Morning all!

Thought I'd start a new thread as I find the really long ones off-putting! Hope that's OK.

Well haven't posted much over the weekend. Drank too much wine on Friday and Saturday and ate lots I shouldn't. Went out for brunch yesterday but didn't do too badly. A few glasses of champagne, some sushi, a noodle salad thing, some couscous and salmon and prawns and some lamb chops with a small amount of mashed potatoes. Dessert was a small serving of creme brulee. Then only had a slice of toast in the evening.

And..........drum roll..................

I have lost 2 lbs!

So list is as follows:

Danceswithamuffintop
Buda - lost 2 lbs
MMJ
Sheherazdethegoat
Twiglett
Beansprout
AnnieMac
Pira teCat
JingleyJen
Keepcalmandcarryon
AnAngelwithin
HuffPuff

i dont know. i doubt it! its a lovely dress. i have never really worn red before, but everyone insits i look fab in it

piratecat · 05/03/2008 18:56

ok, i have sinned. I was doing really well today, until later this afternoon. I had aheadache, and have had a pretty stressful week. Had a panic attack yesterday, and I think my headache stemmed from that. The panics always tire me out.

So I had beans on toast and a sausage, then bloody scoffed about 20 mini cheddars.

why?

Its comfort eating isn't it. I was nothungry after my beans on toast!! Just greedy, as I had opened the packet to put a few in dd's packed lunch 2morrow.

I don't think i had enough for lunch.

DANCESwithaMuffinTop · 05/03/2008 19:01

Ah pirate, I've had a bad day too! Fine until I got back this afternoon then I reached for the biscuits Total comfort eating too The key now is to STOP, have a sensible supper and start afresh tomorrow. BTW 20 mini cheddars isn't that bad anyway!

piratecat · 05/03/2008 19:03

they tasted so nice!!

Plus I still have the hedache. I hate these headaches i get, the type where you think something to eat willshift them, then you try a glass of water, then pills, but nothing shifts it.

New day 2morrow!!

DANCESwithaMuffinTop · 05/03/2008 19:05

I love mini cheddars! I also get horrible headaches

keepcalmandcarryon · 05/03/2008 20:32

ugh ugh ugh - just had really horrible supper from freezer after bloody rotten day with kids (day rotten, not DC's - post MMR blues). Supper was a nasty frozen pizza which tasted vile, and unbelievably fatty. Never believed people who said 'I couldn't finish it" but here I am with some pizza slices pushed away from me. Feeling a bit sad because I thought it was going to be naughty but nice... and actually it was just naughty.

TIAD - Tomorrow Is Another Day.

bellabelly · 06/03/2008 09:24

Keepcalm, that is rotten. Is it one you've had before and liked? Sounds like your tastes are changing which is great BUT annoying that your treat wasn't a treat at all.

As for me, I am feeling smug, smug, smug because I had NO alcohol last night. So that makes Monday and Wednesday totally alcohol-free. Probably doesn't sound like that big a deal but I reckon I used to easily have up to 10 units a night - g+t as soon as the twins in bed, wine with dinner, copious amounts of brandy after dinner... Even if it doesn't help me lose much weight, it has to be helping my liver, hasn't it? Going to try to stick with it tonight then let myself have a couple of drinks on Friday, Sat and Sun.

Breakfast today was bresaola, ham and cheese. Couldn't be arsed to cook anything. Making chicken meatballs later for dinner, not sure about lunch yet, maybe cold meats again.

Hope everyone doing well so far today!

Niecie · 06/03/2008 10:14

Morning all!

I've got myself some new bathroom scales which was a big mistake as I now weigh even more than I did with the old ones!.

However, we are here to change all that so onwards and upwards and at least now I don't have to spend five minutes peering at the scales because the red has worn off the marker pf the old ones and I have trouble seeing it! Have got swanky new digital ones although I wish it didn't do stones, pounds and parts of a pound. If I come on here next Monday and say I have lost 0.4 lb give me a slap! I am taking it all too seriously if I think that counts.

Not been doing too badly this week foodwise. I have been eating a lot less snacks, more fruit and generally a bit more aware of portion size which is helped by the fact that I have a cold. However, everybody in the house has a cold and DS1 has conjunctivitis and off school so not much in the way of exercise being done at all. I was getting out of breath climbing 2 flights of stairs on Monday and Tuesday - pathetic.

And I have an essay to write which is an excuse to break open the chocolate normally! As I say I have resisted so far though.

Well done to everybody for the losses last week. Can't believe you all lost 40.5lbs between you last week - that's a whole toddler!!

Niecie · 06/03/2008 10:16

Actually it is more like two toddlers isn't it? I forget my DS2 is not a toddler any more (4.6ys) and he isn't average either - very tall and very broad and well covered and even he doesn't weigh 40lbs yet!

sagacious · 06/03/2008 10:21

I had an alcohol free night last night (ds had a "friend" over .. they constantly bickered and normally I would have headed for the red after dropping off the little "darling" ..but no I had a cup of tea

At the moment I am motivated so I'm making the most of it !

Breakfast was fruit and fibre with semi skim milk and a cup of tea, bit peckish now might have a bit of fruit

knat · 06/03/2008 10:25

ok yesterday was hard!!! Really felt quite low and wanted to eat, eat and eat. Just had breaded cod and salad for tea and two malted milk biscuits later on (88 cals for 2) so calorie intake yesterday was still around 1200 -1300 ish JUst felt it extremely difficult. Today had cornflakes with skimmed milk for breakfast, getting hungry now though

Buda · 06/03/2008 13:01

Bad day here. Started off ok but then went shopping and bought NICE bread. And houmous. Have had lots of both. And then had a cuppa with a mini-pack of Oreos.

Started period this morning so that may be why.

Already planning wine for tonight.

beansprout · 06/03/2008 14:52

Things not too bad here. I tend to eat the same things every day which takes the decision making out of it. Staying out of the kitchen is good too.

Ds1 (3yo) said something really supportive yesterday - he prodded my belly and said, "you're fat mummy, you look like Mr Greedy". Er, thanks son.

AnAngelWithin · 06/03/2008 16:39

hi. things bad here today!! had mueslie for breakfast, but have eaten chocolate and went out for lunch with my homestart lady and had chicken with bbq sauce, bacon and cheese on, salad and chips. dont know what to have for tea. i feel sick though. eaten too much junk!!

sagacious · 06/03/2008 16:46

DANCESwithaMuffinTop · 06/03/2008 17:29

Cereal and fruit for brekkie
Small Jkt Pot with turkey and salad
Sausage casserole with veg for this evening

What I'd really have liked is
Pain au chocolat for breakfast
Large jacket pot. oozing with cheese
Takeaway for tea

My dh is out tonight too. Will try to resist the biscuit tin, I SHOULD NOT have bought those choc. chip biscuits for dc...

sagacious · 06/03/2008 19:25

There is a packet of Maryland double chocolate chip in the cupboard

They will remain there (repeat 1000x)

Buda · 06/03/2008 21:41

Well.

Period hell.

Went to bed half an hour ago.

Am now up eating ice cream.

Have had a bottle of wine.

OP posts:
bellabelly · 06/03/2008 22:55

Buda, if it's period-related then it doesn't count. But you are back in the game tomorrow And seriously, don't weigh yourself in the morning, periods magically add at least 2lbs I find. (How? Why?)

sagacious · 07/03/2008 08:03

Ahh if thats true then I insist I lost 3lb's last week rather than my 1lb

Can I can I ?

bellabelly · 07/03/2008 10:12

No! BUT I bet those extra 2 lbs will have gone (plus more!) at the next weigh-in...

bellabelly · 07/03/2008 10:17

I have been on scales this morning even though I swore I would only do it once a week. Have lost nearly 10lbs now so am v happy with that. Especially since I was crap and had 3 drinks last night despite saying I wouldn't drink all week. Gosh, I am not very good at keeping to my word, am i? BUT haven't "cheated" at all as far as food is concerned and have gone for a walk every day. Would love to drop a dress size by end of April/beginning of may when weather gets warmer and I can no longer hide under big baggy sweaters...

sagacious · 07/03/2008 10:18

Thanks budabelly (I didn't think I'd get away with it!)
Well I have been good so fingers crossed.. its the weekends that always knock me off kilter

Had my usual cereal and tea
Am off to clean the house in attempt to stop thinking about those bloody biscuits !

sagacious · 07/03/2008 10:19

x post! 10lb ! Well done keep it going and i'm sure you'll do it.

Niecie · 07/03/2008 11:08

Well, stuck in snot and essay hell here. Everybody in the family has/had a cold this week. DH and DS1 were both in yesterday, DH apparently working from home. DS1 also home today so I am stuck here with an annoying cough and two children.

However, no chocolate has passed my lips for 3 days except for 2 miniture Hereos which I got for Mothers Day (I actually got more than two but the others are in the box still ).

I have cut out all snacks except an apple in the afternoon and last night, despite a rumbling tummy and an essay writing crisis I resisted the late night nibbles. It is early days yet but after 2 days I thought I would give my new scales another go and it would seem I have lost a pound so we are moving in the right direction! Just hope the weekend doesn't spoil it all.

Hopefully next week will be more active and I can continue to refrain from eating the junk again.

Bella - 10lbs. Well Done!
That is in less than 2 weeks isn't it? Do you notice your clothes feeling looser yet?
