8 Week Accountability

OneStone · 30/10/2023 10:25

Anyone want to do an 8 week accountability thread? It's 8 weeks today until Christmas and I'm hoping to lose a stone. That's 1.75lbs a week.
I've got 3 stone to lose in total. I'm going to skip breakfast, cut out snacks and up my steps to 10k a day (average currently 5k).

@mumzof4x , its a LOSS. A pound is three thousand calories . Yep 3000 less calories consumed - Well Done !!!

@Clomid1 4 months postpartum your body is still recovering. Of course you are tired still. Listen to your body. Also try to get some gentle exercise, take baby for a stroll in the pram every day. You dont need to have a destination, just a stroll around the block is enough

@Amdone123 Well done on the AF weekend and the 2lb loss xxx

Ive not weighed. I was gaining the previous two weeks and Im not weighing in till Saturday. Reason being for the gain and not weighing is I did a marathon hike on Saturday - 26.6 miles . So I wasn't really watching nor caring about what I was eating prior to that , nor on the day. My body has been that sore since Ive not cared, its been grab what I can when Ive been able to move :) Trying to be mindful but not totally on track

Amdone123 · 29/06/2024 07:53

13st 2 today so a pound off. I'm going in the right direction.
It would have been more but it's my birthday today and I've had wine and a couple of meals out this week so it's fine.
I'm off work for a week but I'm going to make sure I exercise by walking to the supermarket every morning. It's an hour round trip and better than nothing.
I've actually been great exercise wise, and water intake so that's positive.
Hooe you're all doing OK @Clomid1 @mumzof4x @suki1964

suki1964 · 29/06/2024 10:26

Scales still moving up the ways atm but Im going to buckle up and get back on plan this week - fingers crossed

Yep upping the exercise is great, however that adage of not being able to out run a poor diet is true. You still have to be mindful of whats going in the mouth

Im working today and Monday. Tomorrow Im busy so Tuesday is going to be the day I sit down, meal plan and get the groceries in, I really do have to get back on track with proper balanced meals and not cobbled together what I can find and cooked quick, which has been the case these past few weeks

Still an non scale win, I bought a dress, never tried it on, size 12 - and it fits, needs the hips bringing in, and it looks good :)

I havent been a size 12 dress in 40 years :)

Morning folks, how are we all doing?
I've had a very productive week off, tried to walk a bit, water, no wine, etc.....then Thursday I totally fell off the wagon and yesterday was disastrous food wise ( it always is when I'm hungover).
I've stayed the same - 13st 2.
I'm going to have a good week this week. I'm back in work so that helps.
Really, having been off work all week, it could have been worse.

mumzof4x · 09/07/2024 14:39

@Amdone123 your week sounds so productive I feel like a lazy slobConfused
Well done though really
Had a weekend including another 21st and a 60th and much wine and a bit of a binge
Stayed on track weekdays though amd AF Mon - Thu and 5lbs off for me in 7 days which I'm really pleased with.

Amdone123 · 09/07/2024 14:58

@mumzof4x that's brilliant, well done. I'm back at work now so feeling lighter and days more structured. I'm very good at doing nothing then I jump up and it's all systems go.
I've got a special event Saturday but I'm not going to undo all my hard work - I have a tendency to do that.

Clomid1 · 12/07/2024 13:41

Hello Ladies, Long time.
I’ve been so busy running round after the kids.

Weight today : 85.55kg
It’s not great but not terrible either.

Hoping to be a bit more focussed. I’ve reached the second milestone in my app though. 3rd one is 82kg.

Amdone123 · 14/07/2024 09:46

I've stayed the same again, 13st 2. I've had quite a lot going on though so I'm not surprised. I really need to be a lot healthier for at least the next 2 weeks, so I expect to lose some weight.
@Clomid1 well done on reaching your 2nd milestone, that's great.

Amdone123 · 20/07/2024 08:25

Morning, folks. How are we doing @Clomid1 @suki1964 @mumzof4x .
I'm pleased as I've lost 2lb this week. Now 13st. Had a bad start to the week ( daft football), but I reigned it in.
I'm going away 3 weeks today so I'm aiming for another 6lbs off.
Feeling confident.

Clomid1 · 20/07/2024 14:12

@Amdone123 oooo well done! What was your goal weight again? 6lbs off you can definitely do that!

I’m 85.7 today so not much progress here! Bought myself a 2 litre water bottle to force myself to drink lots of water. What do you guys suggest for sugar cravings, to be fair I don’t eat a lot of rubbish anymore but due to the sugar cravings I now eat lots of high sugar “healthy foods” like raisins, dates. How do I cut that down?

Amdone123 · 20/07/2024 14:48

@Clomid1 I'll have a think about some snacks, though I like rice cakes ( the tesco salt n vinegar ones) with peanut butter or a bit of Nutella.
I don't really have a sweet tooth but I like Aldi's dark chocolate bars - and marshmallows.

(I tried keto once and I will say that after a few days, the sugar craving all but disappears).

I probably have 2 x mini bars a day though, so enough, considering I don't have a sweet tooth !

Thanks, my target is 12st 7 so yes, possible.

Clomid1 · 21/07/2024 21:06

@Amdone123 I can’t buy nutella. The pot won’t last a day 😁😁😁

Managed to drink 2 litres of water today. Right monday tomorrow! Let me try and get to 84. Something by the end of the week!

suki1964 · 22/07/2024 00:13

@Clomid1 , well done on the milestone

Sugar cravings do go if you cut them out. I can go a long time before the sweet tooth starts to ache, and I know if I give in to it, Im away, off plan and eating carp. So my go to when I fancy something sweet, and I personally think they are very sweet, Low and Free toffee yoghurts or theres another brand, the coconut and vanilla . I put two of three spoons of fruit muesli in a bowl and stir in the yoghurt and eat it really slowly with a teaspoon. I cant have chocolate or biscuits in the house else I inhale them as I walk past. I also know all about Nutella, I found a huge jar of it in the store cupboard, I never knew it was there. Soon as I knew it was there it was at the forefront of my thoughts for days till I caved in.

Which has been the story for the past couple of weeks resulting in a total 3lb gain. So will power got pulled out this week and cakes and nutella were knocked squarely on the head and Ive lost 2.5 of it

Well done @mumzof4x When Im on track I tend to not to be strict at the weekends, life is hectic, never know whats happening and when and meals become very adhoc , so I try to be very mindful Mon _ Fri and it works for me, losing or maintaining , I gain if I keep my eye off the ball during the week

@Amdone123 another holiday? How do you manage to keep the weight loss going? I love eating out when on holiday , I love street food, I love the pastries and most of all I love the bread. We used to go to Turkey a lot and my early morning walk would be to the bakers for fresh bread for breakfast, and then every meal came with a basket of bread and Id scoff the lot

Amdone123 · 22/07/2024 08:01

@suki1964 well done on the 2.5lb weight loss - that's really good. I'm aiming for 2lb off this week so inspired now.
I find I don't put that much on, on holiday. But I tend to walk at least 3 hours a day, I don't drink like I used to ( drink water too, obviously), and I still do the brunch and tea set - up.
If I put a few pounds on, it tends to go after a couple of weeks.

Tinkerbellexxx · 22/07/2024 13:17

Well done @suki1964 and @Amdone123 and @Clomid1 on your losses !
Slow but steady here
8lbs off in total and 7 to go.
Fell off the wagon with the wine last couple of weeks so back to ditching the wine all week now and that should speed things up.
@Clomid1 well done on the 2 litres of water . I struggle but then always feel so good when I've managed it. Loads of ice and lemon and love my soda stream. Saved a fortune in money and plastic too.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Amdone123 · 22/07/2024 18:41

Oohh @Tinkerbellexxx I should invest in a soda stream. Love sparkling water.
I'm the exact same as you - 8lb off and 7 to go, and yes, slow n steady. I started last October!

I think it's quite hard to drink 2 litres of water. I was at work and lined up 4 x 500mls bottles. I'd had enough after 2.
But I do drink tea, fruit tea, juice so I suppose it's made up that way.

suki1964 · 22/07/2024 22:44

I do the walking, lots of it as you know, think I have to admit that I do like a pint when away, be it a beer or a cider. And it never stops at one :)

@Tinkerbellexx, wine has been another "cant have in the house ". Love the stuff but it goes down too easy and is so calorific, calories I cant afford to consume if I want to eat a balanced diet and either lose or maintain

its my 60th soon, niece is coming from Oz and shes booked us a Spa weekend in Dublin and wine and cocktails will be the order of the day so I want to get a few pound off before then so I can let the reigns out

Amdone123 · 26/07/2024 10:07

Morning, folks, how are we doing? @Clomid1 @Tinkerbellexxx @suki1964

I'm still 13st, so scales haven't moved. I'm ok with it really and not surprised. I've been really energetic this week though, and I've definitely lost inches, so I'll take the non scale victories.

Holiday in 2 weeks. I don't think I'll be 12st 7, but I'll still keep trying.
God loves a trier 🤣

suki1964 · 27/07/2024 03:05

Non scale wins are the best

Ill weigh in in the morning at 8, if I ever get to bed that is :)

I "SHOULD" have lost this week, as Ive barely eaten, have had a gum infection, been on meds which have really upset me plus mouth has been very sore , some days a ladle of soup poured over a slice of bread has been all that I have had, but then theres times when Ive eaten very little in the past and not seen any movement on the scales so Ill not count my chickens just yet

Amdone123 · 27/07/2024 06:22

@suki1964 it sounds awful, poor you. Hope it gets better soon. ❤️

Amdone123 · 03/08/2024 06:52

Morning, folks ! How are we all getting on ?
I'm 13st 2 today which wasn't the plan but never mind. I haven't exercised much because of the heat ( even at work I've done very little). I've only been out once but I suppose that was enough ( to put weight on).
Anyway, I'll enjoy my weekend because that's what it's all about ( big family party today ), and Monday I'll make a plan.
Holiday a week today.

suki1964 · 03/08/2024 14:24

I had actually gained a pound last week and to say I was fuming was the understatement of the century as I seriously had barely eaten. So out of pure badness, to "deserve" that pound gain I went on a carb bender for 2 days lol

Still I soon wised up and back to the good habits and lost that pound this week - it will probably turn up again next though !!!

We havent had the heat - we have had rain, rain and now today - even more - so getting out to walk has been a bit hit and miss. Getting out but not far.

Enjoy the weekend and party

Ive my big one coming up which is why I would prefer to be a bit lighter then I am right now but it will be what it will be

Amdone123 · 09/08/2024 09:01

Good news - I'm 12st 13 so I've lost 3lb.
Not so good news - I didn't reach my target of 12st 7 and I'm going on holiday tomorrow so I can safely say that's not going to happen anytime soon.

I don't think I've tried hard enough to reach my target. I've pretty much been doing the same every week - an angel Monday to Friday and a devil at the weekend.
Though I am trying (a little bit) to alter my lifestyle, it's so hard when something is always happening.

I'm looking forward to September. I tend to hibernate in winter.
Oh, I'll finish on a positive - I'm in a new Stone Zone 👏

suki1964 · 09/08/2024 12:55

Yayy to the new stone zone, thats always a boost I think. Have a great holiday xx

I weigh in tomorrow as normal. Im not hoping for two much tbh. Ive been poorly again this week, gum infection flared again so eating has been slops again and barely any of that either. Trouble is the dentist cant help as my BP has become uncontrolled and Im being investigated for a possible heart problem, so until thats ruled out and my BP is stabilised he cant intervene and yank offending tooth - so another course of antibiotics is the best he could offer.. Still at least he changed them and Ive not got the tummy pain the last lot gave me - silver linings at least :)

I can see another carb bender coming on when this pain eases. I want to bite into food :)

Amdone123 · 09/08/2024 13:17

@suki1964 sorry to hear you're still not well. Sounds like you've been through the mill.
I think have what you want if it makes you feel better ❤️
