8 Week Accountability

OneStone · 30/10/2023 10:25

Anyone want to do an 8 week accountability thread? It's 8 weeks today until Christmas and I'm hoping to lose a stone. That's 1.75lbs a week.
I've got 3 stone to lose in total. I'm going to skip breakfast, cut out snacks and up my steps to 10k a day (average currently 5k).

Good for you and fingers crossed xxx

Jumped on the scales and they were dead. Luckily they are chargeable so will know this Saturday. Its been really hot here ( for NI anything over 15 is classed as HOT ) so not really interested in eating a lot . Been taking some cheese cubes to nibble in the car on my way into work and keeping it light, just had a huge salad with a big jacket spud mashed with a dairy lea light rather then butter , added a wee amount of grated cheese and a tablespoon of light coleslaw and am totally stuffed. So that and a couple of chicken goujons at work has been enough. Lots of sugar free squash though, lots

Amdone123 · 18/05/2024 09:44

I'm 13st today which I'm so happy about. I've lost 3lb this week.
2 more weigh ins til I go away, so I should be a bit lighter for it.
How are you doing @suki1964 @Clomid1 ?

suki1964 · 18/05/2024 13:53

A flipping pound on - which to be fair I was expecting so Im not stressed about it . Its finding the balance of allowing more into my diet and not too much. Where as I would normally eat healthy balanced meals so I didnt panic if I sat and scoffed a family pack of crisp every now and then, this week has been hetic so not organising food for work and pigging out on cake - daily

Im winding my neck in now . Doing a marathon for Macmillan on the 22nd june so need to start eating wisely and cutting the booze

Amdone123 · 25/05/2024 08:34

Not a great week for me.
I'm 13st 4, which was not the plan !
@Clomid1 hope you're having a lovely time on holiday. @suki1964 how are you getting on ?

suki1964 · 26/05/2024 08:55

Lost a pound that I gained last week so happy enough. Daft how much difference a pound made to how I felt tbh, I think perhaps I was retaining fluids during the week, I felt bloated and yuck and there was a definite puckering around the buttons of my work shirt

So thats back off, hopefully another pound off this week but its been a really carb heavy weekend so far . Weather not helping its cold wet and just miserable

Amdone123 · 01/06/2024 07:33

I'm 13st 2 today. The good news I've lost 2lb, the not so good news - I'm not at target for holiday on Tuesday.
However, clothes fit nicely and costume etc, so that's good.
How are you doing @suki1964
Are you back from your holiday @Clomid1

I'm thinking this morning that I'm never going to get to 12st 7 if I don't change a few things. Then I think at least I'm keeping on top of my weight - I'm not piling it on or anything or even unaware, so that's a good thing.
Summer is difficult too - so many holidays, breaks, celebrations - it's no wonder I've not lost a lot.
Almost looking forward to winter. I enjoy hibernating !

Clomid1 · 03/06/2024 08:15

Hi both,

Still on holiday… it’s a long one not back until June 17th. The week before was spent packing and organising. I’ll admit food intake is not good at the moment lots of cakes, sweets, food in general but heck I am on holiday will be back with a goal to get to 60kg before I start work in March

Clomid1 · 03/06/2024 08:16

@Amdone123 yeah at least you are controlling your weight! I think you are doing well 😁😁😁

Amdone123 · 03/06/2024 10:21

@Clomid1 yeah, don't worry about it on your holiday. Plenty of time when you're home.
I'm going to Turkey tomorrow - we're in the mountains so lots of walking for me. Heat permitting 🥴

suki1964 · 03/06/2024 10:27

Ooooo holidays - Im jealous

And Turkey is my favourite place

Not had a good week this week and havent weighed in. Work has been manic and it really has been a case of shove something in quick as Im passing so too much bread and cake - lots of cake, loads of bread

Then away at the weekend, I did choose the better. options but pints were involved

Still new week, new page, start again

Amdone123 · 11/06/2024 08:16

Good morning, @Clomid1 @suki1964 , how are we doing ?

I'm home from holiday, had a great time - I didn't go mad, barely drank, walked a lot.
I'm 13st 8, so not too bad, as I know I'll be a lot lighter on Saturday ( back at work, more organised with food / water intake).
8 weeks til my next holiday so this thread title perfect 👌

Amdone123 · 15/06/2024 07:33

Well, I'm not a lot lighter - I'm the same. It's to be expected, really. I know I need to make more effort if I want it off.
Good news is my sister is also going away soon so together we're going to start walking again and try together.
We were always very successful when we did it together, but then stopped - Well, my sister did. But she's back onboard !

suki1964 · 15/06/2024 10:16

Well Im doing the walk of all walks on Saturday - 26 miles for Macmillan :)

I need it, I had to open my jeans last night - first time in a year :( and yep the scales today show Im 2lb over target

Im tempted to say sure its only 2lb and let it slip, but the jeans wont let me and Im not going up a size so got to pull it in again

So back to a healthy eating plan

@Amdone123 I agree that having a buddy really helps. My buddy has been MIA mostly these past couple of months, she has good reason so Ive no problem with that, but my motivation to get of me bum and walk alone isnt the greatest. I like having a buddy, someone to chat to. I do the dog walks twice a day but they are only 2 miles and slow ( hes a pug ) so although Im getting the steps in, they arent pushing me

mumzof4x · 17/06/2024 08:43

Can I join please?
10.13 and can't fit into many of my clothes. I was 9 13 this time last year and felt so much healthier. Have a big holiday coming up on 4 August and really want to be able to wear all the lovely clothes I wore on our honeymoon last year.
So .... 14lbs in 7 weeks is achievable?
Plan on increasing steps to 10k a day
Michael Mosely Keto recipe book (lost a stone last year on this)
No alcohol Mon to Thursday (yikes)
2 litres of water a day.

Amdone123 · 17/06/2024 11:10

@mumzof4x hi, glad you found us !
We've the same goal ( @Clomid1 @suki1964 - we're on another thread together - alcohol moderation / abstention ).

14lbs in 7 weeks is definitely achievable.
I'm 13st 5 today ( weighing with my sister in Boots on a Monday now) - I want to be 12st 5 in 7 weeks.
Will.you weigh at home ?
Just got my water ( 2 litres, sparkling) - if I buy it, I drink it !
I'm going back to brunch - 11am ish, tea - 4pm ish, then 2 low calorie snacks about 7pm ish.
And of course, moderating the vino 🍷

mumzof4x · 17/06/2024 19:29

Hi and thanks for having me !
2 meals a day here too.
Had breakfast muffins for brunch ( no carbs and lots of protein )
Coffee with a scoop of collagen (yuk) but a bonus protein hit
Fish and buttered cabbage for tea .
Just been for gorgeous walk with the dog.
Hmmm just need a large glass of wine but I will not !!
I'll weigh myself at home @Amdone123 . I'm a bit naughty and can't wait a week ...I will jump on every morning after a wee !

Amdone123 · 17/06/2024 19:37

@mumzof4x no worries. You've had a good first day. I've had a good day too. I've been a bit hungry but I'll be fine.

Amdone123 · 19/06/2024 07:56

Morning, folks.
How are we all doing?
I'm doing OK. I'm struggling to do 2 meals, but 3 small ones is fine.
I'm definitely feeling lighter.

mumzof4x · 19/06/2024 11:27

Feeling lighter is good@Amdone123
Had a good day diet wise thanks but didn't make 10k steps.
Listened the the extended podcast of Dr Michael Mosely (Just One Long Thing ) on weight loss while and it was really good tbf
Takes a lot to hold my attention in the evenings but I've added chia and flax seeds to my lunch already today Confused

Amdone123 · 19/06/2024 11:33

@mumzof4x don't worry about the steps. It's not always easy or practical to get them in.
I'm lucky because I walk to work and back ( 60 minutes in total), and my job is physical so at least 2 hours of cleaning and walking up n down stairs. In fact, I see my job as an alternative to the gym - and I get paid 😀.

I've just had a lovely brunch - bacon, egg, beans, mushrooms and I added some cooked new potatoes ( sliced), added some oil.
I'll see how long it keeps me full.

Clomid1 · 21/06/2024 06:57

Hello Ladies! I am back from my holiday. Got back Monday but needed a couple of days to recover from the jet lag and slightly reduce the eating spree I was on.

Weighing in at 87.05 which is really not bad as I thought I’d be back to where I started.

Little goal again now 6 weeks till my husbands birthday. i would like to be 82kg by then if possible 😁

Going to try and make some massive diet changes as I want all of us healthy for the kids.

@mumzof4x welcome to the thread!

Amdone123 · 21/06/2024 08:48

@Clomid1 welcome home !
That's great regarding your weigh in. It's often not as bad as we think.
Great you've got that 6 week goal, too.

mumzof4x · 24/06/2024 08:05

Well I'm afraid it was not good weekend for me nutrition wise amd now the scales reflect that and I'm so
disappointed in myself.
10 12 this morning so 1lbs down
I guess at least it's a loss and not a gain.
Hope everyone else has more encouraging weigh ins ! X x

Clomid1 · 24/06/2024 10:35

@Amdone123 I haven’t got my motivation back at all. I am soo tired for some reason. it’s weird because my 4 month old sleeps through the night?

Amdone123 · 24/06/2024 11:23

@mumzof4x that's great, better off than on. My sister was going to be happy with a pound off and she's put a pound on.

I've lost 2lb this week. I only drank Thursday and had an af weekend.
I'm 13st 3, so I'm ok with that.

@Clomid1 it's hard when you get back off your holiday. I often feel flat. And you're probably tired because your babba is 4 months old ❤️.
Ease yourself back into it gently - you'll get there.
