Friday weigh in club!

choc27 · 02/01/2023 20:51

Anyone fancy joining me in weighing every Friday and posting our progress? I will also post what exercise I have managed that week.
I need somewhere to be accountable! Ideas for meals would be good to share as we go along too.
I have around a stone to lose and am aiming for 1lb a week loss. I will be loosely calorie counting.

@LoLostSleep hope you are all on the mend sharpish!

choc27 · 18/03/2023 19:00

@LostSleep hope everyone in your house is well soon.
Well done all the losers this week. I hope your weekends are going better than mine. I have no will power. Ate out last night and drank half a bottle of wine. Ate McDonald's today. Ffs!

The weekends are very hard! I'm finding it hard to stick to my calories to be honest (in the week let alone the weekend) but I've done well to not binge since joining this thread, so baby steps. I need to just keep chipping away, the only time in the past that I've lost weight effectively was for my wedding 9 years ago, I was lighter to start with but managed to lose more just by consistency over a long period of time (a year!). Boring but it works and what I don't want is for this to be my minimum weight forever!

Hope everyone's having a good week and fingers crossed for some more losers on Friday.

Amdone123 · 22/03/2023 17:47

@Cantdoattitude , I know, i hear you.
It isn't easy, but sometimes I think to myself, well, don't do it then but I know I'm not happy carrying this extra weight, so as you say, keep chipping away and we'll get there.
You're doing well, as you said, you haven't binged since joining here, and that's massive progress. Sometimes I don't think we give ourselves enough credit, either.
I think the secret is finding low calorie foods or meals. My dsis says soup is her friend, but it's not for me. Unless it's accompanied by a French stick and half a pack of lurpak!
Tomorrow I'm going to make a chilli con carne and portion it out. I could eat chilli every day.
Keep going @Cantdoattitude , you can do it.

IHeartGeneHunt · 24/03/2023 07:18

15 stone 10 today!!

Cantdoattitude · 24/03/2023 07:19

After saying that I jinxed myself! Was going to a friend’s for dinner Wednesday so are much later than usual (I usually eat with the kids at 5:30pm!) so snacked all evening before going, then yesterday was in meetings all day, only had time to inhale a quick meal deal in between, so again stuffed my face when I got home, I was so annoyed with myself! And the scales reflect it as I’m back up to 11 stone 7 today. So frustrated with myself as this is the same cycle I’ve been on for years now but the weight is increasing - a year ago it was 11 stone 3 after a bad week. It’s such a slippery slope!

Amdone123 · 24/03/2023 08:55

@IHeartGeneHunt , well done. It's coming off at a good rate. Keep going, you're doing brilliantly! Never mind the kiddies swing, you'll be on a trapeze soon !!
@Cantdoattitude , at least you know where you're slipping up. Make a plan for this week, or at least the next few days. It will come off but you're so right about that slippery slope.
I get weighed tomorrow. I've had a good week so I'm hoping for 2 or even 3lbs.

choc27 · 24/03/2023 09:20

Well done @IHeartGeneHunt!
Ive had one of those weeks where it just hasn't really been possible. Loads of life stuff in the way, so have hoped to maintain only this week. We will see in a minute....

OP posts:
IHeartGeneHunt · 24/03/2023 09:37

Thank you! This is the longest I've stuck to it in years.

LostSleep · 24/03/2023 09:40

No loss for me this week, although managed to maintain. Lots of lost sleep due to DS(7 months) having the same cold and waking a lot overnight. Hoping this time next week we would have recovered.

Congrats on the loss @IHeartGeneHunt

One bad week doesn't define us, consistency is where is matters. I find that if I cut too many calories I put on weight. Our bodies are strange sometimes

CottonSock · 24/03/2023 10:09

I've had a few bad weeks too. Trying to get back on it properly for a few weeks now before Easter. I'm in a cycle of losing each week (or not) what I put back on every weekend.

Cantdoattitude · 24/03/2023 10:28

Well done @IHeartGeneHunt !

choc27 · 24/03/2023 14:14

Put on 1lb. Oh well. I seem to be going round in circles. Will try to be better this week coming but then we are on holiday so will all go out the window again!

FlutterbButterfly · 24/03/2023 15:51

That's great @IHeartGeneHunt sounds like you are on a roll!

I'm down 1lb, and can definitely see that my tummy is flattening. The scales don't really seem to be reflecting how I feel though,I feel so much lighter 🤷🏼‍♀️. I'm not disappointed though and I'm heading in the right direction. Just under a stone to go which is going to be a bit stubborn and with fluctuations not as quick as I'd like. Hopefully I'll get there by summer.

Start Weight- 10st 13
Currently- 10st 05 (145.2)
First Target- 10st
Goal- 9st 6

Amelia891 · 25/03/2023 07:34

@choc27 same, gained 1lb. Although I have been very relaxed with my calorie counting the 2nd half of this week due to 2 x family birthdays and therefore a couple of meals out (and all the cake!)

Back on it Monday and going to try to have a relatively healthy weekend. Getting a bit fed up with this last 5lb now though. Feel like the first 5 fell off so easily and now these final 5 just won’t budge.

Well done everyone who lost 👏🏼

Amdone123 · 25/03/2023 10:50

Lost 1.5lb.
I'm ok with that as I lost 2lb last week. I have been on it, though - fewer than 1500cals a day, walked at least 10k most days, lots of water, no wine. I've had a few treats but obviously included them.
I'm going to keep trying. It's better off than on.
I'm out out today so will be mindful but I'll probably have what I want !
@Amelia891 , just keep going. I know it must be frustrating with that last hurdle - you've not really got too far to go. It will happen.
@LostSleep , it must be so hard when you're tired. Tiredness is a big trigger for me. You're right about our bodies being strange. I have a feeling that if I carry on doing what I've been doing, I'll probably lose more next week, but 1.5 /2 lb a week is super for me.

Autienotnautie · 26/03/2023 08:31

2lb this week. 13lb over all

choc27 · 26/03/2023 14:24

Some amazing losers this week! Well done!

IHeartGeneHunt · 27/03/2023 08:23

15 stone 9 this morning! Starting to feel like a different person!

Amdone123 · 27/03/2023 08:39

@IHeartGeneHunt , hey, don't go changing! I'm joking - you're doing so well ❤️

IHeartGeneHunt · 27/03/2023 09:00

Thank you! I feel so much better.

FlutterbButterfly · 27/03/2023 11:12

Good going @IHeartGeneHunt , how much have you lost to date?

4 years ago I lost 4st 1lb in 6 months, once I was I'm the zone I was on a roll.

I kept it off until last year then for some unknown reason stopped getting on the scales- which had always kept me in check.

So here I am again with 1 st 7lbs to shift- I've lost 8 lbs so far but its so slow this time round! That's 8lbs in 10 weeks which I know is quite good really it's just that I want to be there now 😭.

Amdone123 · 27/03/2023 12:14

@FlutterbButterfly , that is really good going. You're doing well. Keep going, you'll get there.
I think sometimes we do want it off quicker than is possible - I used to join slimming clubs and expect to feel lighter the next day - just because I'd joined up 🤣
My approach now is to eat as healthily as possible, move as much as I can and drink water. But, to keep going. Lost 1.5lb last week. Was tempted to feel disappointed but gave my head a shake. Over 4 weeks that's 6lb.

IHeartGeneHunt · 27/03/2023 13:14

@FlutterbButterfly 2 stone 7 since Christmas!

choc27 · 27/03/2023 20:45

Some honestly amazing progress! Well done to all of you!
