Friday weigh in club!

choc27 · 02/01/2023 20:51

Anyone fancy joining me in weighing every Friday and posting our progress? I will also post what exercise I have managed that week.
I need somewhere to be accountable! Ideas for meals would be good to share as we go along too.
I have around a stone to lose and am aiming for 1lb a week loss. I will be loosely calorie counting.

Morning, everyone!
I meant to ask how everyone copes with weekends. I think someone mentioned it upthread.
I was out Saturday so wine calories were imbibed and Sunday consisted of macdonalds and cornettos. I kept telling myself it was a day off , and to get back on it. I think it's hard to put it behind you, but I did.
I had a great day yesterday - ate properly and exercised. Walked 45 mins to zumba and walked back.
This weekend is going to be af - I'm actually happy about that. It means I can eat properly. I don't really like junk food. You are what you eat and all that.

IHeartGeneHunt · 28/03/2023 08:44

Morning!
On weekends I have one day where I don't count calories but don't go overboard. Then I don't weigh myself the next morning. Seems to work for me!

Amdone123 · 28/03/2023 10:05

@IHeartGeneHunt , that seems like a good approach and yes, it's obviously working.

FlutterbButterfly · 31/03/2023 15:12

I don't trust my scales, I've tried a new battery but I think I'm going to have to get a new set. It'll probably scew my results for a bit- you know fair test conditions etc 😂

I've apparently put on 1lb when weighing in stone and pounds, although in lbs it's only 0.6 of a lb so not terrible. I know the gain can be real weight as Im sticking religiously to plan and I'm in a large calorie deficit. It's likely its water weight I've caught myself 'weighing heavy'. I'm well aware of fluctuations but I'm just not up for weighing daily - I'm not brave enough!

Hopefully you've all had a successful week. I'll plug on- damn last stone.

Amdone123 · 31/03/2023 15:44

@FlutterbButterfly , gawd, they're a pain aren't they. Mine give different readings in different areas of the house 🤣
I'll get weighed tomorrow at the slimming club. I'm not looking forward to it. I've had a bad week, one where life got in the way.
Just keep going - you'll get there.

Cantdoattitude · 31/03/2023 16:27

I purposely didn't weight today because I had a meal and drinks out on Wednesday so gave myself yesterday and today to wipe the slate clean, going to weigh tomorrow. Not sure I'll see any loss, I weighed Wednesday morning and was back down to 11 stone 5.

Off on holiday tomorrow until Wednesday so diet will be hard to stick with. And then it's Easter I need to go hard afterwards. I've got a summer holiday booked mid August and I want to get down to 10 stone 7 (I was 11 stone 7 last Friday weigh in). It's 19 weeks so in reality that should be doable, chip away at 1lb per week with a bit of a buffer.

But I HAVE to stick to it, especially once I break 11 stone as I've been 10 stone 11-13 a few times over recent years but once I see those numbers I give up! This thread is a good reminder.

Amdone123 · 31/03/2023 16:32

@Cantdoattitude , yes, it's hard with Easter, etc, or going away but in 19 weeks you can lose a stone.

FlutterbButterfly · 31/03/2023 16:59

@Amdone123 , mine can't decide what weight I am in the same spot. The difference can range between 3 or 4lbs everytime i step on them. I end up stepping on and off them about 20 times and record the weight that was most common!

IHeartGeneHunt · 31/03/2023 17:48

I didn't weigh myself this morning because I forgot and I'm throwing caution to the wind and getting McDonald's tonight. Back to work after annual leave tomorrow so I'll start sticking to it again.

choc27 · 01/04/2023 09:22

We're on holiday now for Week so won't be weighing! And won't be dieting either! Hope I don't do too much damage!

@choc27 , enjoy! Somewhere warm and sunny? Or UK break?

I let myself loose on holidays too, I'm not away until August and then again in October and hope to be at my goal by then 🙏

Amdone123 · 01/04/2023 14:06

@choc27 , have a lovely break.
Well, I put 2lb on - not surprised by that really - I had a bad week.
But I'm really determined now to get a good result next Saturday.
I know I can do it, just need to focus !

Amelia891 · 02/04/2023 08:43

Have a lovely holiday @choc27 !

I weighed Friday and am back down to 10st 4, but I just can’t seem to get below that. Going to try and have a really good week this week so I can enjoy some chocolate next weekend!

IHeartGeneHunt · 04/04/2023 16:57

I would like to announce that I am a size 16 today!!

Amdone123 · 04/04/2023 17:27

@IHeartGeneHunt , that is the best announcement I've heard all day ! Well done, you are doing so well.
Absolutely brilliant and very inspirational.
You keep going - you're smashing it 🥳🥳🥳

IHeartGeneHunt · 04/04/2023 19:14

Thank you@Amdone123 ! Very pleased with myself. This time last year even a 20 wouldn't have gone over my shoulders (or whatever body part!)
I bought a pair of shoes last year and they were tight but I never remembered to take them back. Tried them this morning and they fit too!

choc27 · 04/04/2023 20:04

Fab news @IHeartGeneHunt!
We are in sunny Devon and it is glorious! We are all embarrassingly sunburnt!

OP posts:
Amdone123 · 04/04/2023 20:04

@IHeartGeneHunt 🤣🤣.....I've heard people say that about feet shrinking, too. So long as everywhere else does !

Amdone123 · 04/04/2023 20:06

@choc27 , that's great - the weather not the sunburn !

FlutterbButterfly · 04/04/2023 20:30

Way to go @IHeartGeneHunt , I think you know you've got this!

@choc27, oh dear you've been caught out- happened many a time to me but more often DH! Enjoy the rest of your break 😊

Plugging away here. Day off work, walked the dog, ran some errands, life admin and housework. Had a couple of cups of tea in the morning, protein shake at lunch, more tea and a very large (yes really) egg Mayo salad. Will have some fruit in a bit. Hard-core day today.

Enjoy your week all.

Cantdoattitude · 05/04/2023 20:19

I weighed Saturday and was back down - 11 stone 3. Have just got back from a UK break involving lots of food and drink (plenty of exercise which is my norm but, can't outrun your fork!). I'm going to have a really healthy day tomorrow before another little weekend trip away followed by Easter Sunday. I'm going to really be on it after that to try and undo some damage.

FlutterbButterfly · 07/04/2023 15:07

Yay, down 1lb, although it's the same pound I've been tussling with for 3/4 weeks. But I'm happy which is the main thing. 13lbs to go....

Ive been working today and will tomorrow. Easter Saturday but will stick to a steak to keep the calories reasonable.

Enjoy the Easter weekend everyone!

IHeartGeneHunt · 07/04/2023 15:45

Still 15 stone 8, which I'm very happy with as I've been starving hungry after work this week and not stuck to it very strictly!

Amdone123 · 08/04/2023 08:32

I lost 3.5lb this week. I'm pleased with that. The last 7 days have been quite hard at times, but I've been ok. I've had more energy, felt more positive and my skin is looking good.
It's 3lb then over 3 weeks. Slow and steady. I think in my menopausal state, it's all I can really ask for.

@Amdone12, that's loads! I've been patiently waiting for a 'woosh' - I had them last time I was losing weight generally after stalling. I doubt it'll happen this time around as only trying to lose 1st 7lbs- I've lost 8lbs of those so 13lbs to go. So slow.

Well done!
