour after I took tablet and I was sick! I’m not sure what’s going on….

Funnyhat · 07/05/2024 12:45

I bit the bullet and ordered the mounjaro, waiting for approval, excited but quite nervous!

People really have no idea, being obese carries so many health risks, and in my family particularly we lose our knees. My mum and my grandma had to have full knee replacements for both knees when they were in their early 50's because of the constant weight over the years.

So I would rather take this medication to build a healthier relationship with food without having the mad food cravings and noise in my head.

QueenOfHiraeth · 07/05/2024 22:43

Anyone who has switched to Mounjaro - help!
Did you just start injection the day after your last Rybelsus or did you leave a gap? Info I have seen online says start straight away but I have been told today to leave a 3-day gap between them to reduce side-effect ris.
Anyone know any more please?

Londonlady365 · 08/05/2024 06:07

@QueenOfHiraeth I was told 10 day but given I was only taking a 14mg every 3 days I did it after 4 days. I think you should be OK with a shorter gap if you didn't have side effects.

Funnyhat · 10/05/2024 13:05

How are the ladies that have switched over to MJ doing? Is the weightloss/appetite suppression better? Any new side effects?

Mine came today, I think I'm going to inject on Monday or Tuesday because weekends are usually very hectic.

JaffacakeJanine · 10/05/2024 22:54

I'm waiting another month before I start Mounjaro because don't want any side effects during an event I've been looking forward to for a while! 🤞 Can't wait to start so I don't have to wake up and immediately take a pill! Really interesting to see how everybody is getting along with it. I'll also stay in this thread because everybody here is wonderful ❤️

Londonlady365 · 11/05/2024 06:10

@Funnyhat MJ is fine. Injecting is easy after the first one. It's a tiny needle that you won't feel. No side effects at all for me on 5mg. I think I have felt mild appetite suppression but it's worn off after a few days. Because of visiting family ( and who is going to put their pens in their mother fridge) I did my second dose 3 days early. Felt some suppression for a few days but worn off by day 3. I am thinking of topping up with rybelsus until I get 7.5mg.

Funnyhat · 12/05/2024 18:33

Are you guys injecting in the evening or morning?

Londonlady365 · 13/05/2024 05:25

After exercise and breakfast so about 10am but I don't think it matters

Doggymummar · 13/05/2024 08:22

Morning all,

I have been offline as I had some really bad trolling around Christmas so logged off until today. Not doing so well, couldn't afford tablets for a few months and gained a stone, started with mysimba which is useless, I swear it made me twice as hungry. I gained another stone so I am now at 220 lbs which is disappointing. I tried to reorder Rybselsus but everyone is offering Mounjaro and I am not up for injections, urgh no thank you. Numan offered me 3mg Rybelsus but I don't want to go that low, so have asked my pharmacy for 7mg, just waiting on approval. So hopefully I can start to lose again. I am still 30lb less than this time last year, but the weight really piles back on if you take a break, I think for me it is going to have to be for life.

I will catch up on your journeys gradually, glad to see some of you are still going.

@Doggymummar sorry to hear all of that. Hopefully things are better now. Prices might drop soon as rival meds enter the market. MJ does seem to be more effective but less controllable.
