Morning all!

Thought I'd start a new thread as I find the really long ones off-putting! Hope that's OK.

Well haven't posted much over the weekend. Drank too much wine on Friday and Saturday and ate lots I shouldn't. Went out for brunch yesterday but didn't do too badly. A few glasses of champagne, some sushi, a noodle salad thing, some couscous and salmon and prawns and some lamb chops with a small amount of mashed potatoes. Dessert was a small serving of creme brulee. Then only had a slice of toast in the evening.

And..........drum roll..................

I have lost 2 lbs!

So list is as follows:

Danceswithamuffintop
Buda - lost 2 lbs
MMJ

JingleyJen
Keepcalmandcarryon

I don't know what I lost

well I thought I weighed one thing .. and then when I checked on tues I weighed 3lbs less

and then I couldn't resist weighing myself on friday and had lost 2lbs (from the lower weight)

but then I had a bit of a weekend .. mother's day an' all

and this morning when I weighed myself I'd gone up 1lb

so either I've lost 4lbs or 1lb

I reckon 1lb right?

AnAngelWithin · 03/03/2008 21:18

hello!

weighed myself this morning and i am 12stone 2, so i have lost 3lb. which isnt bad i suppose.

well done to all those who have lost. knat! thats fab! well done!!

good luck for this week ladies!!

bellabelly · 03/03/2008 23:03

Twigg, go with 4lbs!!!

bellabelly · 04/03/2008 10:01

Had kippers for breakfast. Bleeuugghh. I thought I liked kippers (distant childhood memory) but I was wrong. Am going to try to do a looonnng walk with the buggy this afternoon but am not feeling terribly motivated today (still in my pjs at the mo). On the plus side, I had no alcohol whatsoever last night, made easier by watching that Tonight Programme about mums drinking too much!

Buda · 04/03/2008 11:48

Twigg - I reckon 4lbs too.

AAW - - 3lbs is great.

knat - 5lbs - fab!

Was fairly good yesterday - poss too much bread but no 'crap' and no booze.

Off out tonight though - book club which involves wine and food. Am planning on white wine sodas to drink though as am going to gym in the morning.

Buda, you could try what my fil does (he's been told to cut down his alcohol) - make yourself have a glass of water in between each wine and soda. He says it makes him drink less and he sips his drink and enjoys it more. Worth a try?

knat · 04/03/2008 13:57

hi i need to lose another 2 stone!!!! I know its going to be alot slower now although i hope to start doing some exercise next week when dd is better (i hope!). Got myself a paper round delivering the free papers once a week which shoudl be a 2 hour walk!!!

beansprout · 04/03/2008 15:25

2lbs for me I think, but, like others, my scales seem to vary a bit!!

That is a grand total of 40 and a half pounds between us so far!!!!!!!! [faints]

sagacious · 04/03/2008 18:42

Granola and natural bio yoghurt for breakfast
Salad sandwich (x 2) on wholemeal for lunch
Clementines/strawberries for snack
Steak (large grilled) and salad for dinner
Fat free yoghurt for afters

No alcohol for me today I am determined !

DANCESwithaMuffinTop · 04/03/2008 19:26

Cereal and fruit for breakfast.
Very small jkt pot, slice of turkey and salad for lunch
Vege lasagne for tea (homemade, so used skimmed milk for white sauce etc) with salad
Will be having a biscuit and a cuppa after all that goodness

Have to say being on a diet is seriously tedious but if I (we!) can just stick to it properly for a few months I know we will all look and feel alot better.

keepcalmandcarryon · 04/03/2008 20:38

Went to wine club last night and was relatively restrained - we have nibbles halfway through and managed to stick to three bruschetta type things. Woke bright and breezy this am so must have been pretty good on the wine front too!

Today: cereal for breakfast, soup and bread for lunch, bread and cottage cheese for supper (some fruit as snacks but not enough veg- suppose there was some in the soup)

in too much of a rush today to eat anything interesting - DD had preschool MMR and I was on top nursing alert.

Well done all - sagacious you are an alcohol-free inspiration! (hope you haven't caved by now, don't want to make you feel bad...!)

Buda · 05/03/2008 06:41

Well went to book club and enjoyed the evening. Friend had done a lovely dinner but I didn't over eat. Had enough wine to enjoy myself but had LOADS of water too. Feeling fine this morning so obv didn't have too much wine!

Haven't been drinking enough water so that is one thing I need to improve big time. Also I need to eat more fruit. Am feeling a bit bunged up iykwim!

PTA meeting this morning then Parent/teacher meeting with DS's teacher and then gym.

mmj - if you have been MANY times and AlWAYS get bored then maybe it is time to try something else? BUT if you know you'll lose weight to give you a kickstart and that would help then go for it. My personal interest is that these slimming clubs have a vested interest in keeping people yoyo dieting so that you keep on paying out for membership and all their products but have never actually been to one so maybe i'm talking rubbish...

piratecat · 05/03/2008 09:33

hi, not sure if it will work for you then, BUT do you feel extra determined this time.

Would the encouragement and meal plans help or h inder. I do find being 'reminded' I am on a diet annoying, yet I went to ww yrs ago and lost half a stone.

I do find it boring tbh, to be watching what I eat, but have to equate it with losing weight, it's not gonna happen any other way bar liposuction or starvation.!! iyswim

Lets keep at it, we want bettr bodies for the summer. Lets keep that female/woman reserve and steadfast detemination going.

and that mainly mean ME!!!

bellabelly · 05/03/2008 09:33

PS, If you feel the need for something new, you could join me on the India Knight thing - Idiot-Proof Diet - am finding it very effective so far.

mmj - sounds like you will get something out of it then. Why are you hesitant about going?
