8 Week Accountability

Anyone want to do an 8 week accountability thread? It's 8 weeks today until Christmas and I'm hoping to lose a stone. That's 1.75lbs a week.
I've got 3 stone to lose in total. I'm going to skip breakfast, cut out snacks and up my steps to 10k a day (average currently 5k).

I'm home from my holidays. Had a lovely time, a bit upset at times but it's to be expected.
It was strange coming home because I was always so excited to see him after a trip, and of course he's not here.
I'll be ok but thank you very much for asking.

How's it going @Clomid1 @suki1964 .
I was 13st 7. The past 2 days I've been an angel. Eaten properly, water, no treats - I'm 13st 4 today.
Pleased with that.
I've 2 weeks til the Big Birthday party so confident I'll be lighter.
But really if I then want to lose a stone for my August holiday, I'm going to have to make some real changes.

@Amdone123 i can’t begin to imagine how you’re feeling. It must be really tough, it will take time. Stay strong.

ah don’t worry, I doubt you’ve actually gained that much during a week away, you should see that drop of very quickly.

I went on a bit of an emotional eating binge so only just getting back to it myself. This morning I was 87.85kg. Hoping to get to 85kg by the holiday if I can. I don’t think my goal of 82kg is achievable in 3 weeks.

@Clomid1 just keep trying - you've a lot to do besides 'dieting' - I think just do your best. If you have a blip, don't worry.
Also, regarding your holiday, get out / or buy, the clothes that fit you now, and that you like / feel good in.
I looked nice on holiday but more importantly, felt good - walking, water, wine ( when I wanted), salads and ice cream, had what I wanted.
We gotta live 🤣

@Amdone123 I’ve switched from any sort of diet to just eating 3 meals and not snacking inbetween. No idea how you do it though. I have to chew so much gum to stop myself eating 😂

i hate buying clothes at this size though. I find it so depressing.

I am really upset today because I did a next order and this guy turned up to deliver it and it was huge so he went “must be for the kids”. Being overweight does make me look older but its so depressing when people think I am twice my age.

@Clomid1 aahhh, some people just speak without thinking. Don't let it get to you. I'm sure you don't look any older than you are.
Just keep going, you'll get there - have you tried any of the clothes on ?
Your holiday is in 2 weeks isn't it ? You'll soon be in the sun, relaxing.

@Amdone123 it’s in 3 weeks.

I am going to try and not gain when I am on holiday because I am going for 3 weeks. Going to try and make some healthier choices. That way when I am back here hopefully can continue where I left off. My aim when I come back is to get to 75kg by my husbands birthday at the end of July.

@Clomid1 that's a good plan. We don't have to go mad on holiday. Lots of healthy stuff to enjoy, as well as the cocktails, etc.

@Amdone123 aren’t weightloss journeys just so depressing. I really want to indulge but have to keep reminding myself I need to be healthy so I can live longer. Want to be there to see the kids grow up.

@Clomid1 my sister and I were saying this on holiday. She's early 60s now and hates it, but still goes to the group every week. She knows she has to go but it makes her so miserable - not sure I could live like this.
I know what you mean though. I think sometimes it's good to change one's mindset - see it as not missing out, if that makes sense. I sometimes enjoy 'dieting' as I feel in control.
I know exactly what you mean though because I'm the same with alcohol. Sometimes I just want to drink without consequences. But I can't because I won't see my granddaughters grow up.

Do you plan your day ?
I find that helps to know what my meals are, and also any snacks / treats for the day. You could put your treats in your own box for the day - would that work ?

I know it's hard - I think we can get fed up with it, but then we're fed up when we don't feel we're at the right weight.

@Amdone123 this is a good idea. I think I am going to put 300 calories worth of snacks in a box and its my choice whether to consume it but then I have a limit and don’t overdo it

This morning I was 87.15. I started at 93.2 so about 6kg down which is the right way to go.

Yes, 300 cals - I used to do that, so a bag of quavers say (for crunch), a kit kat and another small choc bar. Or a hot chocolate drink.

@Amdone123 that’s a brilliant idea.

options hot chocolate are only 40 calories so would be good.
Pom Pom bears are only 65 calories
Barny cakes are 98 calories

That still gives me 100 calories to play with.
I could even have a tea with some sugar.

Instead of snacking on very high calorie healthy snacks such as nuts and which really do not hit the spot I could have some of these unhealthier snacks to satisfy those cravings. I’ll still have my healthy balanced meals.

I weighed in at 87.3 today. Was really hoping to be 86 point something 🙁 but its okay in general I am still losing.

I keep binging at night 😭 my husband sets me off with, lets drink some tea and watch a movie at 10pm! And it all goes down hill from there. Need to get those snack boxes ready!

i was 87.3 yesterday and 87.8 today.

Been good so far today, drinking 500ml of water before each meal as well.

took the kids to the park. all the other mums are size 8 or size 10’s and there I was like a beach whale. Really need to stay on track for my mental health.

So sorry to read about you saying goodbye to your dog @amdone123 but glad to hear you still managed to find some joy in your holiday

@Clomid1 , dont be measuring yourself against others, you are setting yourself up for failure. Decide on where you want to be and focus on you alone

Ive got to put my hands up here, I have struggled and struggled to get this "magical" 6lb off. So I called quits and am settling for where I am. Its been a pound off, 2 pound on, for weeks - up and down gaining and losing that bloody pound so I called it. Im 9 stone 4 and facing my 60th birthday. Yes the dream was to have an 8 start number but Im a long way from my mid 30's when I last was . So 9 - 4 it is. A 10 is slightly too big and Im too old to be squeezing into an 8 so clothes dont looks so great but how and ever, Ill be in the crimpoline elasticated waist trousers soon enough :)

Im still fighting the fight though, I dont want to be where I was this time last year, and its too easy. I think saying enough has really helped me , the stress and upset I was putting myself though everytime I jumped on the scales and not lost. Now as long as I dont let a weeks gain become two weeks gain, Im happy enough. I dont feel guilty anymore if I stuff a family sized bag of crisps to myself - I eat them, enjoy them, and then the next day reign it back in

Hi @Clomid1 @suki1964 I got back today from a weekend in Barcelona - scales say 13st 7 - oops ! But I know I can lose it. I tried my dress on for the Big Party on Sunday and it looks nice.
@suki1964 I have a similar attitude, it's not the end of the world if things don't go to plan. Just get back on it.
@Clomid1 I've always gone to bed really early ! I can imagine why you'd want to decompress, watch a film etc.
Only had beans on toast today when we got in. Not eaten since. I'm full of a cold, feeling rubbish.
I hate being ill 🤒

sometimes the scales don’t matter , if you look and feel good in what you are wearing , whatever the scales say really doesn’t matter

I’m just back from a wee shopping trip - had to take mum up for a procedure so had four hours to pass. Had to get some basics as what I’m wearing is from 6/8 years ago and don’t really fit My body shape is a lot different post menopause for sure, legs and arms are like twigs. So for the first time in my life I bought size 8 jeans and trousers And celebrated with a McD’s lol. Still weren’t as bad as it could have been. I ordered what I wanted but then found I couldn’t eat all the burger, barely touched the fries and ate half a mini McFlurry I ordered it all because that was what I was craving and if I didn’t give in, the craving would have got worse and it would be everything fattening in sight tonight

I find that if I have a filling carb meal, pasta for example I don’t snack. If I stick to the protein and veg , I’m looking snacks

@suki1964 you are right regarding the scales. I'm very well toned ( did a lot of sports in my youth). People are often surprised I'm 13st or thereabouts.
I feel good in my clothes, not sure I look good but I please me so it's fine.
And yes, if you're craving something, just have it.

Morning !
I'm 13st 3 today and have decided I'm going to try harder to lose weight for my holiday in 3 weeks.
Whilst I think I have a good attitude to weight loss, I've been thinking for a while I need to up my game !
My next holiday is going to be a hot one. I'm not a lover of pools but I'm going to have to take my swimming costume. I need to lose weight for it to look and feel better.
So, 3 weigh ins and I'm looking to lose 7 to 10lb.
I'm also on a no / limited spend for the next 3 weeks so this will help.

Good luck @Amdone123 Its always easier in the heat to be on the lighter side. Im being cooked in work, Id hate to be the size I was this time last year doing this job for sure

Least now with a bit of heat about its nice to have salads, which I really do enjoy over veg

Im another 1lb off this week which Im over the moon with. Trying to keep around the 9 stone mark which Im just above.

I think Im finding the balance of choosing wisely and cooking wisely so that when I do reach for the biscuits, its ok, its a treat its not going to hurt

The balance is for sure a fine line

Weekends I tend not to worry. I weigh Saturday morning, tend to just go with the flow Saturday and Sunday - I can be working, or family descends, or a day out so the weekends are what they are, then Monday - back on the wagon, keeping it home cooked, lowish fat and high protein with lots of veg and so far thats working - slowly - but working

( she says and will no doubt have a gain next week )
