Lazy pig seeks other lazy pigs to lose 1lb a week.

Ok, this starts on Monday, as I have a steak pie and mash and yorkies to eat tomorrow. Will also heroically finish the Christmas chocolate so it’s out of the house. Once that’s all achieved, I’m good to go.

I need and must lose at least one pound a week until April. That’s about a stone.

Shouldn’t be too hard, right? Wrong. I’m basically fucking lazy, I hate exercise, hate going out in bad weather and am a total gluttonous food guzzling pig. And probably peri menopausal. And I sit at a desk all day. And a million other pathetic excuses why I’ve not shifted this weight in 2022 like I said I would.

I can’t be the only one who’s got sod all willpower, so who’s up to being fully accountable to this thread?

Lazy pigs like me especially welcome. Weigh in Monday morning.

Yay! Same here. Lazy pig. I want someone to come and move my legs for me.

declutteringmymind · 08/01/2023 09:21

Currently abroad pigging out. Fondue, truffle pizza, croissants, wine, the lot. Back tonight. Start tomorrow

Gwdihooooo · 08/01/2023 09:21

But the weather’s so shit!!

mycatsanutter · 08/01/2023 09:29

I need to , I'm the heaviest I have ever been . Just got back from a last minute all inc. where I discovered honey rum so have drank gallons of it . Time so sort myself out !

Mañanarama · 08/01/2023 09:31

Hooray! Are you two pigs joining me on the quest?! Today is for eating and sitting. Tomorrow is for eating and sitting a tiny bit less. Easy does it though, nobody needs to be going into shock or misery.

@Mañanarama oh definitely can't start today , tomorrow is the day !

Namechangeforthis88 · 08/01/2023 09:40

What really pisses me off is that I have cut out loads of rubbish I was eating, so what I eat is reasonably good, upped exercise considerably, and I have lost 2 pound in about 3 months. 1 a week is surely achievable? Exercise has gone up another gear. It's mostly about food though isn't it?

supertato32 · 08/01/2023 09:43

Me! I always have an excuse. I'm also a single mother to a toddler and work full time and struggle to even do 100 steps let alone 10,000. I have a big 40th birthday this weekend but could do with being healthy this week. I just polished of two bacon wraps oops

This is me, apart from the healthy eating and exercise bit. It’s my age. No other explanation.

I'm in. I meant to loose weight for my friend's birthday weekend next week and have failed because I have been eating mince pies and brandy butter.

All my friends have got slimmer and fitter while I've followed a reverse curve.

I did loose weight a couple of years ago but have piled it back on and then some.

I wish I could hand my body over to someone with motivation and will power.

Poor lazy me Sad

mycatsanutter · 08/01/2023 09:49

@supertato32 it really was ! Smelt lovely too it didn't make me feel even slightly tipsy though so I had lots of them 😀

Mañanarama · 08/01/2023 09:50

It’s totally willpower with me, I have none. Why have two biscuits when your tea is at optimum temperature and there’s only five left in the packet? I might stop buying biscuits. I also might not.

@Mañanarama no more procrastinating, tomorrow !😂

Ok ok! Thanks, needed that.

Im not expecting anyone to morph into some supermodel salad of virtue, by the way. If you do, you’re out of the lazy pig club. There’s no room for astonishing success here.

MyOldCaravan · 08/01/2023 09:55

I'll join you! Started last year with 2 stone to lose. And now it's 2 and a half.

Will definitely start cutting back on food tomorrow - I need to cut back on the sugar, carbs and evening snacking.

mycatsanutter · 08/01/2023 09:59

@MyOldCaravan same here , those are my downfalls. If my son can't get into a pack of biscuits I open them for him then 2 jump in my mouth , if he doesn't finish his tea I do . But I have read a tip for that - throw salt over your kids leftovers immediately 😂

Mañanarama · 08/01/2023 10:11

Here’s my aspirations for week 1:

Eat fewer biscuits.
Toy with the idea of doing some mild squats while working (from home) maybe 20 per hour? Ish.
No other aspirations, don’t want to overdo it early on. It’s not a race.

pansypan32 · 08/01/2023 10:19

I live on my own and went out for a cake yesterday. I came back with a while
Carrot cake and four doughnuts from aldi. I'll need to get through all those today before I start healthy eating haha! You all sound fantastic and my spirit animals. Looking forward to going on this journey with you. Randomly I find drinking a shit tonne of waster every day and reaching for fruit before biscuits helps me cut out eating crap

Mañanarama · 08/01/2023 10:23

Oh yes @pansypan32, more water is a good one, I’m really bad at that. Might put a slice of lemon in it for that sanctimonious feeling. Flush out the shortbread.

Joining. Mum of two, one who is six months and wakes regularly (which is why I tell myself I eat all the biscuits).

Finishing off today with a big bang of a roast chicken dinner. And possibly leftover chocolate panettone bread and butter pudding.

What is everyone's plans for weight loss?

you sound like my kind of person op! Eat fewer biscuits? Definitely not a race but I’ll slowly amble towards that target. Possibly. Weigh in tomorrow 👍🏼

Mañanarama · 08/01/2023 10:26

Biscuits are good for tiredness @buonnatale , fact.

I don’t want to be hearing any tales of ordering salad in a gastro pub. Let’s promise not to make each other feel Inadequate for having pie, chips and pudding.
