Which would suggest to me - the supply issue is preventing people from going up to the official maintenance dose - which is where you reach your steady state in good time because they are extending the advised titration timetable. That shouldn’t be happening unless medically needed. That’s put me off moving there! As that’s been updated recently.

mumwheresmyribena · 16/04/2023 11:35

Novo Nordisk (the manufacturer). It's sad that prescribers are simply upping doses without checking if people need it @Beenalongwinter

Actually - this is where the issue comes with off licence. That guidance is for sugar control only - not weight loss. For weight loss as you’ll find with Wegovy (same drug) you move up through the titration doses.

Peridot1 · 16/04/2023 11:41

Yes @Lostinalibrary - we are mostly using Ozempic off label for weight loss. So it’s a bit different to blood sugar control.

Exactly - and for effective weightloss you should titrate all the way up to full dose and stay there. Which will be how Wegovy (same drug) works as that’s how optimum weight loss happens.

The website for Wegovy specifically says can increase not should increase.

I think the fact that Wegovy comes in much higher doses probably means they expect most people to need to increase @mumwheresmyribena.

mumwheresmyribena · 16/04/2023 12:44

The website for Wegovy specifically says can increase not should increase.

That’s why Wegovy is in higher doses - that’s what works for weight loss. Obviously if you struggle on a dose - you stay and titrate up slowly. For weight loss you should be moving up the titration doses and not being held back I necessarily. Shocking that this is being given out as advice. That’s for blood sugar - not weight loss.

You handily missed this out.

I’ll repeat again - I asked the question why a supplier holds up from moving you to 1mg for weight loss (suspicious it’s a supply issue). I got many answers justifying it - including that’s what the manufacturer recommends. It doesn’t. Semigultide works in higher doses for weight loss. If you’re on Ozempic for diabetes - not everyone will move up. If you’re on it for weight loss, the optimum doses are higher. Hence why we will soon have Wegovy. Where the advice is you titrate right up. That’s what should be happening on Ozampic off label scripts too. Pharmacies are not being irresponsible by moving people up on a 4 weekly schedule - that is what is supposed to happen. I won’t use a supplier that deviates from that now I’ve seen that’s what happens.

100% however incorrect info isn’t helpful. Especially when people are doing very well out of the £50 referral codes for one supplier as they get a kickback too. It was a valid question asking why they delay titration by a month when no-one else does and it’s not needed for weight loss.

Peridot1 · 16/04/2023 13:44

I don’t think @mumwheresmyribena was deliberately being unhelpful. She’s been really helpful with some other questions and sharing articles.

A big issue with us all using it off label and buying from various suppliers is that we don’t get all the correct information and support. Hopefully when Wegovy is available that will change.

I agree. I just wanted to clarify if that supplier delays titration by a month - it does. As that’s not advised for weight loss - I’ll steer clear. I know they are popular on here as everyone swaps codes and gets £50 kickback each but I’d rather follow the optimum for weight loss until Wegovy!

Beenalongwinter · 16/04/2023 13:56

I think we are all trying to keep the cost to under £150 per month . I have used multiple offers and codes but also
would be happy to buy from cheaper suppliers but there is currently no stock.
I want to keep one pwn ready for when I finish the one I am using.
I am grateful for those who shared codes and information and who take the trouble to post.
It is clear from varying posts some people stop losing or plateau when they increase the dose and some people lose more weight increasing the dose.
I am happy to pay £150 code or no code but I don't want to pay £200. Per month.

It’s a valid question but none of us here work for Juniper or any of the other companies so surely you appreciate that people are just giving their opinion? If you think you know the answer ( & I happen to agree with you) then that’s fine but other people have different opinions.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 16/04/2023 14:00

I've no idea how people are doing well out of myjuniper referrals. I was given a code on here, but it was pretty generic and I didn't need to quote someone, even though they thought I'd need to use their name.
And although I've bought from there, they've made no mention of a refer a friend scheme (like manual has) that would give me a code to pass on to others.

Please can we stop talking about codes all the time? It’s really boring and when people think they are being helpful in giving others codes it in fact just leads to accusations of bias. That’s why the codes thread got closed down by Mumsnet. It’s basically advertising and Mumsnet doesn’t condone that.

OzempicClicker · 16/04/2023 16:02

It's just not working for me at all. Can anyone help? Week 1 (at the 0.25 dose) I noticed a temporary cease in food chatter, and a little flatulence. In week 2 (at a c. 0.35 dose) I noticed no change and my appetite and food chatter was back. On Thursday I jumped straight to the 0.5 rose. Appetite is the same as it was before Ozempic, no side effects at all. I can't see the point of it at all.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I was hoping it would help with cravings and food chatter but that effect was temporary. I'm 57F, about 50lbs overweight at 188 lbs.

Peridot1 · 16/04/2023 16:06

It takes time to build up in your system. It doesn’t work for everyone though for various reasons. But you need to just be a bit more patient. And stick to the recommended dosing.

Peridot1 · 16/04/2023 16:07

And also @OzempicClicker you need to work with it. Higher protein and fibre, low carbs, lots of water. It’s not a magic appetite suppressant. In fact that’s not how the drug works. It’s just a side effect really.

Fortheloveofus · 16/04/2023 16:10

@OzempicClicker where did you get yours from?
I'm trying to do some research into whether it has actually failed for some people. I'm probably panicking for nothing and people on here are probably sick of hearing same thing from me but I injected on Wedmesday (not totally sure I did it correctly but some have reassured me it's fine and it takes time - which I understand), but I have been having same hunger levels as normal, no side-effects (which guess I should be happy about) and I'm permanently hungry. can't inject again till Wednesday and it's so frustrating. I got mine from Manual and was supposed to get a personal coach and a WhatsApp group but neither are available to ask questions. Poor service

I thought appetite suppression was how it works: how is it supposed to work? I'm sorry, I'm just in a very gloomy mood today.

I already eat a fairly low cab diet as I don't have a sweet tooth and don't enjoy bread, pasta, cakes, chocolate etc so I don't eat them.
