One month body blitz starting tomorrow

ONO7 · 19/06/2022 11:01

Anyone care to join me?

I'm starting tomorrow, giving myself a month, to try and sort myself out. One month doesn't sound too daunting!

I have at least two stone to lose, which will obviously take time, I'm not expecting a miracle in one month.

Also, the fatter I get the more I have let myself go so I intend to start using all the beauty products currently gathering dust, and take more care of my appearance.

I know that with a bit of effort, I can make positive visible changes. I really don't like what I see in the mirror right now.

I will post my starting weight in the morning and will make Monday my weekly weigh day.

I'll join! The new students arrive in September and by then I want to be able to fit into my pre-Covid clothes rather than the "at least it fits" compromised gear I've been sporting since January. I've got to lose 20lbs.

Yes to 'at least it fits'

Yea I'm in

Brunilde · 19/06/2022 17:34

I'm feeling very motivated now. Does anyone have a fitbit? I'm debating getting one. If so do you find it helps to get you moving more?

DrRuthGalloway · 19/06/2022 17:52

I have a Fitbit Brunilde. I do like it when it buzzes to tell me I have hit 10k steps....which isn't often enough, esp on my work days. It's also motivating to see that your exercise is noted.

Hitting 10k steps 5 days a week, plus HIIT on my exercise bike at least 3x week, on my new plan.

ONO7 · 19/06/2022 17:54

Hello @Brunilde yes I have a Fitbit, it's been hidden in the cupboard for a couple of years now. It is definitely motivating, but obviously you do have to wear it! I found it quite addictive at first and I would try to reach a step target everyday.

I'm going to go find it and hopefully it still works.

I love my fitbit - it's been great watching my resting heart beat reduce as I've lost weight, as well as motivating me to walk more.

ONO7 · 19/06/2022 18:01

@DrRuthGalloway I had my Fitbit set to a target of 5000 steps a day. That way I would hit my target everyday. It definitely motivated me to aim for 10,000 steps a day.

Thanks everyone. I think I will take the plunge and get one. Every little helps! I definitely need to walk more and just be more active in general.

mamatoTails · 19/06/2022 18:09

I don't have a Fitbit, but similar so I'll charge it up for tomorrow. I do try and get 10k steps a day, but need to add another form of exercise and change my diet!

anybloodyname · 19/06/2022 18:10

Off to put Fitbit on charge ...

ONO7 · 19/06/2022 18:11

I also like that my Fitbit gives me notifications for texts and calls received.

If nothing else, at least you've got yourself a watch !

Oh me please! I'm 15 stone which is hideous. I was going to lose weight in January - and I'm 6 months through the year and I've managed to lose 2lb.

A month's blitz might kickstart me on the road to recovery.

Arucanafeather · 19/06/2022 18:16

Please can I join too. 3 stone to lose. Trying to get back to fitness after ill health. I’m back exercising (CrossFit classes and jogging ready for a half marathon in September) but my food habits are terrible so the weight isn’t shifting at all. I’m going to go for the whole foods approach and only each items with fewer than 5 ingredients… it knocks most of the crap I eat off the available menu!
Will be brave tomorrow and weigh myself!

Belephant · 19/06/2022 18:20

Can I join please?! I have two stone I'd like to get rid of. I am usually very unmotivated to lose weight but I have an event in August I'd like to look nice for. I need help staying focused!

diamondpony80 · 19/06/2022 18:25

I'd like to join. Seeing family for a big party in about a months time and I want to fit into something nice. Plus on my Fitbit it's telling me my cardio fitness is only "fair to average" when it was "good" only a few months ago! I haven't exercised regularly in quite a while.

NOTANUM · 19/06/2022 18:29

I’ll join too please. Would like to drop 7lbs in a month though have a lot more to lose..

PoorMegHopkins · 19/06/2022 18:31

Am in. I know a month isn’t long but it’s enough for me to feel a little less wobbly on holiday.

ithoughtisawapuddycat · 19/06/2022 18:34

I'm definitely in. I've been home alone a lot recently as hubby has been doing overtime on a big project at work. Need to find something to distract me instead of sitting in front of the TV eating.

I'd like to have lost 5 stone by the end of the year which I know for me is achievable. Just going to start tracking what I eat this week and work out my current calories and then work on reducing them. Need to start walking more again as we did loads during the first two lockdowns but not so much recently.

BeHappyItIsEasier · 19/06/2022 18:34

Oh great thread idea! Yeah, I'll join you all please

I have just gone back to doing 'proper' exercise, so I will continue with that. Also just going to try cutting out crappy food, especially snacks and sweets, during the week with the odd treat at weekend.

We will be stunners come July 😁

Iamclearlyamug · 19/06/2022 19:01

I'll join too - although I swear to god I've been starting every Monday for about the last month. Like you @ONO7 I can eat a disgusting amount of food without feeling sick and to be honest it's getting embarrassing. I'm 5'7 and I reckon I'll probably weigh in at 13st tomorrow - a year ago I was 10st 9 😱😭😭

clpsmum · 19/06/2022 19:04

Anybody want to link up as friends on Fitbit to motivate each other, do challenges etc? Xx

ButteryNuts · 19/06/2022 19:19

Hi i'd love to join Smile I started my diet on the 31st of May but would like to push myself for the next 4 weeks as I've got some things planned after that!

I'm doing the new you plan (about a stone down already) but would like to add some workout videos in as well

Brunilde · 19/06/2022 19:26

@clpsmum I defo will once I get it. Hopefully tomorrow.

ONO7 · 19/06/2022 19:27

Ok so I've got my Fitbit on charge and it seems to be working. I will download the app in a bit.

I want to start taking vitamins daily so I have found various concoctions in the cupboard and will take them every day, I've just taken some.

I need to stop drinking Diet Coke and coffee, which to be honest is extreme. I have bought a bottle of sugar free squash, plain water is a little hardcore for me right now.
