Friday weigh in club!

choc27 · 02/01/2023 20:51

Anyone fancy joining me in weighing every Friday and posting our progress? I will also post what exercise I have managed that week.
I need somewhere to be accountable! Ideas for meals would be good to share as we go along too.
I have around a stone to lose and am aiming for 1lb a week loss. I will be loosely calorie counting.

Snack idea for those who like marmite!

2 marmite rice cakes and 1 Laughing cow light cheese spread = 86 calories

Oooo, not thought of that. Thank you 😊

Been for a walk this lunchtime - really didn't fancy it in this cold weather, but figure I need to keep doing some form of exercise daily to try and make the habit!

Breakfast - Exante caramel latte meal replacement shake (yum, and kills hunger for AGGGGES!)
Lunch - Rice cakes w/ peanut butter, Babybel light, small yog
Dinner will be salmon fillet, grilled veg and some rice. Yog for pudding.

Haven't been as good at drinking water today so need to get some down me this afternoon!

@catsandkid I'm using meal replacement too. I'm using protein works. They fill me up just Long enough but I wouldn't say ages. Never heard of exante though. Where do you get it?

FlutterbButterfly · 18/01/2023 10:02

Glad you're feeling better @choc27.

I'm working two shifts today, off out soon, having a cuppa before I leave. Just back from a short but swift dog walk, I'll naturally get alot of steps in at work today but they won't be recorded as I'm not allowed to wear any device/carry my mobile.

I have also put my days eating plan into MFP. I've made room for some wi e tonight, so low on food calories today but I make up for it at weekends.

Crossing my fingers that this system still works for me like it did 4 years ago 🤞

Have a good, happy day all.

choc27 · 18/01/2023 18:07

Eaten all my food for the day. Did quite well but ate a little bit of homemade chocolate cake that someone gave me. Tried to adjust the rest of my meals to make up for it though 😬.

@choc27 Exante shakes I just get directly off their website - they're not too pricey (£1-2 per shake) but they definitely fill me up - I don't even finish the shake usually. Have tried various brands and tend to go with a brand that has a deal on, but have stuck with Exante because delivery is super quick and the caramel latte one is my fave breakfast. They're low carb, high fibre and highish protein. I usually only have 1 per day as a quick breakfast if I'm hungry.

Today was an office day for me, so didn't have much control over lunch.
Breakfast - None
Lunch - Grains salad, sweet potato chunks and some coleslaw (likely loads of calories, but as it was from the salad bar at work there were no labels or way of measuring it!)
Dinner - Chicken fajita bowl & a yog

Also had a Quality Street sweet at work to perk me up!

choc27 · 18/01/2023 22:27

Thanks @catsandkid I will Check that brand out after I've finished my protein works stuff. I'm also using bulk for protein shakes. They arw quite nice and reasonably priced too.

Mmmm quality street........

FlutterbButterfly · 19/01/2023 08:33

It was the damned Quality Streets that kicked me into action again. They are a must in our house for Christmss Eve, more a childhood sentiment than anything. Josh did I feel sick Christmas day for over eating the night before.

Working all day today. Starting with a cuppa.

Meeting DF for a coffee at lunch , I'll probably have an Almond milk hot Choc. That'll tide me over until dinner which will be a chicken caesar salad with the MN mountain, yes mountain of salad leaves. Grapes for snack

Weigh day tomorrow, does everyone feel confident/or not of progress?

lightinthemirrorstormyoutside · 19/01/2023 09:11

I was back on it yesterday after having a terrible week.

Lunch - Chick pea sandwich (nicer than it sounds) & a banana
Dinner - pitta, houmous, tofu and carrots

Not expecting any change this week but hopefully next

catsandkid · 19/01/2023 09:23

Really could not be bothered to get out of bed and exercise today - it's too cold!!! But, I forced myself to do 45mins of a youtube HiiT/aerobics workout (I do really enjoy the old school aerobics stuff!) and feel miles better now, so I'm glad I did. Was in the office yesterday for a full on day of meetings so didn't get a workout in yesterday, and I know that if I miss a few days in a row I break the habit and just dwindle down and stop.

Breakfast - Exante shake (200cals)
Lunch - Salmon fillet with loads of grilled veg (320 cals)
Dinner - Whatever HelloFresh brings!*

*We use HelloFresh for dinners and we have selected so we always pick the lower cal options. They are amazing and really big, filling, tasty portions - all under 650cals but most we have are around 550cals. It's really helping, and also as the meals provide exactly enough for 2people there's no chance of nipping back in for seconds!

Hope you all have a good food day!

goldenbag · 19/01/2023 15:37

I had a good day yesterday as was rushing around all day and hardly had time to eat!

But today I was doing fine but then caved and had five squares of dairy milk and two rich tea biscuits. As a result I'm left with 260 calories for the rest of today!!

What time shall we weigh in tomorrow? First thing?

choc27 · 19/01/2023 17:23

Everyone is doing so well!
Today
Breakfast overnight oats
Lunch protein works shake
Dinner, sausage casserole, mash and veg.
1260 cals. But will have a protein shake when I get back from the gym too.

Not sure on progress tomorrow. I know I've done OK this week but lifting weights at the gym means that scale progress seems to be limited.

I'll weigh in about 9am properly. Working from home tomorrow.

@golgoldenbag , I'm shooting out to work as soon as I wake up I'm rhe morning. I'll weigh around 2/2.30pm. Out I'd experience for me this is when I am at my lightest- I think it's more to do with the type of work I do (leisure/sports industry) as to why.

catsandkid · 20/01/2023 08:02

Weigh in week 1: -2.5lbs!

Start weight - 136.5lbs (9st 10.5)
Todays weight - 134lbs (9st 8)

Quite chuffed with that as I rarely manage to lose even 1lb

Breakfast now - Exante shake (200cals)

goldenbag · 20/01/2023 08:37

Weigh in

Starting weight 9st 7lb (13 Jan)

Today weight. 9st 4.9 (20 Jan)

So basically 9st 5 but I prefer the look of the 4. Grin

Happy with that but it is SUCH hard work.

lightinthemirrorstormyoutside · 20/01/2023 08:54

Weight last week 9 stone 12 and 9 stone 11 today. I'm amazed actually as had a terrible start to week. Want to get to 9 stone.

Yesterday I ate:

Lunch - scrambled tofu with vegetables
snacks - rice cakes and houmous / 1 pack of lentil crisps things
Dinner - Mushroom chilli, avocado and rocket

Weekends are my total downfall

lightinthemirrorstormyoutside · 20/01/2023 08:56

Well done - @goldenbag & @catsandkid :)

catsandkid · 20/01/2023 09:00

@goldenbag @lightinthemirrorstormyoutside

Well done guys!!
Now to try and keep this up for the next week!!

goldenbag · 20/01/2023 10:06

Wow! Well done everybody!

Marmite27 · 20/01/2023 10:09

I need to loose 2st 9.5lb to be at my preferred weight.

I started last week, after some family birthdays, and lost 2lb this week.

choc27 · 20/01/2023 10:40

Last week 149.6lb
Today 149.
Still disappointed, but I know I have eaten well and exercised well so I am just thinking it is because I am weight training. I need to take some measurements as I think maybe that is more of a measure for me.

OP posts:
goldenbag · 20/01/2023 13:20

@choc27 still a loss! My PT says many people struggle even to stop gaining, so even staying in the same place is an achievement. But half a pound off is great!

When I was doing more weight training and kettlebells last year I didn't lose a single oz! Genuinely! But my clothes size went down and I felt amazing!

Am doing more cardio stuff atm simply because I'm enjoying it. But I know when I do more resistance and weight based the scales don't budge!
