Morning all!

Thought I'd start a new thread as I find the really long ones off-putting! Hope that's OK.

Well haven't posted much over the weekend. Drank too much wine on Friday and Saturday and ate lots I shouldn't. Went out for brunch yesterday but didn't do too badly. A few glasses of champagne, some sushi, a noodle salad thing, some couscous and salmon and prawns and some lamb chops with a small amount of mashed potatoes. Dessert was a small serving of creme brulee. Then only had a slice of toast in the evening.

And..........drum roll..................

I have lost 2 lbs!

So list is as follows:

Danceswithamuffintop
Buda - lost 2 lbs
MMJ
Sheherazdethegoat
Twiglett
Beansprout
AnnieMac
Pira teCat
JingleyJen
Keepcalmandcarryon
AnAngelwithin
HuffPuff
Niecie
SparklyPrincess
Wisp
Dosyd ot
BellaBelly
Sagacious
Knat
Yeahbut

Hope you all did well.

Oooooooooooh not snacking so hard. I've sucumbed and had a biscuit this morning but just the fact that it's only one is an achievement! I weighed myself this morning and hadn't lost any so I guess the weight loss is slowing down. I hate that it takes a week to put on 5lbs and about 5 weeks to get it off ....snot fair

Sagacious..stay away from the cupboard. Nothing good awaits you in there

sagacious · 07/03/2008 12:05

I have resisted !

Dances well done (i can't stop at one .. i'd have eaten the lot)

Off to pick up dd from nursery then having lunch

bellabelly · 07/03/2008 13:36

thanks niecie, yes less than 2 weeks so am chuffed. i am noticing that clothes are looser BUT it's hard to tell what is down to actual weight loss and what is down to my new uber-tight physio bandage that I am wearing for my bad back . I measured myself again last sunday night and had lost 2 inches off my waist and an inch and a half off my tum so am really hoping that's real!

Just did my walk, I am knackered. And very hungry so am off to make lunch.

knat · 07/03/2008 13:38

really really bad day - feeling very low and consequently have raided the cupboard and fridge. Started well with cornflakes and skimmed milk but then had a natural fruit bar, bag of chocolate buttons and then toast and bagel for lunch followed by yoghurt. Must get off this downward spiral!!!!!

Might get some exercise next week as dd back to preschool on tuesday - so hope to get 3 walks in that week which hopefully will help.

Well done Bella for 10lbs thats great.

Buda · 07/03/2008 15:34

Still hellish - really bad cramps this morning so when I cam from from school run I had tea and toast and nurofen and went to bed - slept for 2 hours. Then had to dash to other side of town to get birthday presents for boys in DS's class for party tomorrow. Went to Tesco too and sucummbed to MacDonalds. Had a McChicken thing - fairly yucky tbh and ate about a quarter of the fries.

Tomorrow is another day.

Off to a gala dinner though so it won't be a good day!

Oh I have had a TERRRRRIBLE eating day today. Soup and air only tomorrow

Niecie · 08/03/2008 21:35

I'm having a bad day too but then Saturdays are always going to be the difficult day. It is traditionally treat night in our house. I am eating my way through a bag of Minstrals as I type. Oh dear.

Tomorrow is another day though.

piratecat · 09/03/2008 18:49

where is everybody today??

How was eberyone's weekend?

I cheated and got onthe sclaes this morning, but havent lost anything. I believe my body is tryign to trick me, and will NOT give in!!!

DANCESwithaMuffinTop · 09/03/2008 19:15

Don't give in, don't give in

I'm here. I have had a highly virtuous day today (small bowl of shreddies with skimmed milk and fruit, stir fried veg for lunch and soup for tea) to make up for the vast quantities of food I pigged out on yesterday. Dread to think what the scales will say tomorrow but certainly won't be anywhere as good as last week!
Hope everyone else has had healthy weekends.

Twiglett · 09/03/2008 19:17

i have been rubbish all week .. don't think i'll weigh in tomorrow (pizza, chinese and curry and cheese toasties)

DANCESwithaMuffinTop · 09/03/2008 19:33

I do understand why you don't want to but maybe if you see if you've put on weight it might give you a kick up the arse (so to speak)and get you back on track Did you see my thread about where you were going to be on monday? btw...here

sagacious · 10/03/2008 07:58

Usual smooshall for me, a saint during the week and then the weekend comes and I just say sod it...

I did cut down (drank vodka instead of wine )

Weighed myself this morning and I've lost a pound, so at least I've got something to show for being good for 5 out of 7 days

dosydot · 10/03/2008 08:08

I am not going to weigh in this am , as normally go to weightwatchers as don't have scales at home. I frankly don't fancy dragging the DC out in the wind and rain.
I will, therefore have to be extremely good this week and make a double effort for next week.

Well done for the pound sagacious

Twiglett · 10/03/2008 08:19

lost nothing, but then again gained nothing which is rather a breakthrough considering the food I ate

JingleyJen · 10/03/2008 08:20

yipee!!!!! Monday morning scales say I have lost...

1LB

Not alot but one a week for the next few months and I will be there!!!!

Hope everyone else is happy as well..

Will check back in later

piratecat · 10/03/2008 08:23

well up till yesterday I was the same as last week.

I got onthe scales today and I have lost 3lbs, which is a total mystery.

BUT, i really think that this shows how weight, water etc fluctuates form day to day.

I don't feel any lighter than yesterday tbh, but its a boost!!

I am determined to keep this up, despite it being pretty hard to do, but I am not cutting out things i love, ie still had coleslaw and cheese on a jacket spud, but didn't have so much that day to compensate.

beansprout · 10/03/2008 08:30

I lost a pound, which I am pleased with as I have not been doing anything too radical!!

YeahBut · 10/03/2008 09:03

Well, a whopping 4.5 pounds this week. I'd love to claim it was all my own work, however, I've had the most horrendous vomiting bug over the weekend which may have played a part. I have been really good this week so I'm sure I did a bit of it!

Have gone off the rails slightly over the weekend - alcohol rather than food - so am not surprised that my weight has gone back up a bit since midweek. Have lost a pound and a half in total this week (making 8lbs in total since we started), so could be a lot worse I guess. I really ought to now take myself off for a brisk walk but the weather is so horrible I really don't want to! Might go and do my measurements instead and see if any more inches have dropped off - I doubt it but you never know!

bellabelly · 10/03/2008 09:41

keepcalmandcarryon · 10/03/2008 09:53

down to 10 st 9lb this morning which is 5 and a half poundslost this week
as piratecat says, not convinced - tho perhaps this is weight not registered as lost in week 1 showing now? Will have to take it as a boost for my efforts but NOT get dismayed if next week's figure shows no loss or even a gain - must just try to stick at it.

piratecat · 10/03/2008 10:46

this is great, this really feels like athread that I will actually truly use for this wieght loss.

Its funny that 2 weeks ago we all felt fedup, and that we have all lost something!!

It IS a healthier eating approach. Iwas kiddung myslef when i said only a few weeks back to a firend, 'I don't understand it, i don't eat that much'

well no maybe not but its the 'bits' the biccies, the pudding covered in cream I have been addicted to since xmas, that wasn't exactly helping !!

So whats everyone eating?

any tips for the week??

bellabelly · 10/03/2008 11:02

My only tip is the one that I struggle most with - really watch your alcohol intake! Easier said than done...

I am going to carry on wth the India Knight low-carb thing, seems to be working well for me so far. Measured myself and another inch gone from waist, woohoo!

bellabelly · 10/03/2008 11:02

PS Forgot to say keepcalm, that is fantastic!!!
