8 Week Accountability

Anyone want to do an 8 week accountability thread? It's 8 weeks today until Christmas and I'm hoping to lose a stone. That's 1.75lbs a week.
I've got 3 stone to lose in total. I'm going to skip breakfast, cut out snacks and up my steps to 10k a day (average currently 5k).

I'm in! Looking to lose around the same. Lost 1 stone start of year but slowly creeping up over the last few weeks

OneStone · 30/10/2023 10:38

Excellent. Rather than start in Jan let's get a head start. Will check in daily with step count.

I'm in! Currently doing the 16:8 fasting, calorie counting plus 10k steps a day. Although the weight is coming off slowly, I really struggle with sweet snacks though!
CW: 11.6 and I'd love to get down to 11stone!
How about you?

Amdone123 · 30/10/2023 10:45

I'm in !

I was thinking this only this morning. 7lbs for me would be great, 10lbs better and a stone super !
I'm back at work now for the next 8 weeks so that will help. Best to have a go and whatever you lose, is better than putting on and feeling rubbish at Xmas.
I weighed this morning. Not a terrible shock but I don't feel great, weight wise.

I do intermittent fasting, so brunch 10 / 11am, 'tea' at 3pm, then I stop. I'm luckily not a snacker but I do drink too much so my plan is once a week wine only.
Exercise I enjoy, walking anyway so that will help too as I walk a lot from job to job.

Thanks for the thread @OneStone

Amdone123 · 30/10/2023 10:47

@StillFanta I'm 13st 7. I'm happiest at 12st 7.

OneStone · 30/10/2023 10:56

I'm nearly 14st. I seem to have avoided looking in full length mirrors for a while but caught sight of myself yesterday.
This happened during lockdown and I'm finding it hard to shift as I wfh full time now and only wear lounge clothes (elasticated waist bands!). I've stopped seeing my friends too. I need my life back.

Yes I’m in please! I want to lose 10lb by Christmas.

Amdone123 · 30/10/2023 11:05

@OneStone you can do and you can get your life back.
Lockdown was so difficult during and after. I was 12st just before Lockdown - never got back to that.
When will you get your steps in ?

@BHRK you can do it, too. 10lbs is a great target, and will make such a difference.

My sister suggested slimming world for 6 weeks but I've tried it before and it just doesn't work for me. Not the plan, I think it's the pressure ( that I feel, not what anyone else puts on me).

OneStone · 30/10/2023 11:15

I have the time for steps and exercise, just not the motivation. I'm going to walk before I start work, at lunchtime and before dinner.

I'm definitely in.

I started this morning so this thread is perfect timing.

Stupidly forgot to weigh but I was 12stone a couple of weeks ago. Will weigh in the morning.

Amdone123 · 30/10/2023 16:36

@CJ7 hi
What do you want to lose ? A stone ?

@Amdone123 one stone would be lovely but two stones would be ideal. I am not very tall and carry all the excess weight on my belly and back. I'm a barrel.

CJ7 · 31/10/2023 06:53

Morning, just checking in for accountability.

I started yesterday and did ok. My thing is sweet food so I'm trying to cut that right out.

Good luck to those who are starting today.

Glenthebattleostrich · 31/10/2023 07:01

Hello, can I join. Im 14st 4 and perimenopausal. I've lost 10lb in the last 8 weeks and would love to do the same again by Christmas.

Cutting out snacks, upping step, aiming for 12500 per day) I'm going to walk before and after work (i get the bus so can add walks in fairly easily).

I don't have a kitchen at the moment so food is difficult but not impossible, but cutting back on carbs and, when my new oven is fitted next week, everything cooked from scratch.

Amdone123 · 31/10/2023 08:55

@Glenthebattleostrich hi and well done on the 10lbs, that's brilliant. It must be hard without an oven !
I'm 56 but I think I may have sailed through the menopause. The few symptoms I've had are actually made better by eating properly, exercising and cutting back on alcohol. But, I've definitely found losing weight harder. I tend to hover around 13st 7, unless I make changes. Proper changes.

I did ok yesterday. Not perfect - ate quite late because I had soup at 3pm. This was never going to fill me up !
I'm glad I've got a plan on here though.
Have a great day, folks !

CJ7 · 31/10/2023 09:00

@Glenthebattleostrich well done already losing 10lbs, you should feel proud of yourself. Well done.

Whatisthisarghhh · 31/10/2023 09:18

Count me in! Looking to lose a stone too. Started yesterday but ended up caving and having a packet of crisps and some M&Ms after dinner. But other meals were healthy. I usually eat healthiest when I have a late breakfast (around 11am) and then a small late lunch around 4pm and then dinner when DH gets in. Also trying to do 10K steps a day and about to start some weightlifting at home. Really determined to keep it up - I've had such a shit year and need to get on top of my weight and health. Thanks for starting this thread

Amdone123 · 31/10/2023 09:51

Welcome on board @Whatisthisarghhh

OneStone · 31/10/2023 09:58

Morning all! Good to see so much determination :-)

I hit my 10k steps yesterday and stuck to two meals. Just got to stay away from the halloween haribo today and make sure I get out for a walk soon .. the dog didn't fancy our early morning stroll today.

Morning, all. How are we all doing?
My last 2 days haven't been as planned. However, I have been more active and I just popped on the scales, and all good.
Are we weighing officially on Mondays?

I realised my last 2 days hadn't gone as planned as I hadn't been planning my meals, so today...
Brunch - boiled eggs, sourdough bread
Tea - jacket potatoes, beans, cheese and salad.

I need to up the water so that's my target today. I'm best off buying the 2 litre bottles of sparkling water, as that way I drink it.

@152116kg that's brilliant, well done!
I'm similar - not quite stuck to plan, but made some small changes and that's all it takes sometimes.
My scales are pleasing me but I'm going to weigh, and state here, officially on Monday. I've got to get through the weekend yet - I might just go to bed 🤣

Amdone123 · 02/11/2023 10:08

Oh, just for accountability ( as this worked for me yesterday).....
Brunch - beans on toast
Tea - jerk chicken, spicy rice.

Amdone123 · 03/11/2023 15:03

Good afternoon, fellow slimmers ( nearly said Stoners 😩).
Weekend is a tricky time when you're trying to lose weight. I'm making a few small changes as I've done well this week and I don't want to sabotage it.

  1. I'm only having 1 bottle of wine tonight - no more wine Saturday or Sunday.

  2. I'm still going to eat properly. If I'm not hungover, I won't eat rubbish.

  3. I'm going to try to get a walk in on Sunday instead of lying in bed. I used to always walk on a Sunday morning but because I'm now busy working Mon to Fri, I've been resting.
But a walk makes me feel good, so I'm going to try.

Hope we're all looking forward to weigh in on Monday !
