Can I join in please?

I'm n stone overweight, aiming to lose lots by the summer.

Plan is to stop snacking on crap, my meals are generally ok, but focussing on making sure they're healthy and their size.

Have just started regime of twice weekly spin/fitball classes, plus running and swimming. Going to need some help keeping that up!

Have lost 2.5 kg in last couple of weeks.

SP xx

2.5kg in last couple of weeks sparkly well done share secrets please

ladela · 25/02/2008 14:52

Niecie,

About pedometers - I have this one

Its pricey but very accurate.

JingleyJen · 25/02/2008 14:53

no not what I meant dances

See here for better list stick to lower/midGI foods try to avoid HighGI foods

DANCESwithaMuffinTop · 25/02/2008 14:58

OMG OMG OMG CHOCOLATE is on the low GI list! I really don't understand this at all! Well I do because I'm not stupid but it's completely different to any weight loss thing I've done before. Shortbread is on the mid list! Ok, so what about Shreddies (thinking about what I have eaten today) and raspberries?!

Buda · 25/02/2008 14:58

Great - loads more joining in!

Had soup and one slice of Irish brown bread for lunch.

Had to take DS to Doc and stocked up on fruit and salad stuff while out - just had a pear.

dosydot · 25/02/2008 15:18

Good for you Buda, I had a couscous salad for lunch and have done a chicken stew for dinner which I will have with some boiled potatoes
Will shut my eyes while DC and DH eat the crumble and custard though

dosydot · 25/02/2008 15:20

I will also feel very odd without my full stop to the day - glass of white wine with dinner. still needs must, I bought a couple of lemons this morning I always think its much easier to drink water if you fancy it up with Ice and lemon( can you tell I'm a bit of a lush)

White wine sodas are nice - long glass - about an inch or so of wine, couple of ice cubes and fill glass with soda water. I can make a bottle of white wine last a week drinking these!

dragonbutter · 25/02/2008 16:54

I'm in.
Weighing 12st today.
Plan: Gym 3 times a week for an hour.

Brown rice and a sausage casserole (made in my beloved slow cooker with lean sausages) with peppers, tomatoes, garlic, onions and fennel seeds. Mmmmmmmmmmm :-) Pudding will be strawberries and maybe one plain biscuit(my only one today!) with my cuppa if I'm feeling decadent

DANCESwithaMuffinTop · 25/02/2008 19:06

Have you got a rosemary conley cook book MMJ? Is it any good?

Sam100 · 25/02/2008 19:18

Can I join too? I have been trying to lose dc no 3's post pregnancy weight for nearly a year now! (He is 18 months old) Nothing is working! At 13 stone I am the heaviest I have ever been (was just below 12 stone before I got pregnant with no 3). I lost about half a stone a month or so ago when I had a tummy bug but it has slowly creeped back on again and once again I am back at 13 stone!

I am off to Thighs, Tums and Bums in half an hour and have booked in for Wednesday too.

I promise to:

  • stop drinking alcohol monday to thursday
  • drink more water
  • stop eating crisps
  • stop eating the kids leftovers!!

I am a long term PCOS girl - i think low GI is supposed to be good for that too but would welcome any tips/recipes?
