One month body blitz starting tomorrow

Anyone care to join me?

I'm starting tomorrow, giving myself a month, to try and sort myself out. One month doesn't sound too daunting!

I have at least two stone to lose, which will obviously take time, I'm not expecting a miracle in one month.

Also, the fatter I get the more I have let myself go so I intend to start using all the beauty products currently gathering dust, and take more care of my appearance.

I know that with a bit of effort, I can make positive visible changes. I really don't like what I see in the mirror right now.

I will post my starting weight in the morning and will make Monday my weekly weigh day.

I'll join too. I'm going to be doing mfp. I am 84kg and need to get down to 70. I think that's about 2-2.5stone off.

I've been trying to be good for a couple of weeks and I feel like I've been doing well with the diet but the results don't reflect that as ive had no loss so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I'm going to have to increase exercise to see if that helps.

Nothingoriginalhere · 20/06/2022 08:49

CandyLeBonBon · 20/06/2022 09:06

CandyLeBonBon · 20/06/2022 09:10

Weighed in This morning at 64.85kg. A month ago I was 61.3kg but I've been living up up and over-wining so that stops here. It's my birthday on 23rd July and in holiday on 25th so I'd like to be under 60kg for both of those targets!

Cuzco · 20/06/2022 09:48

Please can I join? I was just searching for a thread when I found this one so the timing is perfect.

My background is that my weight had crept up through my 20s and 30s but after my second DC in Aug 2020 I had to do something (never dieted before). With helpful advice from a lovely group on here, I lost quite a bit of weight starting from Feb 2021 but didn't really ever get to maintenance levels. The the pubs reopened so I had a lot of catching up to do after a lock down mat leave and then I went back to work in October - and you can clearly see that on my MFP graph.

I'm finding it hard. Neither DC sleep well so I'm mentally and physically shattered all of the time. Work is sitting at an office desk. I'm snacking. Some of the gorgeous trousers I bought to go back to work are now too tight Blush

So I'm disappointed in myself but NOW'S THE TIME I need to turn the graph around. Starting today.

I'll be calorie counting aiming for 1450 - 1600 calories per day.

Today's weight: 76.2kg.
No real target for this month long challenge as long as it's down. Ultimately I'd like to get to 70kg.

Can I join too? I've just weighed myself at 10st 4 1/3lb, would love to get to 9st 7. I've been low carbing, but not properly - damn those biscuits. They're going in the bin and I'm going to attempt to resume Couch to 5K, just twice a week but that'll be a start.

ONO7 · 20/06/2022 10:26

Hello to the new joiners, good luck.

How's everyone going? I'm on my second bottle of water, and done a short walk with the dog who is a bit slow so can't go too far!
Will walk him again later tonight and then am planning a proper walk afterwards to make sure I get my steps in.
Going to boil some eggs for lunch shortly!

youboozeyoulose · 20/06/2022 10:40

I'll join. I'm so unfit, got plantar fasciitis and had to give up running. Need to lose two stone to reach a happy weight.

Weighed myself this morning, 11 stone 10. I'm only five foot 2 - aarrgh.

Floralorial · 20/06/2022 10:48

10st 5lbs this morning. No unhealthy snacks today and will aim for gym tomorrow!

AutumnOcean · 20/06/2022 10:51

Weighing in at 69.8kg this morning. 64-65kg is my happy place, so will be working hard towards that. I'm booked in for a 6am fitness class tomorrow. Good luck all

ONO7 · 20/06/2022 10:55

Bloody hell what's wrong with me, I just made myself a coffee and scoffed a small double decker while waiting for the kettle to boil.

Well I guess that's my lunch then.

Can I join? Not looking to lose weight so much as getting more active and actually attending the gym classes that I religiously book each morning and cancel each afternoon. I'm so fed up of feeling like a sloth. I desperately need more energy and to invest a little bit more time in myself.

I've cut right back on alcohol - only drinking when it's an 'occasion' rather than on the sofa in front of telly and I've deleted Facebook which I was spending an inordinate amount of time on

Brunilde · 20/06/2022 11:13

I have ordered my fitbit, can pick it up from sainsbury at 4pm. Have put makeup on and a nice summer dress so a good start! Resisted an ice cream earlier when the kids had one and have eaten well so far! Do need to focus on more water though.

Cuzco · 20/06/2022 11:19

Two weetabix, 170ml of semi skimmed milk, two pints of water and a cup of tea so far but I'm already feeling peckish and I wanted to get to 1.30pm before lunch Confused

FamilyGredunza · 20/06/2022 11:22

Joining! A friend has given me an exercise bike which I hope will let me get rid of a peaky half a stone (mainly tummy!) in time for holiday.

FamilyGredunza · 20/06/2022 11:23

Any tips on avoiding snacking in the evening would be great.

I either brush my teeth early and get ready for bed, or I go for a walk!

I keep reminding myself that I want to go to bed proud that I've stuck to my plan that day and not angry that I failed by giving in to a moment of weakness.
Herbal teas nice. They're nice cool too.
Or if you feel you have to snack, get some yummy strawberries or other fruit.

CredibilityProblem · 20/06/2022 12:39

I like herbal teas in the evening after supper. The ritual makes them feel like an actual thing.

FloraGreysteel · 20/06/2022 12:50

Monster Ultra zero for breakfast and am now queuing in Chilango for a bespoke chicken salad tex-mex lunch. Chicken stir fry with black bean sauce tonight: a massive one with 500g chicken thigh fillets. Total calories for today will be 1184, 16 under my limit.

CredibilityProblem · 20/06/2022 12:57

Handful of almonds for breakfast, oat and barley porridge with a banana for lunch.
Probably smoked haddock parcels and veg for supper.

FamilyGredunza · 20/06/2022 13:44

Thanks for the snacking tips - I will need to try them all! Watching tv goes hand in hand with snacking for me and half the time I'm not even hungry.

BeneficiaryMadness · 20/06/2022 13:49

7am gym session ✅
Smoothie (oats/oat milk/skyr/frozen strawberries and mango blended up)
30 minute track session ✅
Snack was a babybel with a few grapes and Alice of apple
Lunch was roasted duck with greens and some teriyaki rice and a bowl of cherries
its so hot here I definitely need some water but stuck under a sleeping dog at the minute
Dinner will be chicken salad I think with roasted sweet potatoes
No rubbish snacks as yet! I have just bought some mint Lindt in the food shop though..
