Morning all!

Thought I'd start a new thread as I find the really long ones off-putting! Hope that's OK.

Well haven't posted much over the weekend. Drank too much wine on Friday and Saturday and ate lots I shouldn't. Went out for brunch yesterday but didn't do too badly. A few glasses of champagne, some sushi, a noodle salad thing, some couscous and salmon and prawns and some lamb chops with a small amount of mashed potatoes. Dessert was a small serving of creme brulee. Then only had a slice of toast in the evening.

And..........drum roll..................

I have lost 2 lbs!

So list is as follows:

Danceswithamuffintop
Buda - lost 2 lbs
MMJ
Sheherazdethegoat
Twiglett
Beansprout
AnnieMac
Pira teCat
JingleyJen
Keepcalmandcarryon
AnAngelwithin
HuffPuff
Niecie
SparklyPrincess
Wisp
Dosyd ot
BellaBelly
Sagacious
Knat
Yeahbut

Hope you all did well.

wow! buda you beat me to it, you are obviously v. keen. well done on losing 2 lbs. i lost 2 lbs too but i think that is more to do with the fact that last week i weighed myself after breakfast and this week i did it first thing!

pancakes & bacon for breakfast yesterday can't have helped!

but i did run 5k on saturday this thread is definitely helping motivate me.

dosydot · 03/03/2008 08:17

Hoping to get out to be weighed at 10.30 ish but both DC ill this morning, will report back later.

sagacious · 03/03/2008 08:23

Well done Buda !

After drinking my own bodyweight in pink champagne yesterday I lumbered on the scales

1lb off (probably due to dehydration)

Am off for an hours dog walk after dropping off the dc's and will be sticking to the program.

sagacious · 03/03/2008 08:23

And Goat (sorry a bit cross eyed this morning)

JingleyJen · 03/03/2008 08:26

morning all, am going upstairs to weigh in now.. had a mixed week so not sure of the results.. not helped by Dh cooking beautiful roast lamb with all the trimmings yesterday for mothers day.. however we ate at 5pm and although I was peckish again by 9pm I didn't snack.

DANCESwithaMuffinTop · 03/03/2008 08:31

Well done everyone, I'll do us a group total at the end of the day, we will have lost a stone easily I'm sure Don't know how but I lost 5lbs! I think largely due to the fact I had been really pigging out the 2 weeks before so it's a bit of an artificial loss but I'm still thrilled

Hmmm Humph..

12st 6lb still but 42% fat instead of 44%
Only week one so trying not to do my usual thing of sod it give me chocolate.

Dh got the car today so more walking today will try not to eat cr*p.

Well done everyone who has done well this week.

Buda · 03/03/2008 09:36

Wow Dances!! 5lbs - great result! I think if you have been pigging out more than normal for a couple of weeks and then are good for a week you can lose the gain very quickly.

Sherazade - well done you too. 2lbs is a good loss.

tmmj - well done! 1.5 lbs is a good result - esp with tons of wine! Re Slimming World - if you find it works for you then go for it. I tried it but can't get to classes so struggled.

I have just been to Curves for the first time in 5 weeks so starting my week as I mean to go on. Planning on going again on Wed and Fri.

Morning all, well done to everyone for sticking with it through week one! Started at 13 stone and I have lost (drum roll please) 6 and a half pounds!!! Still approx 3 and a half stone to go but I am so happy with that for first week. And measured myself again last night and have lost 2 whole inches off my waist! Yippee!!!

Bought the cookbook to go with the diet book at the weekend so hoping that I can keep it up fairly easily this week too (although am sure the loss won't be so dramatic next week but that's normal isn't it?) Was naughty and had a couple of drinks (ok, 6 drinks) at weekend but back to no alcohol as of today...

keepcalmandcarryon · 03/03/2008 10:25

well done all - isn't it great to hear of you all doing so well. Bella and Dances - wow - and also to all the other posters - that's great. I am finding this thread really helpful, thanks everyone.

I've lost a pound and a half which I'm a bit disappointed by butis a start.

Interesting how we all take a flying leap off the wagon at weekends, isn't it? Not a typical weekend though, with mothers day and birthday parties (TMMJ!)

Could any one give me any good ideas how to stick to the regime during the weekend? Next weekend we are off to stay with very fun, boozy, good eating friends and it's going to be tricky. I'm thinking a good filling breakfast, say porridge, on Sat am and a good lo cal soup in the fridge ready for when we get back on Sun evening. And perhaps I should write on the back of my hand, "Memo - do NOT drink a bottle of wine in kitchen between you and yr friend while the DH's put kids to bed"

bellabelly · 03/03/2008 10:35

keepcalm, yeah but you won't be able to read it after you've had a few glasses... My thing this weekend has been to not have wine, just water with dinner. So have had a gin or vodka and slimline tonic before dinner and a whisky or two after dinner. Wine is just too more-ish and actually I haven't missed it. So you could try that?

sagacious · 03/03/2008 10:48

Crikey well done Bellabelly and Dances

I think my MIL's roast potatoes had something to do with my rather meagre weightloss
Still onward and upward have just come back from an hour and 20 min strenous dog walking so feeling a bit more gung ho !

piratecat · 03/03/2008 11:17

a pound here!!!

was surprised as had a veg roast yesterday, out for lunch with my sister and my dd.

(have lost 2lb since a week last sat)

but 1lb for the monday weigh in.

only 13lb left to go. Not that it will then make me some sort of skinny minny, oh no, its just a weight that felt good two summers ago.

dosydot · 03/03/2008 12:26

Congrats to all who have continued into week two. I don't it thinks it matters if you don't loose much to start with BUT continuing in the making an effort bit will pay off for us all in the end.

I have now weighed in and have lost 3 lbs,

I have an awful week ahead DS birthday with loads of rellies visiting(food is a big part of all our lives) And I have a birthday cake to make AAHH.
And my sister is coming for the weekend alcohol alert - may not have such a good result next week but my aim is not to put any back on

Niecie · 03/03/2008 12:28

Well done to everybody who has lost something - you are all inspiring me to get my act together and get on with this! When I signed up last week I had given it no thought and spent most of the week eating things I shouldn't, to clear them up and wondering how I am going to do. Pathetic.

So for me I think, smaller portion sizes, much less snacking unless it is fruit and drinking more water. I would also like to exercise more, probably walking to begin with, but I have an essay deadline and a cough and cold this week so I might not be able to manage that but definitely next week.

I think with a total of 5 stone to lose although I am working at a stone at a time as 5 stone sounds too much to cope with all in one go.

bellabelly · 03/03/2008 13:11

niecie - I reckon taking it one stone at a time is such a good idea. I am going to give myself some sort of reward each time I reach a stone off. I have 4 stone to lose altogether and when I think of it that way, I just think YIKES! PS Bet that even with your cold and your essay deadline you could still walk for 20 minutes every day

Niecie · 03/03/2008 13:20

Bella you are probably right. I will probably be fine tomorrow too

Have you got your treats planned out?

At the moment I would just like to be able to get into a couple of really nice tops I bought on ebay which were always a bit tight but which I never got round to selling on. They are waiting there tantilising me with their newness (well not really newness as I have had them months but I haven't ever worn them so they will feel like new).

bellabelly · 03/03/2008 13:44

no haven't planned treats as just thought of that idea when i read your earlier post. Clothes or nice make-up or something maybe? [wanders off to plan treats]

Wisp · 03/03/2008 16:50

Well done on the losses everyone!
I did brilliantly all week, but yesterday was taken out to lunch as a treat, and I was told the diet can hold off for one day...hmmmm
Anyway Ive gained because of that, but still a pound lighter.

ok lost 5lbs this week - 20lbs in total in 3 weeks. Good week for me as i haven't done any exercise due to dd having measles and now she has an ear infection!

YeahBut · 03/03/2008 17:07

Lost 1lb. Going in the right direction, I suppose, albeit slooooooooowly.
Am trying to avoid booze as I snack like mad when I've had a few.
