Friday weigh in club!

choc27 · 02/01/2023 20:51

Anyone fancy joining me in weighing every Friday and posting our progress? I will also post what exercise I have managed that week.
I need somewhere to be accountable! Ideas for meals would be good to share as we go along too.
I have around a stone to lose and am aiming for 1lb a week loss. I will be loosely calorie counting.

Is it too late to join? I weighed in at 9st 7 yesterday. Want to get back to 9st. Happy to go with Friday weigh in!

goldenbag · 16/01/2023 10:30

I'm doing 1200 as well

choc27 · 16/01/2023 11:40

Welcome @goldenbag! Definitely not too late!
I track my calories on MFP. I'm on about 1450. How tall are you all?

OP posts:
goldenbag · 16/01/2023 15:34

I'm 5' 4". Just want this 7lb off but it's so stubborn. MFP allows me only 1200 which is nothing!

FlutterbButterfly · 16/01/2023 15:39

Joining in too, if that's OK?

I lost just over 4stone in 6 months in 2019. I maintained up until early last year then the weight has slowly crept up again. The reason? I stopped weighing myself which had kept me in check, I was almost to scared to face the scales as I could feel the weight gain. I've not felt good about myself since. I bit the bullet and weighed again last Friday. I have a 1.5 stone to lose, which is far less than I had thought and should be salvageable if I can get I the zone. I tend to have success with low calorie (1200) Sunday- Thursday and then let my hair down over the weekend. I will also up my step count and make sure the bulk us done at a swift pace! I prefer Friday weigh ins as I'm generally at my lightest due to my diet routine.

Age: 44
Height- 5ft9
Start Weight- 10st 11
Goal- 9st 6lb, but will be happy at 10st.

Good luck everyone and hoping we can share ideas, advice and support.

choc27 · 16/01/2023 18:13

@FlutterbButterfly your goals and eating routines are practically the same as mine.
5ft 8
10 stone 10/11, first goal is 10 stone. Eat low calories in the week and not really at the weekend.

And that is why I prefer Friday weigh in!

Sounds almost identical! It worked very well for me 4 years ago, so cross fingers it will this time (albeit 4 years older!). As long as I'm in the zone I can do it, it's just finding it first... let's see what Friday brings.

So far today, I've had-

Mid morning to act as brunch a homemade hazelnut protein shake made with Almond milk.

A handful of Grapes

Tonight I'll have smallish potion of Pesto pasta.

If I need anything sweet I'll have a couple of sugar free butterscotch boiled sweets.

Lots of water and copious amounts of tea.

Have walked 6 miles so far.

How about you?

goldenbag · 16/01/2023 18:46

This is the hardest part of the day for me!

What time do you have dinner/main meal?

I tend to have mine between 6.30 & 7.30pm. Then will have cups of tea through the evening (no sugar did the tiniest splash of milk).

MintyPrincess · 16/01/2023 18:58

Can I be a late joiner please? Need to lose a stone

Mfp tends to give you very low although it also depends on what you said you want to lose per week. Without prying too much, what's your goal weight?

choc27 · 16/01/2023 19:29

Welcome @MintyPrincess !
I'm off work with the lurgy today and probably tomorrow so trying not to sabotage things while lying around the house!
Didn't do too bad at the weekend and went swimming and to the gym.

Hello! Would you mind if I join too? Saw this thread and weighed myself. I'm also shortish, am currently 60kg, would like to be 55. Weight has been sneaking up after initially losing a lot after giving birth 18m ago. I had an operation in Nov which, combined with Christmas excesses, has definitely accelerated the gain in the last 3m.

goldenbag · 16/01/2023 22:06

@Harrysmummy246 I want to go from 9st 7lb to 9 st

goldenbag · 16/01/2023 22:07

@FlutterbButterfly about 6:30 but I just seem
to stay hungry until about 8 and crave sweets!

Have you tried the sugar free boiled sweets that the likes of Aldi/lidl sell? They are about 9cal a sweet. Hit the spot, just don't consume too many ir you'll be confined to the toilet through the night 🙄😆

FlutterbButterfly · 16/01/2023 22:25

Or you could add something like grapes as they are really quite sweet

It's a relatively small amount and the ' last bit' which is always harder but you'd probably be ok on 1400 but being really really consistent with it.

Welcome @LucysTamborine!

Hope everyone has a good eating day!

New day, very very cold but beautiful and sunny.

I'm not at work today but have I'm just back from dropping my DS to college which is an 1.5hrs round trip due to traffic and icy road conditions. Also had a mooch in Home Bargains en route home, picked up vanilla protein powder for my mid morning shakes.

Putting on layers and thermals and off out with the DDog for a long-un, she's a working breed.

Once home I'll have that shake and some fruit as Brunch.

Maybe watch some TV as everyone is either at work, college or school, bliss! Maybe though, I'll get my trampette out and jog on it whilst watching, yes I do this 😂

Housework this afternoon, woohoo 🤔😆

Haven't got to do the return run for DS today as DH is passing on way home from working in this occasion so from lunch onwards I'm in an out of the cold- not that the house is much warmer due to being frugal but I have my nice new oodie dupe.

Planning on eggs in some form for my dinner but yet to be decided.

I hope you all have a good day and stick with your plans.

goldenbag · 17/01/2023 13:47

Porridge for breakfast
Soup for lunch
670 calories left according to MFP!

catsandkid · 17/01/2023 13:58

Been for a walk this lunchtime - really didn't fancy it in this cold weather, but figure I need to keep doing some form of exercise daily to try and make the habit!

Breakfast - Exante caramel latte meal replacement shake (yum, and kills hunger for AGGGGES!)
Lunch - Rice cakes w/ peanut butter, Babybel light, small yog
Dinner will be salmon fillet, grilled veg and some rice. Yog for pudding.

Haven't been as good at drinking water today so need to get some down me this afternoon!

FlutterbButterfly · 17/01/2023 14:53

@catsandkid , I don't know much about Exante but I guess it's similar to the protein shakes I make up? I make mine up with protein powder, ice, splash of Almond milk and sugar free Hazelnut syrup. Makes around 500ml for 175cal and filling. Just wonder about price and whether it's worth trying something like this instead? Although I can't stand coffee , I'd have to find an alternative variety.

choc27 · 17/01/2023 15:30

Still off work I'll, so no gym for me tonight.

Had fruit and fibre for breakfast and cheese sandwich for lunch.
Cod Fillet and broccoli gratin for tea.

Will be back to work tomorrow and on normal eating routine.

Everyone sounds like they did well today!
