AnnieHoooo · 24/12/2022 21:29

Thanks for the new thread @Pelo22 ! Let's go for it in 2023 😃

Runnerduck34 · 26/12/2022 00:14

Yay! Found you!
Happy Christmas everyone 🎄

whyhere · 26/12/2022 08:37

Happy Christmas one and all.

Weigh-in day for me. Weird how different foods affect us. I'd really like your thoughts on my numbers....

Lost the couple of pounds I'd gained after hitting goal (11st 9lb - heavy for some but looks right on my frame and at my age), plus one more, so now 11st 8lb, despite eating pretty much whatever I've fancied over the past week (although my tastes and appetite have definitely changed). However, my waist has increased by one and a half inches! My thoughts are these: I've had more sugar this week, mainly of the liquid variety. I don't drink alcohol but I do like alcohol-free wine, and as part of feeling festive I've had a couple of glasses of it each evening (rather than my usual - very weak - lime and soda). Although it has less sugar than alcohol, it's still definitely sugary, so does that explain the waist increase?

Stravaig · 26/12/2022 21:58

@Pelo22 Thank you!!

Sodullincomparison · 26/12/2022 22:13

@Pelo22 thank you for sorting!!!

@Stravaig thanks for pointing us in the right direction.

Stravaig · 26/12/2022 22:13

Quick recap. I started at the top of Overweight BMI, am now at the top of Healthy, and aiming for the middle. I've lost 12 kilos in 12 weeks, though more erratic than linear. Ongoing illness means forced inactivity 🦥 and I like mini milestones 🥳 and colourful vegetables 🥬🌶️🥕🥦🍅🍠🌽.

Sodullincomparison · 26/12/2022 22:14

Good to see you all here! Let the fun begin!

Sodullincomparison · 26/12/2022 22:51

@Stravaig 12 kilos!!! Bloody hell- I hadn’t clocked it was that much! Well done.

already ordered my greens for my next food order!

i lost three kilos in 12 weeks! Generally down 2/3lbs per week and then I would eat out and put on 3/4lbs from a restaurant meal. So no eating out appears to be key.

I am starting this challenge at 15st6lbs and racing to get into the 14s

Stravaig · 26/12/2022 23:31

@Sodullincomparison Thank you. An advantage of my current restricted life, far fewer distractions and temptations than most of you. I'd totally lose the plot presented with a delicious restaurant menu. Or any of the normal busy lives you're all navigating whilst also losing weight. I have it easy in some ways.

If I'm not-so-subliminally encouraging more veggies I'll be very happy!

Pelo22 · 26/12/2022 23:41

30 min spin class done today and 10 min upper body weights

Man! I really want clear soup and salad. Have had a lovely time but a bit peopled out now. Looking forward to a few quiet days before the next lot of visitors arrive for NY. My parents left today so I tried to foist all the chocolate/ cakes etc onto them but they were having none of it 🤣.

Sodullincomparison · 27/12/2022 17:26

This corner is looking very dangerous.

We had a cheeseboard for lunch and I think we are officially Christmassed out. DD4 asked for beans on toast and I’m having boiled eggs for dinner. ( DH has a tin of peanuts)

going back in the real world tomorrow. Can’t wait!

Sodullincomparison · 27/12/2022 17:43

@Pelo22 well done on the daily class.

Gracesbraces · 27/12/2022 17:43

Hi all! I’ve put on 8 pound in four days! Ahhh! Though I have eaten as much as I’ve wanted! A little bit disappointed but such is life! Here’s to next weeks weigh in and trying to shift it off

Current weight: 13-8!

AnnieHoooo · 27/12/2022 18:10

@Stravaig you've done SO WELL. Mini milestones working for you.

Stravaig · 28/12/2022 20:42

@illiterato @Sodullincomparison I had pickled herring, potatoes & butter one day 🤣 Plain food.

@AnnieHoooo 😊

Stravaig · 28/12/2022 20:47

I've been thinking about the mini milestones. They're a manageable goal to aim for, and a way of affirming progress, both true, but there's something else too. It feels like marking each milestone draws a line, that I can't cross back over, which stops me from going backwards.

Any rock climbers here? You've climbed a ways past your last anchor, so you place a piece of gear and clip in before going further. It consolidates your gains and protects you from falling. It's a wee bit like that.

Sodullincomparison · 28/12/2022 21:06

My new scales finally arrived and I loved them upstairs and oh my it said eight pounds heavier!

I shrieked so loud!

I sorted out the feet so they are steady and all is right in the world and it is back to where it was.

This is looking like a big mountain right now- step by step right.

Love that analogy

I'm just joining this thread - I was 14st yesterday 😭 I'm going to get to at least 12st this year or die trying.

More movement, less sugar, more fruit and veg. Plus also intermittent fasting.

Itsmysocalledlife · 28/12/2022 21:16

I found the new thread!! I’ve name changed (was ‘Paulinefowlerscardigan) I fell off the thread when we all had covid, then the flu bug, since Dec 1st everyone has been poorly! I’m fine now, but it has been a really bad month of eating everything and not moving much. Today is also my birthday. So all in all, I’m going to start back heavier than I was in the first place!! But I’m place marking for Jan 1st, when I’m back and will weigh in, and wont be giving in til I actually get where I want to be. 46 is going to be my year!
Well done to everyone 😊😊

Stravaig · 28/12/2022 21:24

@Amazonmulu Welcome!

@whyhere It sounds possible, or maybe just a natural monthly fluctuation?

@Itsmysocalledlife 🎶Happy Birthday to you! 🎂(carrot, so veggies really :)

Sodullincomparison · 28/12/2022 23:33

@Itsmysocalledlife but you gave up smoking at the same time so you can do it easily this time. 😀

Stravaig · 29/12/2022 07:11

🥳 Lost 2 stone!
It's beginning to feel real.

Today is the beginning of my 4th month.
Down 3.6 kg in the past 30 days.
