Friday weigh in club!

choc27 · 02/01/2023 20:51

Anyone fancy joining me in weighing every Friday and posting our progress? I will also post what exercise I have managed that week.
I need somewhere to be accountable! Ideas for meals would be good to share as we go along too.
I have around a stone to lose and am aiming for 1lb a week loss. I will be loosely calorie counting.

@FlutterbButterfly , thanks.
Yes, I'm similar, only want 10lbs off now.

FlutterbButterfly · 11/04/2023 18:59

Not sure I'm going to have much joy thus week as I javent been that good. I haven't been bad either but have consumed more than I should. Gahh, for celebrations! 3 bank holidays incoming thick 'n fast. 😱

IHeartGeneHunt · 11/04/2023 20:23

Weighed myself this morning, despite Easter eggs and all the rest I'm still 15 stone 8! I've got a birthday lunch and I've promised my daughter we'll have fish and chips this week, and then that's all the treat days out of the way for a while.

Amdone123 · 12/04/2023 08:08

@FlutterbButterfly , I'm the same. In fact, I'm contemplating not weighing myself. @IHeartGeneHunt , that's good ! I ate out a lot over Easter and had wine. I'm on holiday next week so that's a write - off 😩
I need to sort myself out or not bother.

choc27 · 13/04/2023 10:54

Hi everyone, I'm back! Well done those that have stuck to it over Easter. I gained 2lb on my holiday. Doesn't sound too bad but when you think it took me months to lose it, it makes me want to cry!
I have decided to change tac a bit. I'm fed up slogging for months to loose hardly anything so I've decided to eat at maintenence calories and continue lifting in the gym. So essentially I am recomping. The scales shouldn't change but hopefully my shape and measurements will.

@choc27 welcome back ! 2lb isn't too bad, but I hear you .....so hard to lose yet putting weight on is child's play.

FlutterbButterfly · 13/04/2023 21:10

Nice to have you back @choc27 , as you say 2lb isn't a bad gain for a holiday but I hear you! I've been battling with the sane 1lb on and off for the last few weeks and I've been as good as gold, not cheating myself and in a large calorie deficit. Can only put it down to age 😱😭

choc27 · 14/04/2023 10:33

How did everyone get on today? I am not weighing as only started tracking my maintenance calories properly yesterday. It felt good to eat!

FlutterbButterfly · 14/04/2023 14:59

Up 1lb- the same 1lb I lose then gain. I'm not too disappointed as last weekend I drank lots of alcohol over the course of the Easter celebrations plus 2 meals out. I didn't over eat but enough not to lose. Whether I have really gained is 🤷🏼‍♀️ as I'm not a daily weigher so could be weighing heavy. I'll keep plodding away as really want to be at 10st 0 by summer and hopefully another 6lb off by October but not sure how likely as I've only dropped 7lbs in 13 weeks. I'm eating very little too, my maintenance calories are 1500, as soon as i go over the weight creeps back on. Whereas my DS who is in her early 30s is same height as me and 9st but eats like a horse, not necessarily the best of diets and she's no more active than me. She's just willowy and I do believe in metabolisms.

Best of luck all

Amelia891 · 17/04/2023 08:40

Hi all, I forgot to weigh Friday but weighed today and I have also put on 2lb @choc27
So now 6lb off my goal weight.

I’m not hugely surprised, found it too hard to count calories and be good whilst the kids have been off school and with all this chocolate lying around but I agree, it’s so frustrating how fast it goes on compared to how long it takes to loose!

I’m going back to 1200 cals per day and going to try and fit in an extra gym session this week.

Well done to everyone who has lost and I hope everyone had a good Easter x

CottonSock · 17/04/2023 11:07

I've put on 5lbs over Easter. Oh dear. I didn't hold back though.

choc27 · 17/04/2023 20:41

Easter has a lot to answer for!

OP posts:
CottonSock · 20/04/2023 08:46

@choc27 totally my own doing.
2lbs have come off as the wine bloat subsides. Must be very good now for rest of April. I'm trying to record a loss each month even if small. April is a gain at the moment.
Going to calorie count for a while again.

FlutterbButterfly · 21/04/2023 15:16

No change again for me this week 🤷🏼‍♀️, not sure why I'm not getting much success this time round 🤷🏼‍♀️ but its not a gain so that's a positive. Hope you're all fairing better than me!

IHeartGeneHunt · 21/04/2023 16:31

Afternoon! I haven't been trying to lose anything to be honest, I'm going to maintain for a bit. Still 15 stone 8 and size 16!

Cantdoattitude · 22/04/2023 07:58

Sorry checking in after a few weeks absence, I was on holiday the week leading up to Easter so didn’t weigh, and then I’ve had covid the week after easter and been quite ill.

Weighing in this morning at 11 stone 5 which is depressing, more than I was after getting back from holiday! And I have stuck to my calories for 12 days which is the longest I’ve done in ages, but I’ve barely exercised with having covid (some days I didn’t move!) and am only now getting back into it.

I think I need to reduce my calories though, I’ve been doing 1600 a day with the aim of actually sticking to it 98% of the time including the weekend, but I’m going to drop it down to 1500 at least for Monday-Friday. I need to not give in and trust the process! It’s hard though as I’ve not been comfortably into the 11 stones since just after I had my second baby, I was always hovering around 10 stone 12 - 11 stone 1 which I could just about deal with. But my diet has just been so appalling since the winter.

Onwards and upwards! Well done everyone on losses. 3.5lb is amazing @Amdone123 !

choc27 · 22/04/2023 11:07

I didn't weigh. I was too scared! I can tell my jeans are tighter. I am trying to maintain for a bit but it's not going very well 😬

CottonSock · 22/04/2023 12:20

I did ok since my easter disaster. Calories counted this week and a few of the lbs gained came off. Most probably wine bloat. Going to work had to lose the extra lb I gained this week.

May is going to be hard with all the bank holidays and half term.

Cantdoattitude · 27/04/2023 21:52

Weighed this morning and back down to 11 stone 2lb. It’s taking an age and I haven’t seen under 11 stone since the autumn, but that just goes how bad my eating habits had gotten. I really hope in 4 weeks time I’m solidly under 11 stone. I’ve got just under 16 weeks until my holiday and would really like to be down to 10 stone 7…

IHeartGeneHunt · 28/04/2023 08:23

I've been back on it this week and am 15 stone 6 today! Only 4lbs until I've lost 3 stone now!

Amdone123 · 28/04/2023 10:22

@IHeartGeneHunt , that's brilliant, such an achievement. You've done so well - it's not easy but you've not given up. 👏 🥳
I'm the same as when I started but 1 ) I have been on holiday and 2 ) at least I've not put on.
🤣

Amdone123 · 28/04/2023 10:24

@Cantdoattitude , keep going. I know it's demoralising sometimes but it's better than putting on ( which is presumably what would happen if you weren't trying).
I think you can get to your target 🎯

choc27 · 28/04/2023 12:45

The battery has run out in my scales! I don't have a spare. Well done to all for sticking with it. I will weigh when I get a new battery.

Well done everyone!

I'm in a rut, not losing and not gaining. For the last 4 months I have been sticking religiously to my <1200 calories sun- Thursday and don't count at weekends, but don't go silly. However, I did slip up this week quite badly, kind of hit the self destruct button and had a bit of a binge Sunday night- 6 Choc digestives and 2 bags of Crisps wolfed down in about 10mins- this sort of thing is very rare for me and I probably do it once or twice a year so no I'm not a binge eater but gosh do I feel guilty afterwards! So, quite surprised there was no movement upwards on the scales 😳.

I'm back on it now and hope I don't slip up again. It's such hard work, much harder than it was 4 years ago!

FlutterbButterfly · 28/04/2023 17:04

My last post didn't post in entirety.

Basically, I've been so good sticking to <1200 calories Sun- Thursday and then Fri and Sat i what I like within reason. No hiccups for last 4 months other than a bit too much 🥂 at easter.

However, I did slip up on Sunday and hit the self destruct button! I binged which I never do (well maybe once or twice a year but I generally have strong will power)- not terrible but not great; 6 Chocolate digestives and 2 bags of hula hoops wolfed down in about 10 mins- this was after my dinner and I was already full. I don't know why I did it and my gosh did I feel guilty the next day.

I haven't lost or gained this week but I was expecting a 1lb or so on. I'm back on it now, but it's frustrating and so hard.
