bella belly I have heard about this diet, is it the same as atkins??
Think I would struggle with no caffine or alchohol tbh.
I am keeping my effors secret as everyone says - you dieting why?? ffs for me so I can get into the clothes I was wearing 3 years ago before DC.

Niecie · 29/02/2008 13:22

Well done bella! Sounds like it is working for you!

I like the idea of the rapid weight loss but I don't think I have the discipline to cut out so much and make the rest of what I eat healthyg, iyswim. I would rather have a little bit of brown bread than no bread at all or I won't be able to stick to it.

But then what do I know, I am not the one who has already lost a magnificent 4lbs am I!

bellabelly · 29/02/2008 13:24

dosydot, I belive it is very similar to Atkins - ie low carb, high protein. Have never done Atkins though so am not totally sure how similar. The NO alcohol rule is for first 2 weeks, then you can re-introduce it in moderation. Think you can also bring caffeine back in then too but am actually thinking I might not bother unless I'm at a fab cafe or restaurant.

I think keeping it a secret to start with at least is a v good idea. Otherwise you get all the "oh you don't need to diet!" comments which tbh do my head in.

bellabelly · 29/02/2008 13:38

Niecie, thanks! I thought it would be hard to cut out bread but so far so good, haven't missed it. Which is weird given how much of the stuff i usually eat!

AnAngelWithin · 29/02/2008 13:52

well done bella!

ive just had a small jacket potato with beans and tuna. had nothing else in as i need to go grocery shopping lol.

Yes we certainly are - I've got some in the fridge specially!

Have a roast chicken tonight. Was going to do with salad but can't face it - it's too cold here this evening. So roast potatoes and roast veg I think. DH will moan as he is not keen on roast veg. May do cauliflower cheese too to keep him happy.

keepcalmandcarryon · 29/02/2008 19:28

I am having wine tonight too.

I was delighted to see that the members of this thread are all shown here. BTW don't stray too far into the links from this website, they look distinctly dodgy to me...

dosydot · 29/02/2008 19:59

Drinking wine here too, Having ham egg and chips(homemade/ ovenbaked) so not as bad as it sounds

Buda · 29/02/2008 20:01

Not even going to attempt to try that link KCACO!!! At least not while DS is in the room!

Have had 2 glasses of white wine and then dinner (roast chicken, roast potatoes, stuffing, cauliflower cheese, peas and gravy - was ok but not great). Now on the red wine.

bellabelly · 29/02/2008 20:03

Hahaha, how on earth did you find that site? Bonkers.

morning all! was really really naughty last night. we took the kids to mcdonalds cos i have had such a rough week i really couldnt be bothered to cook. i had a chicken legend and a hot chocolate. i didnt eat the chips though and i asked for no mayo on it. i didnt really enjoy it either which was odd!! and i had one piece of cheese on toast at lunch time cos i had nothing else in! anyway, back on track this morning. going into town later and then grocery shopping.

AnAngelWithin · 01/03/2008 09:08

its 2 weeks today that i need to get into that dress!!

sagacious · 01/03/2008 12:57

I had a bottle
I now have a hangover

So i've had a grilled bacon sandwich

Eugh

dosydot · 01/03/2008 13:07

up at 5 with ds so had 2 breakfasts, although both healthy.
Just ad cheese and crackers, as forgot I was meant to be watching what I ate
But I have told Dh that no I do not want our usual T away tonight and will be making him a curry instead[ proud of self emoticon]

keepcalmandcarryon · 01/03/2008 14:47

bella I just googled 'women drinking wine' and it came up first. It isn't a site I habitually frequent, honest...

TMMJ I think your link is cool!

Having had three glasses of wine last night went out for what was supposed to be a morning coffee to a new friend's house: her DH came in at noon with ready poured glasses of champagne - it would have been rude to refuse. Feel I'm on a slippery slope! DH bought cakes for afternoon tea today: managed to tell him not to buy one for me. It was a close run thing tho!
