Ok, this starts on Monday, as I have a steak pie and mash and yorkies to eat tomorrow. Will also heroically finish the Christmas chocolate so it’s out of the house. Once that’s all achieved, I’m good to go.

I need and must lose at least one pound a week until April. That’s about a stone.

Shouldn’t be too hard, right? Wrong. I’m basically fucking lazy, I hate exercise, hate going out in bad weather and am a total gluttonous food guzzling pig. And probably peri menopausal. And I sit at a desk all day. And a million other pathetic excuses why I’ve not shifted this weight in 2022 like I said I would.

I can’t be the only one who’s got sod all willpower, so who’s up to being fully accountable to this thread?

Lazy pigs like me especially welcome. Weigh in Monday morning.

Well done Chief Pig!

I have been skulking at the back of the sty, coming to terms with the fact that what I could eat and lose weight 3 years ago is more than I can eat and lose weight now.

But I had another mini improvement today, so keeping on keeping on!

Am having a few alcohol-free days. But have just eaten a few squares of dark choc.

Mañanarama · 01/03/2023 21:01

Chief pig has celebrated with chocolate, because obviously that is the most sensible thing to do… I bet there’ll be no 3 tomorrow goddammit

And another one down and another one down, another one bites the dust.

10st2.4 this morning. 9lbs gone since we started.

Excellent work @Mañanarama! If I was your present weight I'd be fandangoing round the neighbourhood in hotpants.

Trust me you do not want that. There’d be bits flobbling about all over the neighbourhood. If I lose another stone I might.

Yippeee, I’m down to 9st 12 now so a loss of 6lb.
Now I have to stop myself from buying a cruffin to celebrate....

EyesOnThePies · 03/03/2023 09:12

Well done BaconAndAvocado!

I have another Kg to lose and I will be happy. SLOW progress though.

@Mañanarama less than 20 posts before this thread locks itself….

Inchstonesbeatmilestones · 03/03/2023 09:31

Morning all, my see saw journey continues. 2lb down today but with all the up down I've been doing, means not great progress since the start.

Right, my mantra this week shall be " I shall be a good piggy" and this week I WILL RESIST fuck it Friday. 😉

CheekySwine · 04/03/2023 08:10

I've just read this whole thread and I'm feeling really inspired! Can you accept a very late new oinker?

I've been trying so hard to lose some weight but all that happens is I fail, feel guilty and feel sad. I really like the slowly slowly don't feel sad motto.

EyesOnThePies · 04/03/2023 09:08

Good morning CheekySwine!

Yes, feeling good about small, slow losses , and treating each day as a new day is better for the Piggy mentality than beating ourselves up when we get lured into the trough.

I have a new ‘lowest weight since joining the thread’ this morning!

CheekySwine · 04/03/2023 09:15

Well done @EyesOnThePies

So my starting weight today is either 10 st 7 or 10 st 9 depending by on where the scales are put in my bathroom. Need to lose at least a stone. I've bought new scales as my current ones now offended me earlier this week!

HamFrancisco · 04/03/2023 10:09

Hello new piggy!
I too have a new lowest weight since joining. I think I'm aiming for the record for the slowest weight loss ever, but at least it's going down.

CheekySwine · 04/03/2023 14:54

In the spirit of taking it slow I've had a very healthy morning, avocado and chicken breast on seeded whole meal toast for breakfast/lunch but this evening I will be having fish and chips plus birthday cake.

Had anyone ever tried only weighing themselves monthly? I find every weigh in so disheartening and end up falling off the wagon and into the piggie trough.

whatausername · 04/03/2023 15:47

@CheekySwine i've not tried but i say try it and let us know how you find it!

Mañanarama · 04/03/2023 16:29

Welcome @CheekySwine, never too late to join the lazy pig club. I’ll be starting a new thread soon as this one will hit 1000 posts, can’t believe it!

I’m weighing myself daily at the moment, I know this is not ideal and isn’t an exact science, but it seems to be working for my willpower (most of the time).

We seem to have several sty escapees, just checking you’ve all seen there’s a new thread!

Realise this is an old thread but did any of you lose a stone or two on here?

@abracadabra1980 I did, then put it all back on over winter. So I begin again, there’s a newer thread linked a couple of posts up!

(just had a bowl of chips for my tea, so obviously am doing GREAT)

buckeejit · 07/04/2025 17:00

I started at the new year & have 1.5 stone off now. It’s been very tough & much slower than when I was younger. I’m very overweight so thought the first couple of stone would be easier! I’m having a weigh in day/holiday day off today though & have eaten badly but defo ‘in the zone’ finally with diet
& can see & feel a difference with clothes. Really I should lose another 4 stone+ but will be pleased if I can shift another 2.5 stone by year end I guess.
