Hi,

Just got back from holiday and thread was full. Couldn't see a new one 😞 let me know if there is one. Hope everyone is doing well.

I'm having a bit of a wobble (mental not physical!)

I asked for Rybelsus as I am always very nervous about side-effects and reasoned it's easier to stop a daily tablet than a weekly injection but I am now debating whether to ask to switch over

Londonlady365 · 29/04/2024 11:29

@QueenOfHiraeth me too. I decided to maintain at the plateau as I wasn't far off my target and below pre pandemic so that seemed good enough. But would a month on this get me to target and then use tablets again to maintain.

Londonlady365 · 29/04/2024 11:30

@BangingOn any update?

BangingOn · 29/04/2024 11:43

@Londonlady365 all good so far. I used the injection Friday afternoon and no side effects yet. My appetite feels smaller and I have lost 2lbs since Friday, although my weight fluctuates a lot with hormones and water so I can say it’s definitely due to the injection.

I am really happy so far though- morning cup of tea as soon as I wake, no new side effects and renewed appetite suppression.

Londonlady365 · 29/04/2024 12:15

Thanks. I am tempted to try for a month.

Londonlady365 · 29/04/2024 13:56

Just watched a promo video and said can be stored at room temp for 21days. That makes life a bit easier.

BangingOn · 29/04/2024 16:08

That is much more helpful. I am worried I will forget to take it again Friday so have set reminders on every device just in case.

SilkySuky · 30/04/2024 16:10

Just had confirmation that my 14 mg has been shipped from rightangled, so I've got another month before making the Mounjaro decision it looks like

Cjgdjkf · 30/04/2024 19:20

@RedRum27 thanks, took me 3 days to get through it all 🙈

Dinosaurpoo · 01/05/2024 07:14

My plateau has finally shifted now! And I’ve only got 20 days worth left! Typical!
will have to look for an alternative stockist from rightangled. Where else have people been buying?

Londonlady365 · 01/05/2024 10:08

I have 5mg mounjaro being delivered on Saturday. Let's see if it shifts the last few lbs I had given up on. I didn't ask for 5mg they automatically prescribed with 7.5mg next month if I need it.

Londonlady365 · 01/05/2024 10:10

@Dinosaurpoo ajhill/slimming4you but they are one of the more expensive £250 including all the discounts

SilkySuky · 01/05/2024 16:28

Spoke too soon, just got an email saying they can't deliver Rybelsus. Have had a conversation with the pharmacist and I've got 2.5mg Mounjaro coming tomorrow.

Dinosaurpoo · 01/05/2024 21:53

Thanks @Londonlady365 - that is expensive - I only want another couple of months, so might just go for it rather than try something new

RedRum27 · 02/05/2024 01:48

@Cjgdjkf what did you think?

On another note, I’m interested to know how the injections go compared to Rybelsus. I’m too much of a scaredy cat to inject myself so will stick with tablets.

An update from me as I don’t think I’ve shared details as such and I joined this chat to keep myself accountable. Started mid November 2023. I have had breaks in between due to Christmas, holidays and the odd days forgetting to take it, so worked out I have done 4 packets of Rybelsus. 1 month of 3mg, 2 months of 7mg and just finished 1 month of 14mg.

I’ve gone from 236lbs to 208lbs. That’s approx 7lbs a month/1.75lbs a week if my maths is correct. It feels steady and there are non-scale victories also. Clothes fit better. I actually wore a bodycon for a night out for the first time in years. Exercising/being active more regularly, eating better portions and in moderation.

Still lots of work to do and still feel like a mammoth compared to most people I’m around, but it’s nice putting the ‘work’ in and seeing a change. I don’t miss the slog of doing all the work and nothing would change. Rybelsus has simply enabled that loss consistently and build better eating habits.

210 was target 1. Now onto target 2. Thanks for this thread and being able to talk it through, it helps.

Londonlady365 · 02/05/2024 08:52

@Cjgdjkf that's amazing and sounds like a healthy weight loss that will stay off.

Funnyhat · 03/05/2024 16:00

@Dinosaurpoo I get mine from cheque.com and it's £169

@BangingOn how are you getting on?

BangingOn · 03/05/2024 19:12

@Funnyhat all good thank you, I took my second injection today and it was a breeze. If you’d have told me a month ago that I’d be injecting myself without flinching I wouldn’t have believed you!

The only thing I find strange is that you don’t get the same certainty you do with a tablet. I’m following the instructions and doing everything right, then at the end the dial shows I’ve had the dose but it still seems more abstract than taking a tablet that you can feel has gone inside you. Does that make any sense at all or am I rambling?

Anyway, 2lbs down this week so I’ve broken the plateau. I feel like I should have lost more than that as I’ve eaten so little, but my weight loss sometimes doesn’t show much on the scales and then I suddenly get a whoosh and lose half a stone in a couple of weeks.

Funnyhat · 03/05/2024 19:18

@BangingOn ok that's re-assuring, I've just contacted my supplier for more information on the mounjaro jabs.

I just feel like the actual jab process seems so complicated! Also how are you disposing of the pen/needles. I really don't want my husband finding out.

BangingOn · 03/05/2024 21:11

I have bought a sharps bin from Amazon but I am unclear what happens after that, I need to see if a local pharmacy takes them. The bin is huge and the disposable part is tiny so I will be good for a while.

Londonlady365 · 03/05/2024 21:25

I looked it up on the council website. Sharps collectionsWe will arrange for the fortnightly collection of sharps boxes and will provide you with a replacement box ready for your next collection. To order a sharps or clinical waste collection please contact us..
Although this is going to be difficult to keep a secret.

BangingOn · 03/05/2024 21:32

That’s interesting, we give fairly rurally so it hadn’t occurred to me that anyone would come out and collect needles from a private prescription.

QueenOfHiraeth · 03/05/2024 22:59

I have also caved and ordered Mountjaro. I was finding Rybelsus increasingly hard to swallow and the half an hour after taking the tablet a bit restrictive and nervy as I get a slight warm, heartburn feeling which I don't like.
Had an email earlier that my order was approved and is now just waiting for doctor approval and issue which will, hopefully, be Monday (with the caveat that a full refund will be given if the doctor declines it)

BangingOn · 04/05/2024 09:49

@QueenOfHiraeth good luck, please let me know how you get on.

I know I should technically move to the Mounjaro threads now, but I have been with you here for a year (I think it will be a year tomorrow since I started) and might still switch back to Rybelsus if the supply position improves.

5 stone and 2lbs loss in 12 months.

Funnyhat · 04/05/2024 13:38

Where is everyone getting their mounjaro from and any discount codes? I think I'm going to bite the bullet and order.
