Thought I'd save you the hassle @poorpaws.

Well done for those who have lost and good luck to those struggling.

My focus at the moment is just to be wiser for food selection and to keep active. The slow moving scales can wait although I did check this morning and showing I'm nearly back to 14 and a half stone.

@TalkToTheHand123 You don’t have to let them think something is up.Just tell them you are being more mindful in your eating.
I NEVER use the word diet to anyone. Cue people commenting, advising, laughing etc. But mindfulness is either not understood or seen as a positive but mysterious thing. You could have real fun with it, a little ritual to involve all your senses, maybe a mantra!

TalkToTheHand123 · 09/01/2023 18:53

Aww thanks @Zebracat . I've learned not to say I'm on a diet. I just say I don't like the food. Which is starting to become true as my taste buds seem to be changing a lot over the last few months.🤔

My manager made a comment a while ago asking me how much weight I'd lost as she noticed I was always having soup and I told her about a stone. She joked about how she would have wanted to lose a lot more. Whilst she wouldn't have meant anything by it, it's a comment I find difficult to forget!

I'll be pointing it out the next time though 😊

@TalkToTheHand123 that's awful behaviour by your manager. The type of thing that can make some people backslide. Stay strong.

triplecheeese · 09/01/2023 20:20

I like the three spoonfuls rule @Zebracat! @TalkToTheHand123 ignore that negativity. Sounds like she was being clumsy and meant that she didn't like soup? A stone is brilliant and more than that all the little things you're noticing like your figure and palate changing.

Good luck everyone! A stressful few work days ahead for me so must keep on fitting in a quick workout to bust the stress instead of a quick Mars bar...

KBO. Double figures tomorrow, January is 1/3 over...

TalkToTheHand123 · 09/01/2023 22:26

Aww thanks @triplecheeese u're right. I'm using it as extra motivation now though.

Evening, I’ma bit late weighing in but I’ve been at the hospital all day yesterday with DS and then again all day with DD, totally unrelated things and both out the blue. Anyway despite eating rubbish at the hospital I’m 4 lbs down and I’m really happy with that and on track to lose the stone by a month.

PinkArt · 10/01/2023 00:29

High five to all the Monday losers (so to speak!). Sympathetic shoulder squeeze to any gaibers - remember it's just one week though, a depressing rainy week.
I've been learning to fight my inner 'fuck it' on weeks I gain, since I worked out that's one way I really self sabotage. As much as a loss is lovely, not hitting destruct after a gain is almost as nice.

SapatSea · 10/01/2023 17:42

@Cocopogo Hope your DC are okay now. A&E - how stressful and worrying for you. Well done with your weight loss.

I'm still exactly the same weight as last week, despite cutting out a lot of sugar. Oh well, perhaps next week will see results.

Cocopogo · 10/01/2023 17:53

Hopefully next week then, sometimes our bodies need to play catch up!

BeyondMyWits · 10/01/2023 19:45

My weight always lags a week to a week and a half behind any action.

TalkToTheHand123 · 11/01/2023 10:28

Weighed this morning after feeling a bit lighter since using the soup maker and happy to report I'm back down to my lowest weight of 14.7. Hopefully I can break some records over the next few days 😊

@TalkToTheHand123 that's brilliant news ⭐️. Very well done and keep up the good work, you are doing amazingly well 👏🏻🌟. Lovely to feel lighter (I need to feel lighter too).

Gottoloveatakeaway · 11/01/2023 14:05

Well done @TalkToTheHand123 great achievement. But you have shown great willpower and deserve it.

TalkToTheHand123 · 11/01/2023 18:59

Aww thanks @poorpaws and@Gottoloveatakeaway .

I'm on a bit of a roll, hopefully won't sabatage it too much. 😂

I was offered biscuits this morning but declined stating I don't like them, which is quite true now somehow, rather than saying I was on a diet.

I was also asked by a couple of people if I was still on my 'soup diet' which gave me the opportunity to clarify it wasn't actually a diet! (Turned into one, but would rather not say 😯😊).

Zebracat · 11/01/2023 19:46

@TalkToTheHand123 . Fantastic, well done you, I can just feel us all getting back on track.

TalkToTheHand123 · 12/01/2023 10:08

Thanks @Zebracat . I managed to pig out again but it seems as long as I have soup, I'm not putting on and taste buds slowly going off the processed food.

Ive failed another seven times on the last seven consecutive days since I last posted - but today is the day I get it right from. I know from experience, if I can resist temptation for three consecutive days, then I am up and running and could be good for a month or two.

This is day one of the renewed renewed renewed renewed renewed renewed renewed renewed renewed renewed renewed renewed New Year's Resolution

TalkToTheHand123 · 12/01/2023 19:06

Aww @Nimbostratus100 what foods are leading you astray? Do you get plenty fluids?

OP posts:
PinkArt · 12/01/2023 19:13

You haven't failed @Nimbostratus100, you've just postponed succeeding! Being mean to yourself isn't going to help.

TalkToTheHand123 · 12/01/2023 19:06

Aww @Nimbostratus100 what foods are leading you astray? Do you get plenty fluids?

today it was chocolates I found while clearing away some left over Christmas decorations, and also pizza - only had a small piece, but not great - still - I will try again tomorrow

NoDairyNoProblem · 12/01/2023 20:14

Can I join you all on the rocky road to success?

I weighed in at a whopping 16st 7lbs on Monday morning. My heaviest ever. I weighed less walking into hospital to deliver my babies 😞.

I have joined the gym and started a journal to record what I eat, fluid intake and exercise.

I am in the throes of menopause, arthritic and doing myself no favours at this weight.

BeyondMyWits · 13/01/2023 07:36

@NoDairyNoProblem ... come on in! We're a friendly, no judgement group who are generally (on average, and over time!) losing weight together. It is lovely being able to discuss our success and failures and be congratulated and commiserated with no guilt. There's a few of us menopausal and a few with joint issues.

Checking in on the thread really helps. I have lost over a stone here. (From 16st 9)... though some pounds I've lost 3 or 4 times!!!

So good luck with your weight loss, its always nice to see newbies...

poorpaws · 13/01/2023 07:59

@NoDairyNoProblem welcome, I second what @BeyondMyWits has said, we are a lovely supportive group.

It was going well here considering I am living with three extra people (all very slim with different eating habits) until I found a box of Christmas Maltesers! The weather has been dreadful so we missed the dog walk yesterday (it's the dogs who hate the rain and won't go), so all in all not a good few days.

Today is another new start, it's not raining and the Maltesers are all gone.

My family are here until 7 February and I fear I will be struggling until my life can get back to normal. I am actually expecting to gain weight for the next few weeks but am still trying and not completely giving in, it's just so difficult.

Keep trying everyone, even if we have a small weight loss it's still a loss.

Nimbostratus100 · 13/01/2023 08:32

today is another new start for me too....

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 13/01/2023 08:47

@NoDairyNoProblem I weighed 2 stone less than now just after I'd had my twins Blush they are 7 now but that's 7 years of general exhaustion that have taken their toll!

DTS2 got a massive box of Maltesers for Christmas @poorpaws and DP scoffed the lot last night. In one go. And he's dairy intolerant and waffles on for hours about how milk chocolate affects him badly! DTS2 was very puzzled when he found the empty box earlier...

I'm still trying to find my weight loss mojo, have completely lost my way and don't even know where to start Confused hopefully checking in here will help!
