Hi,

Just got back from holiday and thread was full. Couldn't see a new one 😞 let me know if there is one. Hope everyone is doing well.

I have just done my 5th MJ 7.5 so thought I would update my results. I lost 8lbs in 4 weeks on 5mg so was hopeful 7mg would shift the last 4lbs but it hasn't. I have definitely noticed suppression on 7.5. I have the aversion to food others talk about that I didn't really get with R. However have also felt a bit rough and not up to exercising. I think that cancelled out the suppression and only 1lb lost in 4 weeks. Not sure if I want to try another month on MJ or just use up the last of R to maintain and up the exercise. MJ has got me a lot closer to my goal than R so I would recommend for anyone stuck.
My thoughts on R vs MJ. R is much more convenient if you can adapt to the empty stomach thing. The non fridge means being in for delivery and avoiding hot days is less of an issue. I had a MJ delivery at the end of a hot day and it arrived a bit warm. Hiding it is easier but for me the biggest advantage is the ability to alter dose. Buy 14mg but take less frequently. Can't do that with MJ so maintaining on lower dose will be expensive. MJ is cheaper and more effective and available in much higher doses so tolerance is less of an issue. For me the second ingredient made it more effective.

Hi all, I'm just back from two weeks in Greece and I LOST weight, first time ever. Full month back in 14mg I lost five pound. Not much, but in April I gained 14lb on 3 mg so I'm happy to see the scales going down. Right angled tried to tell me that the NHS have said R can no longer be prescribed to non diabetics and they were moving me to Mounjaro! I asked them for proof and they had none. Turns out I hadn't even ordered from them in a year, just some dodgy marketing campaign. So I am trying to get this month supply from Chequp but they are being a pain, hopefully will be sorted today. Keep going lovely ladies, every pound off is a victory.

@Doggymummar I have found Chequp brilliant. They are very "by the book" but that was one reason I picked them, some companies make me a bit uncomfortable the way they prescribe easily.
Chequp also offer Zoom appointments with nutrition/health coaches should you want it. I've found them good

Doggymummar · 04/07/2024 16:45

Brilliant, it arrived today and still a lot cheaper than I have seen elsewhere. I am seeing a new doctor next week and going to ask them to prescribe, by old doctor wouldn't. It would be such a saving if they would.n

Glad to hear some of you are still able to get hold of Rybelsus!

I'm much preferring MJ now I'm on it, it's really nice not having to take the pills every morning. I'd say the effects on MJ are 'softer' for me compared to Rybelsus - there is definite hunger suppression but it's subtler (ie. My partner has been buying pastries and stuff and I've had zero interest at all snacking on them, or missing a meal and not even noticing) whereas Rybelsus gave me more nausea, especially first thing in the morning if i hadn't eaten soon enough.

Also been taking lactulose every few days andddd it's such a relief hahaha

I've only just moved up to 5mg so no weight loss yet, finding it difficult to measure loss generally as I'm also lifting weights, so the muscle building might somewhat be cancelling out weight loss from fat. Definitely seeing reduced width around my waist though, measured by trousers no longer staying up!

Feeling pretty positive, hope all you ladies are feeling good!

QueenOfHiraeth · 05/07/2024 13:23

@JaffacakeJanine I'm glad you've said about softer effects as I have not had much suppression at all on MJ which I did on Rybelsus. Hoping I may just need a slightly higher dose but you have given me a bit of reassurance

JaffacakeJanine · 07/07/2024 07:46

@QueenOfHiraeth maybe it's also our bodies having gotten used to Rybelsus will mean a higher dose is needed for larger suppression? Will be interesting to see as I move up to the equivalent dose to the Rybelsus I was on!

Doggymummar · 08/07/2024 08:43

Glad you're all happy on the injections, I just can't imagine doing that voluntary! I guess I might have to if supplies get tight but for now I'll stick to the tablets. Another 2lb off this week, almost back to Januarys weight. Annoying to have wasted a few months, but I just couldn't afford it.

QueenOfHiraeth · 08/07/2024 17:30

@Doggymummar Well done, sounds like you are doing brilliantly.
I only switched because I was starting to suffer regular and worsening indigestion/reflux and did not want to be medicating regularly for it. I did find the take it then wait half an hour every morning a pain but it wasn't insurmountable.
I have to say I am on week 10 of injections and am only now getting back some of the effects of Rybelsus, it's been a costly switch and I'm glad I had some of the tablet effects in my system to cushion that gap!

Doggymummar · 09/07/2024 17:58

I like the half hour wait, I tell my other half it's my quiet time and not to disturb me!! I don't eat till dinner usually anyway so it's not a problem thankfully. I really hope the doctor I see on Thursday will prescribe it for me as £169 a month to spend on something else or save would be magnificent. It's a private GP so £21 a script but still so much better.

Hi everyone. Been a busy few months so not posted here for a while. Great to read the recent success stories keep it up.

Agree that willpower is still needed even with the tablet. I’m 2 stone down but this month have fluctuated massively so back to where I was end of May so need to really focus now. Doctor is happy with the progress though.

I hit 200lbs a few weeks ago but have gained since (pulled my back and couldn’t exercise for 3 weeks - typical!) so I know I can do it, just have to keep going.

As a NSV though I have had a few people ask recently if I have lost weight, face looks slimmer etc. Whilst commenting on one’s weight is another story I won’t say it wasn’t nice to have people finally notice even if I still can’t! Also my wedding dress arrived and it needs taking in which was a lovely surprise as I still have a while to go and I was happy with the fit when I first tried it. So it’s the small wins for sure. But the wedding isn’t my main motivation for losing weight, it’s just an extra bonus. I just couldn’t continue life the way it was going and never want to go back to that.

Anyway, super long update from me but enjoy this thread as it keeps me accountable. Hope all is well with you all.

Doggymummar · 26/07/2024 08:33

Good to see you back. It's hard and it has it's ups and downs. I lost six months work when I couldn't afford the tablets 😭. I was 189 pre COVID which is still overweight but is my first goal, I think that will be about 5 stone lost. I was 202 on Tuesday, but had a massive plate of mash on Wednesday night and am 208 now, honestly I can eat barely nothing without weight gain.

Next week I am going to try upping fruit and veg as Dr says I have some deficiencies so I will probably gain more again, but she says I have to trust it will stabilise - not sure I do though. I do need to break the bread habit though and replace it with something healthier so I will try to obey.

I agree it definitely is not a magic wand contrary to popular belief! It’s hard isn’t it, eating something and seeing the impact on the scales straight away.

I’m not feeling the appetite suppression at all with this new pack. So hoping after a few days it will settle down. I’ve gone up again and know it can fluctuate but this is a big fluctuation.l am eating more for some reason. Woke up starving this morning and never normally do.

Upping fruit and veg should help and your water intake too.

Doggymummar · 27/07/2024 08:51

Yep, I was really successful last year combined it with fast 800 but I got slack. I've done my food order so next week it's back on it.b

Be careful with Rybelsus. There are lawsuits filed against it because it can possibly cause gastroparesis, blood clots, and vision loss. I'd be more careful with it.

@Funnyhat have you been getting on better with MJ. I definitely prefer it. Got down to goal easily.

Funnyhat · 04/09/2024 21:45

@Londonlady365 honestly so so much better, I kind of wish I switched earlier. How are you getting on ?

Londonlady365 · 05/09/2024 05:45

@Funnyhat same. Its so much better and reportedly has loads of other health benefits. I lost the last 14lbs easily. I don't feel any different whereas on Ry I did feel slightly hungover all the time. I am maintaining by dialing 1/2 dose of 15mg but not sure my prescriber will allow me to order every 2 months and can't stockpile these as short shelf life. Trying to convince my partner to try it too.

Doggymummar · 06/09/2024 17:43

I'm moving over to Mounjaro next week as Ry is no longer working for me. Hope to some of you on a board over there. I've enjoyed the last year and more keeping us going. Seems like the jabs are now more popular. Anyone remember the great Rybelsus shortage of 2023. Good luck to you all and hope you all reach goal and have happy happy lives,
