One month body blitz starting tomorrow

ONO7 · 19/06/2022 11:01

Anyone care to join me?

I'm starting tomorrow, giving myself a month, to try and sort myself out. One month doesn't sound too daunting!

I have at least two stone to lose, which will obviously take time, I'm not expecting a miracle in one month.

Also, the fatter I get the more I have let myself go so I intend to start using all the beauty products currently gathering dust, and take more care of my appearance.

I know that with a bit of effort, I can make positive visible changes. I really don't like what I see in the mirror right now.

I will post my starting weight in the morning and will make Monday my weekly weigh day.

Evening all! First weigh in tomorrow. Following New You vlcd - for me, the total meal replacement regime is what I need just now. I am adding small amounts of green veg (salad leaves, a floret of broccoli, a little cabbage) as otherwise it's all a bit mush like. I have also eaten 3 strawberries.

Super pleased that I have managed over 10k steps 5 of the last 8 days. Today's count is 12k. Just doing daily life and walking the dog. Also been on the exercise bike a couple of times.

Will update in the morning with weigh in info.

WheelofLife · 30/06/2022 08:36

I’ve maintained the pound/half kilo that I lost but not getting much further. I need to not take my iPad to bed as I waste too much time in the morning scrolling instead of exercising :(

FlickyCrumble · 30/06/2022 18:45

Wow everyone is really putting their all into it. Walking, counting cals, beauty care and I feel real positivity on this thread.

Thanks to everyone who commented on my first week weight loss. Much appreciated.

I do weigh every day and (I think weirdly) I weigh every night before bed. I write it down. I study the numbers. I feel it helps keep me on track. Does anyone else weigh at night as well as mornings?

DrRuthGalloway · 30/06/2022 20:50

1st week weigh in - 10lb down! Yay!

For people with less to lose this WOE isn't long term sustainable but right now I just need quick results and a boost. My plan ATM is a month on this plan, then switch to low carb real food.

It's lovely to read about everyone's efforts.

isthatwhatyoureallywanted · 30/06/2022 21:50

I was almost in tears when I was cooking my lunch today as I was suddenly so hungry. It is making me realise quite how many times recently I've told myself I'm doing 16:8 only to crack at least a couple of hours early.
I'm really noticing that, as soon as I start eating, I get really hungry and then keep grazing. If I can stop from starting eating in the first place, it's not so bad!

DrRuthGalloway · 30/06/2022 23:25

isthatreally - that might be pancreatic insufficiency....are you low carbing? The only way I can avoid hunger is to eat strictly low sugar low carb. It's like a magic switch turning off that gnawing hunger....which I now understand to be linked to blood sugar rises and crashes.

DrRuthGalloway · 30/06/2022 23:27

Sorry...I may have made up the pancreatic insufficiency bit...I know there is a condition where our bodies get less good at processing sugar and carbs, like a kind of low rent pre type 2 diabetes thing.

Gufo · 01/07/2022 07:11

I don't weigh in the evening as I find my morning weight more flattering Grin

DrRuthGalloway · 01/07/2022 09:55

Insulin resistance!!! That's the concept. Not pancreatic insufficiency.

Reminder to self - don't try to recall these sorts of terms late at night when tired....

youboozeyoulose · 01/07/2022 10:09

I had a really bad day yesterday. Afternoon tea involving cakes, sandwiches and booze booze booze. Back on track today though. Fasting until lunchtime, getting in a lunchtime walk and not weighing myself until Monday.

anybloodyname · 01/07/2022 17:19

@DrRuthGalloway what did you think of the New You stuff ? Similar to Cambridge but cheaper ? Did you have 4 a day and feel satisfied or hangry ?

FlickyCrumble · 01/07/2022 17:21

@DrRuthGalloway well done on the 10lbs. That is such a good start. Can I ask how many cals you’re eating in the vlc diet? Do you have a lot to lose? I’m wondering wether to shake it up for week 2.

DrRuthGalloway · 01/07/2022 17:28

Never tried Cambridge. New you is similar to exante but I find it easier somehow. 4 a day plus a snack and plenty of water. They sell water flavourings which are high fibre and v tasty. Plus an online support community.

It's based on keto so you don't get outrageously hungry. I have a very small amount of green veg or salad with my evening meal just so everything isn't mush.

I think it's 6-800 cal a day?
And yes I have a lot to lose. 2.5 stone would make me low end of obese. I am naturally booby with lipedema legs so never going to be 8.5 stone or anything.

anybloodyname · 01/07/2022 17:56

Thank you @DrRuthGalloway I'm thinking about it , not doing as well as I would like
Not doing well at all

Gryffindoratheart · 03/07/2022 20:37

Hi all,

Hope your weekends were good!!

I managed to stay in my calorie limits and over 10k steps each day.

Friday was a rubbish day though so I'm hoping for a maintain this week, or a loss!

Eviebeans · 04/07/2022 04:55

Hi everyone hope you're all doing okay. Had a good week but a less good weekend, have had a loss of one pound, which is a bit disappointing but to be expected, had been very careful all week, but amongst other things had an ice cream from the ice cream van yesterday.
Hoping for a better week and to increase the amount of steps I do every day.

BenFoglesScarf · 04/07/2022 07:05

Loss of two pounds which I’m very happy with as I usually put on a few pounds at this time of the month. Down to 10stone 2.

Is anyone else tracking measurements? I measured two weeks ago - hips 42, waist 30, chest 36, upper thigh 24, upper arm 11.5. Inches. I’m going to wait another two weeks and then see if there’s any change…..

Hope everyone has had a good weekend and good luck with the weigh ins!

gingercat02 · 04/07/2022 08:00

Well that's rather disappointing! 75.9kg so 0.3 gain 😪 thought I'd had a decent week, apart from Saturday when I ate everything in sight

Gufo · 04/07/2022 08:09

Loss of 2lbs here which I'm happy with.

That's 3 lbs since joining this thread, and overall one pesky pound from losing a stone since I started my own body blitz at the end of April!

I'm just chipping away by getting more steps in, doing a short daily yoga or weights video and eating much less! Still had half a pint, a mini magnum and some chippy chips yesterday - instead of the full pint, proper magnum and fish and chips I'd have had without thinking a few months ago.

bailarbailar · 04/07/2022 08:57

Loss of 0.8 of a pound, very disappointing as I've been totally on it all week and getting long walks in every day. At least it's a loss I suppose, I'm also into another stone bracket but really want the kgs to start with another number

youboozeyoulose · 04/07/2022 09:02

I'm 11 stone 7 today so three pound loss since I started. However it is TOTM so have perhaps lost more.

I'm actually a bit wary of weighing just once a week because that could be the day you have a random spike on the scale due to water retention or normal hormonal fluctuations.

Gufo · 04/07/2022 09:16

Agree - I weigh daily but update here weekly!

CredibilityProblem · 04/07/2022 09:32

Static week here but I gave blood on Friday and I always use that as a free pass for the weekend.

Getting back on the weight loss wagon from today, thanks for keeping me accountable.

I'm decluttering at the moment and the number of clothes I can't wear because they're a shade too tight is extremely depressing: that's my motivation (along with some slightly concerning health indicators).

Gryffindoratheart · 04/07/2022 10:25

Loss of 0.2 pounds this week so my weight is currently sitting at 12 stone 8.2/79.9kg

Aiming for 12 stone 6 by next Monday - gonna really stick to it this week, I let myself down last Friday by eating anything in sight 🙈

SW: 15 stone 2.4
CW: 12 stone 8.2
July GW: 12 stone 2

WheelofLife · 04/07/2022 11:48

69.5 kilos today. I’ve lost a kilo this week. I can’t remember the last time the scales started with 69.something, instead of 70, so it’s a start :)
