Thought I'd save you the hassle @poorpaws.

Well done for those who have lost and good luck to those struggling.

My focus at the moment is just to be wiser for food selection and to keep active. The slow moving scales can wait although I did check this morning and showing I'm nearly back to 14 and a half stone.

@thenewaveragebear1983 bless you, no wonder you can't concentrate on food and exercise. Don't despair, there will be a next time and without toothache, the new job, snow etc my money will be on you to do well 💐

@TalkToTheHand123. You're still here, still going to the gym, well done to you.

@BeyondMyWits. Wow! You ⭐️🌟 I think you might be our boost week winner. So well done, I can't congratulate you enough 👏

@Zebracat it will all happen for you another week. You are doing well so don't despair.

My results:

At last the Christmas gain has gone (so embarrassing to have taken this long to lose it),
I've gone down a stone zone from the 11s to the 10s
Now 10st 13.5, so lost 3 lbs.

Result!

Well done fellow boosters.

BeyondMyWits · 09/03/2023 08:14

Awwwww thanks all.

We all have our different journeys, those going up will meet us again on their way down... the way I see it is we are all generally heading down over time with support.

Someone pointed out to me when I was despondent over Christmas that despite piling on the pounds I was still a stone lighter than when I joined this group. That was a nice thought.

@poorpaws Well done to you. God I just love going over that stone boundary!! And to do it from the 11s to the 10s is soooo much harder than the 16/15 etc.

poorpaws · 09/03/2023 08:47

Thank you @BeyondMyWits I just want a waist again. When I was young I had a lovely thin waist and now I go straight up and down. I've been just below the 11 stone mark many times, I just can't seem to get to 10 stone, which I'd be happy with. Actually I am feeling quite despondent this morning, I know I shouldn't be. It's just so difficult (nearly impossible) to be where I want to be.

I tell anyone who will listen that I'm doing an old Rosemary Conley dvd and she says at the beginning she will change my body shape, guaranteed! I can't see it yet but I have to believe her 😆

Zebracat · 09/03/2023 10:35

@poorpaws 3 whole pounds is amazing. Well done you.

Theredjellybean · 09/03/2023 11:45

I have lost 1.2 kgs...
Hit 72.2 this morning.
It's been horrendous last few days as dsd is in hospital...acute hospital not eating disorder unit and I've been here 16 hrs each day advocating, trying to get things sorted blah blah... tempting to eat crap but managed not too.
Did have two stiff gins last niggt
I've also not done any exercise since Sunday..
But onwards...trying to keep extra good habits from boost week as BAU...

Theredjellybean · 09/03/2023 11:46

Well done to all ..even if not lost or lost loads the fact your still here is a win

Zebracat · 09/03/2023 11:52

@Theredjellybean . Oh my goodness. Sending all best wishes to you and your dsd. I neversay this, but if eating crap gets you through, then eat crap, also, in my experience at hospitals it’s eat crap or eat nothing. 💐

poorpaws · 09/03/2023 13:33

@Theredjellybean I'm so sorry to hear about your dsd and I hope she makes a full recovery soon. You've done amazingly well considering the circumstances so you thoroughly deserve a well done. You are a star ⭐️ too.

Bjarnum · 09/03/2023 15:01

@poorpaws A stone boundary broken! Hurrah! congrats too to @BeyondMyWits . And the the rest of us deserve credit for hanging in there. So, all in all a positive experience. I'm on holiday from tomorrow, so will be pleased if I manage to get away with staying the same.

TalkToTheHand123 · 09/03/2023 18:51

Hi all. Made the mistake of having a shawma wrap with chips. Was delicious but has given me a very upset tummy. Hopefully I will learn to not have one again.

Amazing work everyone you should be so proud!

I've managed to get off another 2 pounds so I'm now 15st 11.5. Or I was this morning.

Just celebrated with a full curry, onion bhajis, popadoms, mango chutney, garlic naan the works. It was amazing right up to to about 15 minutes after I stopped eating when I realised how full I felt. I think 4 months of dieting my capacity to eat so much is limited and I feel kinda gross now. Still better than if I'd had a curry without boost week though!

15st 10 is 100kg so my next mini target is to get under that. Reckon I can do that in a couple of weeks. And that would meet the 7lbs in 7 weeks we were aiming for by Easter weekend as well.

effiesgoldwig · 09/03/2023 20:12

Hope dsd is improving @Theredjellybean

Theredjellybean · 09/03/2023 22:40

Thank you everyone...I have rather taken zebracats advice and just ate 1/3 of a fruit cake ..oh well...
Dsd finally got her pic line in after 48 hrs waiting...and the transfusion started
It's intensely frustrating as all Drs agreed she needed a pic line approximately 55 hrs ago ..she's sat around in an acute bed waiting since ... overnight infusion and maybe home tomorrow...fingers x as I'm sick of crap food in hospital...or fruit cake binges at home

poorpaws · 10/03/2023 07:45

Thinking of you @Theredjellybean and hoping your dsd is doing well.

Looks like I've put on half a pound overnight! Didn't do that much different to the boost week except missed out my exercise dvd (I felt I needed a night of it) and had a few extra shreddies at supper to stop me attacking a chocolate bar <sigh> it doesn't take much for me to gain the pounds.

Hope everyone is ok

Gottoloveatakeaway · 10/03/2023 07:51

Getting back on track after great week away where I put on 3lbs. Weighed today and lost 2lb counting as a win.

I've been helped by having horrid toothache since arriving home and can't really enjoy anything hot - lukewarm is my new friend. Not a lot of things feel appetising when you can't have hot.

You've all been doing really well in the meantime, lots of healthy eating and exercise - Great effort everyone.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 10/03/2023 08:54

I’ve put on 2lbs 😢 probably a combination of cocodamol, my enforced soft food diet, no exercise and comfort eating to be honest. I won’t lie, this week has been a tough gig and I am very glad it’s Friday. Annoyingly kids are on a snow day so I will be attempting to work from home while managing them and providing an endless stream of snacks, drinks, and hot chocolate. Ds has already asked me when it’s lunch time 🤦‍♀️

the one upside (at least I am telling myself it’s an upside) is that my antibiotics are strictly zero alcohol consumption, which (and I will admit my little heart sank when she said that and i tried hard not to look like I was devastated) means I will have a dry weekend. This usually works out well for me, we have a party at dh’s parents and this means I won’t be tempted to overeat the buffet or drink too much so hopefully will claw back my weight loss by the end of the weekend.

PinkArt · 10/03/2023 10:36

No change for me. What I am taking from boost week as a roundabout benefit though is that I think it's shown me that being strict doesn't work for me. Even when it's completely my own strict rules, set by choice. I seem to be wired to want to rebel against myself.
I've got more blood tests next week and things like that tend to focus my mind a bit so I'm hoping to see improvement for next week.
Well done for everyone's impressive losses this week.

Gottoloveatakeaway · 10/03/2023 14:16

@PinkArt glad its not just me - the minute anyone (including me) sets rules then i need to break them. Really thought i might have grown out of this by now, but seems not. A lifelong rebel.

Good luck for this coming week

SchrodingersKitty · 11/03/2023 09:42

Lost 5.4 lbs this week! Half of that was the result of me catching covid, though. Have really not felt like eating and am subsisting on porridge and boiled eggs. One way to do it, I suppose, but not recommended. Worryingly, I seem to be losing my sense of smell, which I imagine will much reduce the pleasure of food for a while.

endlesswashing · 11/03/2023 10:37

Morning all,
Think was late to the party so missed that it was boost week. I've stayed the same. Grateful I've not put on as it wasn't the bed week food wise. Going to focus on adding to my diet, more water, veg and get more steps in.
Hope you all have a nice healthy weekend planned.

TalkToTheHand123 · 11/03/2023 11:23

Hi all. Tried to resist weighing but felt quite light for me and scales showing 14 and a half stone so ok.

Sleep routine has been quite good as have been so tired early so have just dragged myself to bed early.

@Theredjellybean Thinking of you and yours. Please God things will soon take a turn for the better

Bjarnum · 11/03/2023 23:36

@SchrodingersKitty Absolutely amazing - well done!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 12/03/2023 07:53

Good morning everyone.
@Theredjellybean 💐

@SchrodingersKitty and @TalkToTheHand123 well done on your weight losses. Hope you’re not too poorly with the covid. I didn’t lose my sense of smell /taste when I had it thankfully.

I feel like my antibiotics have finally started to kick in, 3 days down the line, and today is the first day I’ve felt that it was less swollen and less generally uncomfortable in my mouth. Hopefully over the worst now.
I’m not going to dwell on my terrible food and zero exercise last week, but instead make some solid plans for a really good week this week. I haven’t run since last Friday or been to the gym since Tuesday, so I fully intend to get some miles in this week. I absolutely need to get some vegetables into my diet and give my self a physical and emotional boost, my energy levels are really flat and I’m just feeling so unhealthy.

I need to get my WFH routine sorted, my plan this week is to:
-prep my lunches in advance/ make a lunchbox
-prep some veg sticks/snacks that are either veg or protein
-have water on my desk so I drink 2l a day
-use my ‘golden hour’ wisely- this is the time in the morning after dropping ds at childcare at 7.40 before starting work at 9. My commute time, which now I don’t need to spend driving up work. My plans for this glorious hour include doing a work out, going for a run, getting some chores done etc. this time is the key to addressing my work/life balance which is one of the drivers of this big life change.

on to today- we went out last night. I didn’t drink due to my meds, but i also didn’t sleep well as I was quite wired when we got back. I want to get sorted for the week, plan my menu, do a shopping order to be delivered tomorrow, and go out for either a walk or a run this afternoon - beautiful spring sunshine here.

poorpaws · 12/03/2023 08:20

Just a quickie to remind everyone that it's four weeks today to Easter Sunday. That could be 4 lbs off for each of us!

Well done everyone and a very special well done to @SchrodingersKitty, wow! I hope you are fully recovered.

Have a good Sunday.
