Lose +/- 7lbs with me

Would anyone like to join me in losing just a few pounds?

Despite cutting back on biscuits and alcohol and keeping active, I've put on 8lbs due to the menopause - most of it feels like it's around my middle and I'm not feeling good about it.

I enjoy walking, so am going to try and to a bit more on top of my usual exercise, also some toning exercises for my stomach/core. Not willing to starve myself, so going to try and make better choices/have slightly smaller portions.

Good to hear everyone's updates and really well done ifonly4 on your improved body shape. My DH has been away this week which has really helped with the weight loss, now down 3.6kg since mid Feb. I haven't yet noticed my clothes being looser though. I suspect I need to do more exercise/weights.

Hi, how’s everyone doing?

I’ve made the (difficult) decision to drop my calories and cut the carbs a bit more drastically. I’m just wafting around the same 2/3 pounds on off on off and haven’t really lost anything since the end of Jan. I exercise 5 times a week, every week, I eat well but I clearly just eat too much so I’m gettIng really really fed up now. I don’t think it’s even a true representation of my weight, I just think I fluctuate wildly and retain a lot of water and when my weight is lower it’s just that I am dehydrated, it’s not real fat loss. So I’m 160lb pretty much dead on and I’m cutting my cals to 1300 a day in the week. I was aiming for 1500 but probably having more before, and not nearly strict enough. I should be able to lose on 1500, my average tdee according to Garmin for the last 7 days is 2000 cals a day- but I think I’m eating more than I realise, then at the weekend I just undo any tiny weight loss I may have had.

sounds bloody depressing doesn’t it? But as it’s Easter coming up I want to get a really good week under my belt before the long weekend.

Today I had a bowl of fruit salad for breakfast, a salad with 100g feta and sliced chicken for lunch, some strawberries, a pear, and a couple of homemade chicken skewers with mushrooms and toms, and broccoli with cheese melted on it. Feels healthy and filling and I still have a few cals left if I want something later.

thenewaveragebear1983 really sorry, I thought I'd replied to this thread
How are you getting on? You sounded like you were getting on really well. I think we all have ups and downs depending on what we've eaten or water retention. Wasn't that good last week, but am determined not to put the 7lbs on I lost, so am back on it for a few days. Keeping calories reasonably low today, but fish and homemade chips tonight. Exercise class cancelled as teacher has covid, so I've done some taichi and a few exercises this morning. I still haven't lost that extra 2lbs, maybe one day!
